It could be a real good film. And it is, in many aspects, from the performance of young Ioana Sandu to the inspired atmosphere, details, music. An adaptation in the style of Edgar Poe short stories and Dracula by Brian Stoker . The only, big problem remains the acting. Not bad but too forced. Sure, it is the sin from art films - the propaganda films were another chapter - under Ceausescu regime. But, an interesting adaptation, surprising, in good sense, in few scenes.
