Beautifully Filmed, And Starring An Impressively Agile Buster Keaton

Warning: Spoilers
Their are a few different types of people who will enjoy The Railrodder. Fans of Buster Keaton (one of his last film appearances), train enthusiasts, proud Canadians, and those who, like myself, first saw it as childern, and were delighted by it. Personally, I am not a big Keaton fan, but I do enjoy him in this. His agility and strength are fascinating to watch, especially when you consider that he was now 68 years old. I love it when the camera comes in close to his face, and you see those deep lines.

I thought I might feel only nostalgia when I sat down to watch, but was surptised to discover that it's actually beautifully filmed. Not merely the scenery (which is also lovely) but the cinematography.

Granted their are a few scenes that don"t seem to fit, and yes a lot of the humour is not so sophisticated by today's standards. But I found those things easy to.overlook. And in the end it's heartwarming to watch the Japanese man ride off in the oppisite direction, forcing Keaton to walk.

ONE REGRET: I only wish that it hadn't shown trash being occasionally tossed from the speeder.
