Good cast - Sean Bean is a great actor, and Chris Hemsworth and Victoria Profeta perform well. And the movie had some very good moments, with a little humor here and there.
But overall, it became monotonous. The movie would have been better if it was shortened to 85 or 90 minutes, because some of the parts involving the three main characters were repetitive.
Also, the directing and camera work could have been better in some parts, especially later in the movie. The ending, which I will not spoil here, is inconclusive and unsatisfying.
So overall, although it might be somewhat entertaining in parts for some people, I do not recommend it.

I enjoyed this one. There is never a dull moment, never a time when I felt like fast-forwarding. The story is consistent with no plot holes.
Some of the cast were not highly-skilled actors, but none were really terrible - they performed as well as could be expected. Dermot Mulroney came up with a decent performance in the main role.
Some people will disparage this movie because it's a low budget thriller, not quite as well-made as the high budget movie Taken.
But as far as straight-to-video movies are concerned, Ruthless is pretty good. They did very well with the resources available, and came up with an entertaining film.

This is a somewhat interesting crime drama about a teenaged serial killer and an FBI profiler.
Joey Pollari was excellent as the killer, but Gabriele Angieri was poor as the FBI profiler and they should have chosen a different actor for the role. The rest of the cast members performed competently.
The movie is never dull, so I never felt an urge to fast forward. The discussions between the killer and profiler are mostly interesting, although less so towards the end.
The cinematography showing the countryside of Minnesota in the winter is very good, it adds a sense of realism to the story.
Not a bad crime thriller, not a great film but I've seen far worse.
