Ghosted (I) (2023)
7/10
Pleasantly enjoyable...
29 April 2023
Well, it turns out that the 2023 action comedy "Ghosted" was actually a rather enjoyable movie. And I found it to be 116 minutes well spent on watching it, as I was genuinely entertained by director Dexter Fletcher.

The storyline in "Ghosted", as written by Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, was good and entertaining. Sure, it can be said that it was a fairly straight forward, if not actually generic, storyline for an action comedy of this type. But I've always enjoyed these types of action comedies, and "Ghosted" was definitely in the high end of the scale.

It also helped that they had a great cast ensemble for the movie. And it was really refreshing to see Chris Evans (playing Cole Turner) in a role such as this, and he did it excellently. He starred opposite Ana de Armas whom also put on a great performance and was well-cast for the role of Sadie Rhodes. And having Adrien Brody cast for the role of Leveque, the main villain, was a good choice, because it was such a pleasure to watch him on the screen. There are also a lot of great smaller appearances throughout the course of movie, with the likes of Anthony Mackie, John Cho, Sebastian Stan, Tim Blake Nelson and Ryan Reynolds. So you are certainly in very capable hands.

Visually then "Ghosted" is also good and impressive. The special effects look great and add a lot of dynamic action and adrenaline to the fast-paced scenes.

If you enjoy action comedies, then "Ghosted" is well-worth watching. I was genuinely entertained from start to end.

My rating of director Dexter Fletcher's 2023 movie "Ghosted" lands on a seven out of ten stars.
