Adam Sandler has a lot of detractors. He's an actor who' often appeared bigger than his talent would suggest. Have I had to eat my words with this movie. And I'm happy to do so. In this intense, magical performance Sandler matches up to the usual reliable costars like Don Cheadle who here play's Adam's foil.
In addition to some comedic touches this is powerful and dark film that had many of the audience close to tears. The film's themes are friendship and loss. The revelation of Sandler's performance means you have an emotional impact nearly as big as the one delivered by the film and his performance.
