If you, like me, saw the original Trainspotting in '96 and was of slightly the same age as the main characters, you'll love T2. Because most of all this film is about 40ers looking back at their lives and all the wrong choices they have made. Something everyone of my age (40ish) will recognize. Boyle is on top form, as is Carlyle. Great companion piece to the original. There was some criticism that T2 isn't as frenzy and electrifying as its predecessor. That's true, but that perfectly makes sense. This is a different type of story with older, more mature characters. I mean, ask yourself: weren't you a lot wilder and energetic when you were 20? The same goes for the energy of this fantastic sequel.
