Started out as great premise, but seemed to get silly and rushed at end, with stereotypical end: White man sucessfully save the slaves in Civil War and then take Native American lands, and they all get along now. They should have soley stuck with subplot and character development of young civil war officer and woman adopting children and making it out west. What will drive you nuts: Great outdoor cinematogrophy, but Virginia, Ne York, Missouri, and Montana all seemed to be the same place... But thankfully, EVERY single orphan had dark smudges on their faces that were seemingly unwashable - that way they werent confused with non orphans on the orphan train.
