The research drew Pearl and his six-month pregnant wife Mariane(Angelina Jolie) to Karachi. Danny told his wife he would be late for dinner...he never had that dinner. A go-between had arranged a meeting with a vital elusive source. The respected reporter was kidnapped as a spy and beheaded in Pakistan. Mariane wrote her book to let her son Adam know about his unflinching and courageous father. Jolie puts in a strong performance. Impressively photographed matching the urgent atmosphere.
