There are some vampirey things going on here. Going to give some pluses for Count Yorga's outfits, his demeanor, and taste in domicile interiors (natural wood, stone, candles, classy settings). Intrigue was attempted and arguably executed.
Decision-making abilities here on both the dark and light side is the true horror story. The doctor seems to abandon all science and reasoning for an obsession of superstition and accusation. Really? The immortal baddie seems to have learned nothing over the hundreds of years (if not longer). There's a HUGE time gap between the count's inception and the start of his story it seems. Too many plot holes to count (pun intended), and overall not a lot of skill exercised by the master of evil. Slow movie overall, abrupt, shruggable finish.
