Well made period short form series
5 September 2022
An adorable Canadian communist family at the center of this comedic web series provides a great emotional anchor amidst 80's hair, shoulder pads, Che Guevara t-shirts, and mullet cuts. Production design and wardrobe is on point in this well produced and directed series. Sofia Banzhaf and Kolton Stewart sparkle in their budding high school feels and Jessica Holmes and Aaron Poole have some genuinely laugh out loud moments (pushing a Lada around town) and trying to get votes for the father's homegrown family mounted local political campaign.

The montage in episode two where the kids run a boy scout apple selling business to buy a TV while their father spouts anti capitalist speeches and hour long lunches in printer shops really shows the ironic comedy at work. Really enjoyable show and one of the best web series I've watched.

Oh and Uncle Oleg as the random basement renter is on point. Great casting, I'd watch these people in a half hour anytime.
