Not even hours after the official trailer for the new Fantastic Four film dropped, Marvel delivered a taste of a comic book movie that reminds us all of what a superhero flick should be like. With its 1960s flavor and use of over-the-top visuals, only one word comes to mind: Fantastic!
Not since Tim Burton's Batman (1989) or Sam Raimi's Spider-Man series have we seen such a dedication to a superhero's source material. As the trailer clearly demonstrates, director Matt Shakman proves to viewers that any adaptation should be a comic book first and a movie second.
A fantastic first look
After oohing and ahhing at the new trailer released this morning, this Marvel aficionado took a second look at this new side of Marvel, and it's one that feels familiar yet desperately needed. As previous MCU entries left much to be desired, a more accurate depiction of...

Emma Corrin had never before played a baddie or ventured into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But when “Deadpool & Wolverine” casting director Sarah Halley Finn came across the British actor — best known for the films “My Policeman” and “Lady Chatterley’s Lover” and playing Princess Diana on “The Crown” — she knew she had found someone who could hold their own opposite the film’s stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman as Cassandra Nova, the villainous twin sister of Charles Xavier.
“The villain had so many aspects that encompassed their power in a unique and fresh way,” says Finn, who’s nominated for the film at this year’s Artios Awards, celebrating its 40th year, in the feature: big budget comedy category. “I loved what [Corrin] did with that role and how they brought it to life.”

Did Chris Pratt Drink Heavy Amounts Of Water Each Day? (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Chris Pratt’s transformation for Guardians of the Galaxy was spectacular. He went from a beloved comedic sidekick in Parks and Recreation to a Marvel leading man, and his body had to follow suit. But the path to getting ripped for his role as Star-Lord was a literal endurance test, and it involved something pretty wild: two gallons of water a day.
In his own words, Pratt confessed to Vanity Fair, “I was peeing all day long, every day. That part was a nightmare.” Why? Because Marvel’s nutritionist, Philip Goglia, recommended a glass of water for every pound Pratt weighed, an amount that pushed the boundaries of what’s healthy. The exact weight Pratt carried during training isn’t clear, but considering his athletic build and height of 6’2”, it’s safe to guess that he could...

Currently, Star Trek: Section 31 is among the worst offerings that Star Trek has ever done. We're not just talking about television series as a whole, specific episodes, or films. We're including books, video games, virtual reality offerings, websites, fan experiences, and every other thing you can imagine that Star Trek has thrown its official branding on.
It's truly terrible. The scores don't lie. Rotten Tomatoes' critics have it at 19%, while the audience score is even lower at 16%. It's so bad, that it continues to fall even on Idmb, where it is now now at a 3.8 out of 10. There's no saving this film's reputation.
The thing is, this was always going to happen. While some will point to the uneven humor and attempts to turn Star Trek into a cheap Guardians of the Galaxy clone, the fact is this was a niche concept directed at Star Trek fans. It's why it...

James Gunn doesn’t need any introduction when it comes to superhero movie fans around the world. Although he had been a lifelong fan of comic books, his first venture into turning one into a movie wasn’t quite smooth. In fact, his first movie in the genre faced such difficulty that it took years to materialize.

While he had plans to weave a narrative tale of a wannabe vigilante donning a costume, luck wasn’t by his side at the time. He also revealed that he almost cast John C. Reilly as his first superhero, until luck got in his way.
Gunn reflected on the matter once in an interview back before he tapped into his Marvel and DC fame. Although the movie did get made eventually, even years later, it seems to have left...

Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s Kraven the Hunter is the latest (and hopefully the last) Ssu film to bomb at the box office. The superhero genre in general and Sony’s Spider-Man Universe in particular have lost millions of dollars recently. However, fans would be surprised to know that neither Kraven and Madame Web nor The Marvels are among the 10 lowest-grossing films of the 21st century.

If there’s one thing that spy movies always drive home, it’s that having kids always complicates the job. But, some of those movies also show you that bringing kids into the world of spies can also be pretty funny at times.
Take “Back in Action,” now streaming on Netflix, for example. The film centers on two CIA operatives who take an opportunity to fake their deaths once they learn they’re having a baby. Years later, they now have two kids, and because of those teenagers, their cover is accidentally blown.
What follows is a very complicated, but cool family adventure. And, after seeing it, you might be looking for more movies like it. Well, you’ve come to the right place.
Here are five family-friendly spy movies like “Back in Action” that you can watch next.

A new lawsuit is threatening to upend the release of director James Gunn's highly anticipated "Superman" movie this summer. Gunn, known for directing the "Guardians of the Galaxy" trilogy as well as "The Suicide Squad," is now the co-head of DC Studios at Warner Bros. He and producer Peter Safran are gearing up to reboot the DC Universe, with "Superman" serving as a centerpiece of the endeavor. Now, the estate of one of the superhero's co-creators has thrown a wrench in the gears.
According to Deadline, the estate of Joseph Shuster, who co-created the character alongside Jerry Siegel in the pages of 1938's "Action Comics" #1, has filed a suit in New York claiming that Warner Bros. doesn't have the rights to release "Superman" in several countries around the world. Mark Warren Peary, executor to the estate, is seeking "damages and injunctive relief for Defendants' ongoing infringement in Canada, the United Kingdom,...

James Gunn has quite the task on his shoulders – resurrecting the DC Universe and bringing to screen a line of live-action movies that comic book fans can get behind—no wonder the task will prove to be a difficult one. In the aftermath of the release of Superman‘s trailer, he must have come face-to-face with reality.
Fans can rest assured though. Gunn is a veteran after all, who knows real well what he is doing. The Guardians of the Galaxy director already has a roadmap ready for the universe. And to make things better, he is taking a cue from the best in business – Christopher Nolan.

We first got confirmation that Marvel Studios was planning to introduce Nova to the Marvel Cinematic Universe back in 2022, and since then, there have been conflicting reports about which medium the project was being developed for.
There was talk of Nova being a movie for quite a while, but we now know that the space-faring hero will actually be making his debut on the small screen after all, and we might know one of the actors Marvel is looking at the for the lead role.
The Hot Mic's Jeff Sneider believes that It Ends With Us star Brandon Sklenar could be on Marvel Studios' radar to play Richard Rider in the upcoming Nova series.
Sklenar's name might be familiar even if you haven't seen It Ends With Us, as the actor is a popular fan-pick to play the Dcu's Batman and has expressed interest in suiting-up as the Dark Knight on more than one occasion.

Love it or hate it, Rotten Tomatoes is now more important than ever when it comes to whether film and TV fans decide to check out the latest releases at home or in theaters, and it's not uncommon for studios to tout scores as proudly as star ratings.
Marvel Studios Animation has proven to be a big part of the Multiverse Saga with What If...? kicking things off in 2021. Since then, we've had a spin-off of a hit movie, a new take on the McU's Spider-Man, and a revival of one of the most beloved animated TV shows ever.
To mark the release of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, we're taking a look at how each of these shows compares based on their respective Rotten Tomatoes scores. There are no "Rotten" titles but where each of these sits is bound to be a point of contention.

The idea of animated features getting live-action remakes is nothing new, but the production of live-action remakes has obviously shifted into overdrive in recent years, with Disney bringing us the likes of Cinderella, The Jungle Book (again), Beauty and the Beast, Dumbo, Aladdin, The Lion King, The Lady and the Tramp, Mulan, Pinocchio, The Little Mermaid… the list goes on. And it seems like DreamWorks has been impressed by that animation-to-live-action business model, as they’re teaming up with Universal Pictures to bring a live-action remake of their 2010 animated feature How to Train Your Dragon to theatres on June 13, 2025. In anticipation of this release, we here at JoBlo have decided to put together a list of Everything We Know About the live-action How to Train Your Dragon… and here we go:

Exclusive: Grammy-nominated rapper Logic has boarded dark heist comedy Above the Line as an executive producer.
Logic’s producing partner Michael Holland also joins the project as co-executive producer.
The dark comedy tapping into Hollywood angst is the second feature of writer, director, and producer Jeffrey Scott Collins, after debut Poor Greg Drowning.
Described as combining the world of Swingers with the sensibility of Pulp Fiction, the L.A.-based comedy follows six Hollywood hopefuls who are roped into a harebrained plan to steal the Best Picture awards of a despised producer who has screwed each of them over as they struggle to make it big.
The film stars Cedric The Entertainer (The Neighborhood and The Last O.G.), Sophia Ali (Uncharted and The Wilds), Gregg Henry (Guardians of the Galaxy and Raising Cain), Adhir Kalyan, Reno Wilson, John Way and Jamie Lee (Crashing).
Collins directed the film from a script he co-wrote with Jono Matt. Ian Michaels (of America’s Burning) produced the film under the banner of Green Step Productions, plus Kemma Filby & Walker Barnes (of Bob Trevino Likes It) under the banner of Seasick Studios. Collins also produced under his production banner, This Seems Reel Entertainment.
“I have been a massive fan of the project ever since Michael sent me the script,” said Logic. “Jsc and I have a mutual love for the dark noir comedies of the 90s that have influenced this project. I’ve loved infusing my creative input into this film, and the music in it, and I can’t wait for the world to see it on the big screen.”
Collins said the collaboration worked on a number of levels.
“His music is not only bold, edgy, and incredibly entertaining, which is what we are striving for with this film, but his albums have always had an impressive cinematic quality to them, which I’m drawn to,” he said.
“He is a huge cinephile, and nerd, and the world will soon see how talented he is as a filmmaker. His creative input on the script, the characters, as well as the music, has been invaluable and we couldn’t be more excited about his and Michael’s involvement in the film”.
Cedric The Entertainer, who has worked with Collins on first feature Poor Greg Drowning, as well as the movie Why Him?, will also serve as Executive Producer. Other Executive Producers include Joe Grano, Ned Kisner, and Lan Kisner.

BioWare has been releasing underwhelming games for the better part of a decade now. And after the recent announcements of restructuring within the studio, fans don’t have a lot of hope or goodwill left for the upcoming titles in the Mass Effect series. But there is one reason to hold onto hope, and that is Mary DeMarle’s role as Senior Narrative Director.

On paper, the Marvel Studios animated series What If...? seems like one of the bigger risks taken since the Infinity Saga wrapped up back in 2018, but somehow what could have been a majorly unique and beloved homerun for the multiverse managed to deliver more misses than otherwise with an ultimately overall disappointing series being delivered to fans on the House of Mouse's streaming juggernaut. The best fans can hope for is that the massive multiversal misstep on the part of Team Feige manages to accidentally deliver a few chance nuggets of golden animated storytelling in the way a broken clock could even be right twice a day.
There are multiple reasons that What If...?'s quality being as lacking as it is might be bad for business and the future of the interconnected comics-based universes. For one, it's more unlikely than so that the future projects in animation from...

Tudum! Netflix has unveiled its wide-ranging 2025 film slate. During a news-packed “Next on Netflix” presentation featuring appearances from celebrity guests Tina Fey, Ben Affleck, John Mulaney and the Duffer brothers, the streamer teed up a packed year of movies.
Netflix has already released the Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz starrer “Back in Action” and the Oscar-nominated “Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl” this year. With its 2024 release “Emilia Pérez” nabbing 13 Academy Award nominations, the pressure is on for film chief Dan Lin to find the streamer’s next big critical hit while delivering sequels to audience favorites like “The Old Guard.”
Among the buzziest titles of the year are Guillermo del Toro’s “Frankenstein,” Rian Johnson’s next “Knives Out” film “Wake Up Dead Man” and Noah Baumbach’s newly-titled “Jay Kelly” with George Clooney.

I’m unsure if Netflix is trying to drum up some competition between spy thriller shows. The Recruit’s second season is set to stream this week, while the puzzlingly uber-popular The Night Agent’s sophomore effort premiered the week before. For my money, there is no competition.
Both shows are imperfect, but The Recruit has far more fun with its genre premise than The Night Agent. Led by heartthrob Noah Centineo, the second season offers thrills and laughs while smartly dropping some of the dead weight of personal relationships.
I’ll offer another hot take on the subject — The Recruit is smarter than the latter.

Star Trek: Section 31 is not a movie people like. We won't know anytime soon, if ever, how it performed with regards to the total amount of people who watched, or how it did with total hours streamed but we do know fans haven't been happy with it. Currently, with over 1,000 reviews, the fans of Rotten Tomatoes have given it a 17%. While bad films are pretty obvious, sometimes critics can't help themselves and buck against trends and narratives.
Even in this case, the critics can't deny how bad the film is. Usually, Nu Trek shows do well with the critics, but this film was destroyed by the Rotten Tomatoes critics. With nearly 40 reviews in, the film has a critics score of 22%. Made even worse, IMDb's scores have been updated and as predicted, the film is sitting at just 4.0 out of 10.
This film was a disaster and was one we all saw coming.

The road to the Oscars is always paved with surprises and this year the narrative has taken an unexpected turn. Ariana Grande, the pop sensation, has added another feather to her hat by winning the Best Supporting Actress award for her role as Glinda in Wicked at the Satellite Awards 2025.
While this win highlights Grande’s undeniable talent and growing versatility, it also spells bad news for seasoned actress Zoë Saldaña, who many hoped would finally claim her first Academy Award this year.

Dave Bautista’s Past Diet Rule (Photo Credit – Facebook)
Dave Bautista doesn’t play when it comes to his diet—he’s got a next-level clause in his contracts: he has to eat every four hours. No matter the project, the Guardians of the Galaxy star makes sure his stomach’s running on schedule. Power move? Absolutely. Honestly, who wouldn’t want that kind of setup?
But this isn’t about snacking for fun. Bautista’s all about discipline, staying fit, and keeping his focus sharp—especially with a packed slate of movies on deck. Sure, he kicked things off in the WWE ring, but his Hollywood grind needs just as much dedication.
In a 2021 Men’s Health interview, Bautista spilled his snacking secrets—think almond butter, banana, or a vegan, gluten-free grilled cheese. He’s plant-based chiefly but still sneaks in some fish a few times a week. Gotta keep it balanced,...

Marvel Games is in a pretty interesting position right now. While it enjoyed the unprecedented highs reached by the likes of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and Marvel Rivals, it also endured the low sales of Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy and Marvel's Midnight Suns. However, it's hard to deny the track record and reputation of the division were heavily hurt by the failure of one specific title: Marvel's Avengers.
Just like we once dreamed of the day Earth's Mightiest Heroes would assemble on the big screen, fans were eager to see them join forces in the video game world as well. Unfortunately, what should've been a pretty memorable experience was riddled with live service mechanics, battle passes, life-less maps, and a lack of gameplay variety. As simple as that, Square Enix's Marvel's Avengers was left to be forgotten right next to Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

James Gunn is known for bringing new life to stories, and now, as the co-ceo of DC Studios, he’s ready to make his mark on the DC Universe. He’s already shown that his vision will be different from what fans have seen before. While many people focus on the most well-known superheroes, like Superman and Batman, Gunn is looking at the bigger picture.

I’m not quite sure if the world needs a Star Trek film in 2025, but we’ve got one. Personally, though, I quite enjoy the franchise, although I don’t claim to be a Trekkie—it’s quite hard to keep track of all the films and series. Now, the good thing about the latest offering, Star Trek: Section 31, is you don’t have to be a Trekkie in order to watch it. Even if you haven’t seen anything from the franchise prior to this, you’re okay. Unfortunately, that’s the only good thing I can think of when it comes to Section 31 (that’s what I’m going to call it from this point). Sure, having an exciting cast led by very recent Academy Award winner Michelle Yeoh can be considered a positive, but that hardly does any good. Yeoh is making a comeback to the universe,...

Superman writer and director James Gunn has taken to Instagram to share a new, albeit familiar, look at the Dcu's Krypto. While this image will likely be familiar to those of you who watched the first trailer on repeat, the filmmaker has dropped a great hi-res shot of the adorable alien pooch.
The DC Studios co-ceo paired that with a piece of comic book artwork showing Superman flying through the skies of Metropolis alongside Krypto.
Gunn has previously described the Man of Tomorrow's relationship with Krypto as "complicated" and further elaborated on that point by saying, "You'll see in the movie that Krypto probably comes off as a better dog in the trailer than he is in the movie. Pretty terrible dog! You love him because he's a dog and how can you not? And he's got the cute, innocent eyes, but he's a terrible dog."

It touched upon Carmen’s childhood in the suburbs of Cleveland, Ohio, the rise of his power-pop group the Raspberries, their collapse just two years after scoring a massive hit with “Go All the Way,” the creation of his solo classic “All by Myself,” and his decision to largely abandon his career in the Nineties.

It’s packed with movies your kids will love it, and you’ll actually enjoy watching too.
What makes a movie “family-friendly,” anyway? Yes, it’s got to be safe for kids - no over-the-top violence, swearing, or anything you wouldn’t want your little ones repeating. But here’s the thing: it also needs to keep the adults (like me) entertained. Because let’s face it, nobody wants to sit through a movie that feels like a chore, no matter how kid-safe it is. The best family-friendly movies strike that balance… and that’s exactly where Disney+ shines. It’s not just a treasure trove of content you can trust your kids to watch - it’s also a platform loaded with movies that’ll have you laughing, reminiscing, or just genuinely enjoying yourself. Netflix's first big release of 2025, the spy action-comedy Back in Action, has been doing extremely well since its January 17 launch date, hitting over 46.8 million views within its first three days of release, which makes it the streamer's biggest opening weekened for an English-language film since 2022's The Adam Project.
Upon its release, we were able to catch up with director Seth Gordon (Horrible Bosses; Identity Thief; Baywatch) to talk about the family entertainer that stars Jamie Foxx (Spider-Man: No Way Home; Baby Driver; Collateral) and Cameron Diaz (Knight and Day; Charlie's Angels; Shrek) in the lead roles.
He walks us through uniting the iconic movie stars and their instant chemistry, shooting in London, and a whole lot more.

Based on Tos, it has been 16 years since the theatrical release of the rebooted Star Trek trilogy, which ended with Star Trek Beyond in 2016. With fandom anticipation for Star Trek 4 at an all-time high, according to Trekmovie.com, J.J. Abrams and “Deadpool & Wolverine” producer Simon Kinberg are attached as co-producers with a possible start of production in 2025.
Star Trek 4’s former director, Simon Kinberg, is out and tapped to write and produce a new Star Wars trilogy. Various outlets have reported that Star Trek 4 will be an origin story of 2009’s Star Trek movie instead of a previous Kelvin timeline plot.
Star Trek 4 will be in capable directing and screenwriting hands with Toby Haynes (“Andor” and “Black Mirror” director) and Seth Grahame-Smith (“Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” and “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter” screenwriter). With the Grahame-Smith Star Trek 4 script completed with a possible 2026 release date. Although, there are some uncertainties.

It turns out that when you make a Star Trek movie for everyone but Star Trek fans, it's going to fail. Gee, who would have thought that? Go ahead, be surprised. Let's all fake our shock that this poorly done attempt at a movie was going to be anything other than what it was; a shameless attempt to ride Michelle Yeoh's name, while putting as little effort and money into a project that was doomed from the start.
Everyone, it seems, hates this film.

There’s an old adage, taken from one of our holiest texts, that all nerds know well: “As sure as day follows night,” it goes, “sure as eggs is eggs, sure as every odd-numbered Star Trek movie is shit”. Technically Section 31 is “Star Trek 14” so we should be onto a winner. Alas, it doesn’t fit the pattern. That’s probably because this straight-to-Paramount+ special never really feels like a movie at all. It’s more akin to the double TV episodes they used to stitch together for VHS release, though it falls some way short of the best of those. Section 31 doesn’t have the budget or the onscreen weight to justify the “film” label. In the old days we’d have called it a “TV movie” or “straight-to-video”.

Robert Eggers reminds me of the babe. What babe? The babe with the power to finally, at long last, bring a sequel to Jim Henson‘s Labyrinth into the world! A day after announcing his Werwulf film project for Focus Features and Nosferatu coming to digital platforms, Robert Eggers confirms he’s writing and directing a Labyrinth sequel for TriStar Pictures. Labyrinth is one of my favorite films of all time, and the thought of Eggers taking the reins for a sequel to Jim Henson’s 1986 classic fantasy film is giving me life!

We are fully in the throes of awards season with the Golden Globes behind us and, more importantly, the Academy Awards just around the corner. The 2025 Oscar nominations were announced recently and we now know which movies will be competing for the coveted Best Picture prize. That list includes several critical darlings such as "The Brutalist" and "Anora," and it also features a couple of surprises -- perhaps most notably Mubi's body horror flick "The Substance." But one of the nominees is not like the others, because it's by no means a critical favorite.
Netflix's "Emilia Pérez" has the worst overall critical approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes of the ten movies nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars this year. As of this writing, it holds a so-so 76% approval rating from critics on the site, with 237 reviews counted. More amazingly, it holds an abysmal 34% audience approval, suggesting that quite...

Chris Pratt has revealed his house has survived the ongoing Los Angeles wildfires.
“I’m going to check out my house. Miraculously, it’s still standing. By the grace of God, we have four walls and a roof,” the Guardians of the Galaxy star said late Wednesday on his Instagram page.
Pratt, reporting via a video from his car as he returned to his fire-ravaged Pacific Palisades neighborhood, said his son’s school burned down, as had many of his friends’ own homes. “I haven’t been back since the Palisades fires. It’s truly devastating, as you know, and yeah, the silver lining is my house was saved. But at the same time, so many people’s houses were burned around us, and the community is gone,” he added.
“It’s just, it’s just wild, and we’re resilient and we trust in God and consider it all a blessing.

Review: I am often an apologist when it comes to big franchises. I have overlooked a lot in Marvel, DC, and Star Wars in favor of pure, unadulterated entertainment. Since Star Trek returned to the small screen in Alex Kurtzman’s expanding portfolio of Paramount+ series with Discovery, I have found a lot to enjoy in each series. While Prodigy and Lower Decks have taken a new angle to Gene Roddenberry’s creation through animation, Picard mined nostalgia for The Next Generation. At the same time, Strange New Worlds harkened back to the heyday of The Original Series.

We’ve waited nine long years for a follow-up to Justin Lin’s Star Trek Beyond. S.J. Clarkson’s sequel faltered and failed. Noah Hawley’s reboot never got out of space dock. Even Quentin Tarantino’s unexpected foray got sucked into a pre-production black hole. So, in the absence of a big-screen voyage to please the Trekkie faithful, the franchise has since set phasers to streaming, ushering in a vibrant new era of TV Trek under the auspices of Alex Kurtzman. It’s from that side of the aisle that Paramount+ draws its first Trek TV movie, with this long-gestating spin-off from Star Trek: Discovery.

The film highly undermines this character and fails to give her the depth and design necessary to help the audience resonate with her. However, the game, on the other hand, does a great job of building her from the ground up and doing justice to her skills and other attributes.

James Gunn has commented on his next DC Universe project. As the creative chief of DC Studios, Gunn has a role to play in every new project the comic book giant envisions for the big and small screens. However, he has gone beyond that, as the Dcu's Chapter One begins with three projects created by Gunn. He wrote and directed the TV-ma animated series Creature Commandos, the Dcu's first overall project, David Corenswet's Superman, the franchise's first movie, which premieres in July, and Peacemaker season 2. Instead of slowing down, Gunn is already working on a new DC project.
On Threads, James Gunn said he is already "pre-writing" the DC Studios project he takes on after Superman and Peacemaker season 2.
The DC Studios co-ceo did not specify whether his upcoming DC project would be a movie or a TV show. However, before he revealed he was dedicating "a fair amount...

Despite two decades in the film industry, two Academy Award nominations, and multiple roles in blockbuster movies like Blood Diamond and Gladiator, Djimon Hounsou has revealed he is still fighting for fair compensation in Hollywood.
Speaking recently on CNN’s African Voices Changemakers, the 60-year-old actor shared the harsh realities of being a black actor in the film industry. “I am still struggling to make a living,” Hounsou said. “After 30 years… maybe the first 10 years were about trying to establish myself. But I’ve been in this business making films for over two decades, and yet, I’m still underpaid.”
Hounsou, who received Oscar nominations for In America (2003) and Blood Diamond (2006), noted that despite his accolades and experience, he often encounters lowball offers for his work. “I still have to prove why I need to get paid,” he explained. “They always come at me with: ‘We only have this much for the role,...

We first met the Nova Corps in 2014's Guardians of the Galaxy. However, James Gunn wasn't interested in bringing Richard Rider to the big screen - he wanted to keep the focus on only one human character - and the Corps was portrayed as little more than a regular intergalactic police force.
Avengers: Infinity War strongly hinted that Thanos had laid waste to them, though that doesn't mean Marvel Studios can't still find a way to reintroduce them, with the superpowered Richard Rider among those tasked with protecting the wider universe.
Much has been said about what we can expect from the series in recent days, including plans for classic Fantastic Four villain Annihilus.
Today, scooper Daniel Richtman brings word that there's an open casting call out for the McU's Richard. He also reveals that Marvel Studios/Marvel Television is not set on Nova being white, meaning we could see...

Warning: Contains potential spoilers for Phoenix #7!
In her space adventure series, the Phoenix has just brought together some Marvel Comics heavy-hotters to form an all-new superhero team to go up against Thanos. Drafting an eclectic mix of cosmic characters, Jean Grey flexes her friendships and alliances apart from the X-Men by assembling a powerful lineup, which she’ll need to defeat the Mad Titan and his ancient weapon with abilities that even the Phoenix can’t beat alone.
In the preview for Phoenix #7– written by Stephanie Phillips, with art by Marco Renna – Jean and her new team discuss Thanos’ plan to use the Warlock's Eye to achieve universal domination. Though Phoenix could take on Thanos solo, the special mind-controlling weapon with origins pre-dating Asgard itself means she needs some assistance.
Jean Grey’s cosmic super-team officially consists of Captain Marvel, Nova, Rocket Raccoon, and Sif; with a pretty solid group of Marvel heroes,...

James Gunn may have gone to the other side and taken over DC Studios, but his stint in blockbuster filmmaking began with Marvel. The director made the runaway hit Guardians of the Galaxy, which firmly established Gunn as a filmmaker with a unique vision, great ability to handle a lesser-known IP, and a killer taste in music.
Gunn’s last stint with the MCU was the 2023 film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3. The film was all the more emotional than its predecessors due to its focus on Rocket’s backstory. The emotional ride was reportedly too much for WWE star Liv Morgan, who admitted to crying the entire time.

James Gunn is currently awaiting the release of his first film in the Dcu Superman, which sees him return as director after two years.
