A Fine Film

I really liked it. I don't understand the bad reviews. Just the look of the super 16mm film deserves respect. Some of the shots are absolutely gorgeous. The cast did a fantastic job. Speaking of the cast they were all very pretty people. The narrator did a phenomenal job. He has a beautiful deep round warm voice.

The story is about a very arrogant writer who has a little bit of success which only fuels his arrogance. I love the way he pretends to be humble by downplaying any compliments people give him but he's not actually being humble he's being arrogant. Everyone admires him from a distance but once they get to know him they truly hate him. He's an extremely unlikable person but that is okay because this is a movie. We don't have an actual relationship with this person so he is not hurting us we are watching him hurt the people around him.

I thought it was funny. Most people will not get this kind of humor. Its very dry and I don't believe I saw Philip smile even once throughout the entire film. He's a very miserable angry person.

All in all a great film and definitely worth a watch if you are into movies shot on actual film and or interested in cinematography. Its also great if you enjoy dry humor and great dialogue.
