Natalie Dyer drew me to this

Warning: Spoilers
The young people Natalie Dyer's character Clara meets say her grandmother is a good person, and everyone in the hills like her. Maybe some flashbacks might've helped us see what was so likable about her. We get a faux Appalacian Blanche Dubois/Norma Desmond who's so schizoid, you don't know how to take her. I can side with the estranged daughter, Frankie, Clara's mom, but I don't get the timeline. If Frankie was raised in that house in the hills, at what time was her mother a Hollywood legend? As for the being Clara's first contact with grandma, I don't understand how she accepts her eratic behaviour. It would put me on edge. Some reviewers claim it's calm & serene! It certainly could've been for Clara, if she could've stayed out in the hills. This should've been a whole lot better if you could see what everyone supposedly saw in grandma in the past. What I saw was a person very difficult to like, even without her health condition. Grandma, what a poor example you are for your granddaughter!
