While the casting was amazing, the acting wasn't that great. I'm a huge fan of Leclerc, but she just wasn't very good in this show. The entire story was practically rewritten too. Of course it has the basic outline of the book, Owen's an artist, him and Auburn fall in love, Trey tries to marry Auburn, Emory, Lydia, AJ, etc. but besides that the book is completely different, and better. In the series they add and take out parts that don't really matter like how they add that Auburn is adopted and had a mental illness, I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that wasn't in the book. They also took out both target scenes, Harrison's, "fixing Owen's stuff", the gun scene, anytime that Owen walked her home, and the car ride where Auburn recorded Trey. They added in stuff, or tweaked things too. Hannah became a drug dealer, Emory became Auburn's best friend, Auburn works at a nursing home, Auburn forces Trey off of herself instead of Emory pulling a gun on him, everyone is around 4 years older, Owen-Cat was stuffed, and the one thing that made me the maddest, the fact that Owen drew before he got a box of supplies from Adam, which didn't even happen by the way, Owen just drew two hands then gave it to Adam with his own art supplies. Anyways, the show is good if you haven't read the book and don't intend on reading it. If you love the book and really want to watch the show, then go ahead, it's not that bad. That's only one persons opinion and the one I had was that the show could use a heck ton of work.
