I was looking at the various superhero movies Snyder has done and I came back to this title. I am sure it isn't perfect, but I can't personally find a flaw. I don't know the source material so it was a seamless story to me. I have shown this and the Directors cut to various friends over the years to universal approval.
I would say the fantastic soundtrack is going to get more traction with younger Boomers and Gen Xers but that is maybe part of the appeal as current superhero films don't target these groups. Its weird and unique IMO and certainly Snyder's best work.
A pity there was not enough money made to generate a sequel but that has prevented the legacy from being tainted unlike what happened to the Hellboy series.
If you know someone who thinks all superhero movies are "a type" and has no use for the overpopulated MCU universe, this is something to show them. Like Sin City, it promises to be something they won't have seen before and would not be expecting.

No chemistry between the stars, weak illogical script, and unneccessarily impossible action scenes. The bits of this story are a well trod path that would have worked well with just some minor tweaks. But if they intended to make Indiana Jones meets African Queen they really should have paid more attention to what made those two films work. Things like the "pet" and the way they casually folded magic into the story sink the blockbuster budget with an amateuristic handling that a factory like Disney should know to avoid. Waste of a really good cast.
First let me say I did like this. After being fed an overwhelming diet of world smashing super heros for the last 15 years I am getting close to saturation. Anything that departs from the Disney family fluff MCU gets us off the treadmill and this one departs quite a bit. No family fluff hear and I think his absurd sidekick may be unique. The one complaint I have is the movie PM is a bit comical and clearly heavier on brawn than brains but on the small screen he is more obviously quite immature and basically kind of dense. Like pretty much the least intelligent super hero/villain we have been offered except for maybe some animal based ones. I think they pushed that aspect a bit too hard. I am only a couple episodes into it so hoping the writing evolves a bit but it might take until season two. Cena does look like the character should and doesn't need a padded suit to pull it off though.
