There is a more realistic less superficial tone to this Hallmark Christmas movie. Bad things happened to this woman around Christmas so she has bad associations with it. Her father and husband left around Christmas. She hires a tutor for her son and the son takes to the tutor.
Jill Wagner and Luke Macfarlane don't overact. So the romance is more believable.
