It's Not Bad, But It's Not Clear

Warning: Spoilers
So, I saw a preview of this & thought it looked good, but reviews & ratings made me think it might not be good. Nonetheless, I still went to see this.

The film sees a reclusive & controversial Author being drawn out of hiding when he begins to receive endless Letters from an obsessive Fan. What ensues is a dangerous Labyrinth as he searches for the person behind the cryptic messages & find himself spiraling further & further into madness.

I found the film to be good, but somewhat unclear. The story is unique, as with the characters & the other sub plots we see, but, it gets confusing when there's no clear narrative from start to finish.

The film itself is a slow mystery/thriller, which is fine, but, the pacing could've been worked on more. At 1 hour & 46 minutes, it's long for such a simple story with an ending that doesn't explain a lot & leaves you with more questions than answers.

The intrigue & enticement was good & as the film did progress, you were left wanting to know more, but the ending was disappointing somewhat. The first half of the film is great, but the middle part gets sluggish all the way up until the end.

Overall, it's not ace. But, it's a interesting mystery/thriller film you'll probably enjoy, but don't expect a great conclusive ending.

6/10.
