I never thought I would see a film as tense and involving as a portrait of what people will do to get into the United Stated as El Norte, the best film ever made about illegal crossing into the US. Frontera is every bit as good as that film; primarily due to the great job done by Ed Harris; his best performance since The Right Stuff. He richly deserved the Oscar nomination he received for the film. The direction and production values of the film are of the highest caliber; but it is the story that will grab you. Like every other people in the world, there are good Mexicans and bad Mexicans. There are good Americans and bad Americans. There is no perfect society. Don't miss this film; it is a real cinematic treat.
