“Sleep all day. Party all night. Never grow old. Never die. It’s fun to be a vampire.” The CW is looking to tap into the fun and frightening concoction of Joel Schumacher’s The Lost Boys, as they are developing a TV series based on the beloved film.
Deadline broke the news about The Lost Boys TV series, which is being developed and written by Rob Thomas (iZombie, Veronica Mars) at The CW in conjunction with Gulfstream TV and Warner Bros Television.
According to Deadline, the series is being planned by Thomas as a massive seven-season story that would follow an immortal group of vampires (the Lost Boys) as they live through the triumphs and tribulations of each decade. Each season would be set in a new decade, with the debut season expected to take place in San Francisco circa 1967.

Corey Feldman has a lot to be thankful for on his 45th birthday. The former child star, who turned 45 on Saturday, recently released a new double-album titled Angelic 2 the Core, which had been in the works for over a decade. "I feel very grateful and very lucky to be alive still, to have any kind of semblance of normal life," he tells the AP. "I am blessed to have a beautiful child, a beautiful home, a beautiful girlfriend and a beautiful career ... I don't take any of it for granted." This is the fifth album Feldman has released under his recording moniker,...

The Lost Boys was a landmark of ‘80s horror, released at a time when the two Coreys were forces to be reckoned with at the box office and big hair was the name of the game. Despite bringing in $32 million at the box office on a budget of $8.5 million, a sequel didn’t emerge until 2008, when the direct-to-dvd followup The Lost Boys: The Tribe (starring original cast member Corey Feldman, with a cameo by the late Corey Haim) was released to withering reviews but impressive numbers, with nearly $6 million in sales for Warner Premiere. That was followed by 2010’s The Lost Boys: The Thirst, also starring Feldman. Here’s the thing: I doubt many fans of the first movie consider the two direct-to-dvd followups to be worthy successors to the Joel Schumacher-directed original, which was critically well-received at the time and remains a beloved title to this day. Here...

It's billed as a sequel to Cloverfield, but is 10 Cloverfield Lane all it seems? We take a look at the subject of unrelated sequels...
In an era where it's just about impossible to make a high-profile movie without at least something leaking onto the web, producer Jj Abrams seems to have pulled off the ultimate coup in recent months: he and his company Bad Robot have secretly created a follow-up, of sorts, to the 2008 hit monster movie, Cloverfield.
On the 15th January, a trailer landed for 10 Cloverfield Lane, a claustrophobic horror thriller that Abrams described in a statement to Collider as a "blood relative" of that earlier film directed by Matt Reeves.
The premise is this: Mary Elizabeth Winstead's character, Michelle, is injured in a car accident and wakes up in a bunker with 40-something survivalist, Howard (John Goodman).
Howard tells Michelle that some kind of...

What's the only thing worse than a sequel? The only prospect worse than paying £10 at your local cinema to have your favourite movie ruined, forever. The answer has three words. Straight-to-video.
In the '90s, home release sequels became fairly common. You'd greet them with surprise at your local Blockbusters and then want to pull your eyeballs out when you took them home and watched them. They're probably called straight-to-dvd or straight-to-Blu-ray now, but they still exist.
With the announcement that Dolph Lundgren will be starring in Kindergarten Cop 2 (because of course), here are 21 absolute stinking sequels - the vast majority of which weren't even considered good enough for the cinema. How many of them have you watched?
1. American Pie Presents: Band Camp
2. American Pie Presents: Beta House
Maybe it's the Eugene Levy factor - just why did he keep starring in all the sequels?! - but we have weird...

In true 80’s nostalgia fashion, I’ve been hyped about seeing this film since I’ve seen the poster. Yes, a poster sold me on the movie – just the way I grew up watching movies in the late 80’s & 90’s. Anchor Bay just announced the release date for the 80’s slasher homage, Lost After Dark.
If you thought the 80s were dead — think again! On September 1st, Anchor Bay Entertainment goes full 80s retro with Lost After Dark, a loving but harrowing homage that takes audiences back to the decade when slashers ruled the silver screen. The exciting directing debut of writer/director Ian Kessner, Lost After Dark proudly features visceral, old-school prosthetic “kills,” and pop songs pulsing to an electronic beat. So thrown on a pair of acid wash jeans and go full-on tubular with Lost After Dark! Srp is $26.99 for the Blu-ray™ and $22.98 for the DVD, with pre-book on July 31st.

When he walked into the room, he nearly blotted out the sun that was peering through the hotel window while shining brightly on the 2014 San Diego Comic-Con. There I was, ready to go one-on-one with the demon Kane, and I managed to come out without a scratch.
Before I begin, at this time I'd like to thank Kane for not chokeslamming me when I tried putting him in a sleeper. Of course I kid, but he was eyeballing some chairs and tables ominously during our interview about the resurrection of Jacob Goodnight for the Lionsgate / WWE Studios film See No Evil 2.

WWE Studios is resurrecting the demon Kane as Jacob Goodnight in See No Evil 2, the upcoming sequel to See No Evil, but before speaking with the mammoth monster himself, we had the opportunity to sit with stars Danielle Harris and Kaj-Erik Erikson as well as directors Jen and Sylvia Soska.
"In the movie I play Amy," Harris (pictured) tells us of her character. "Amy works at the morgue and loves her job, dropped out of Med School to pursue it because she feels like at the end of the day we all end up here anyway."
"She’s got some family issues, issues with her brother, issues with her mother … not too far from real life. *laughs* I just so happen to be working, on my character's birthday, the night that … we pick up where the last one left off and there’s all these bodies … I’m always...

The flavor of bile is unmistakable. There just isn’t anything that tastes quite like it. And you know it when it comes on: The belly rumbles, the esophagus lurches within, and you battle back the slimy liquid that threatens to spew forth from your lips.
It’s a nasty experience. We all hate that sensation so we’re taking measures at Dread Central to help prevent such a situation from occurring.
See, there are horror sequels out there that are so horrifically bad they somehow trigger something in our internal systems... and the belly begins to rumble. We wish you no stomach troubles here, and we certainly wish the taste of bile on no man or woman. So we’re going to provide you with a list of sequels to avoid at all costs because if you check these out, you’ll be searching for the toothbrush in no time!

The likable vampire seems like somewhat of a paradox. Since the earliest incarnation of count Dracula, the vampire has typically been somewhat of a reviled species. However, over time, it has been scientifically proven (no it hasn’t) that audiences find vampires irresistibly sexy and dangerous but charming.
Contemporary vampire fiction has forever changed the landscape of vampire cinema and television. We now see vampires cast as the protagonists and antiheroes in movies and TV, as opposed to being almost exclusively cast in the role of the villain. Anne Rice was a pioneer of vampire fiction in her heyday and still continues to be. She was undoubtedly a huge inspiration for L.J. Smith (The Vampire Diaries Books) and Charlaine Harris (The Sookie Stackhouse Novels). Both authors have further changed the light in which vampires are portrayed, both in fiction and on the big and small screens. We didn’t forget to mention Stephanie Meyer.

Warner Bros has shut down Warner Premiere, it's straight-to-video division. The company was launched at the height of the DVD boom in the mid-2000s, when consumers bought movies made specifically for home entertainment. "Given the continuing decline in the direct-to-video film market, the decision was made to close Warner Premiere," Warner Bros said in a statement. "The division will continue and complete production on its remaining film and digital series projects into the fall." Warner Premiere was behind "Lost Boys: The Tribe" and "Lost Boys: The Thirst," as well as "Get Smart: Bruce and Lloyd Out of Control," "Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning," and "The Hills Run Red." The company is looking to release "A Christmas Story 2" on DVD and Blu-ray on October 30th. In the sequel, Ralphie (Braeden Lemasters) is a teenager and has his sights set on a new toy for Christmas: a 1938 Hupmobile Skyline Convertible.

Horror fans waited years for a sequel to the much beloved film The Lost Boys. Finally it came, and we all wished we had just kept waiting. Things thankfully turned around slightly in the third film, and it did well enough to warrant a fourth. But ... is it happening?
MovieWeb got Edgar Frog himself, Cory Feldman, to talk about it and the potential TV spin-off in a recent interview.
"No, this is not a done deal. I have never said that. I have said that we are hoping that it happens," says Feldman. "I would like to see it happen. And I have been working on some story ideas with writer Hans Rodionoff. We have been discussing where a future trilogy will go, if we were to implement that. Where a TV series might go, if we were to implement that. At this time, we have not been given the...

Tremors? Nightbreed? Sundown: The Vampire in Retreat? 976-evil? Are all on the list this year. And though there were not huge horror wins in sound editing through screenplays, the Technical Awards never cease to bring out the horror veterans. Notably Tim Drnec who contributed to such VHS classics as Alien Seed, Destroyer, and Prison won for his work on “Spydercam 3D volumetric suspended cable camera technologies.” An award also shared with Ben Britten Smith and Matt Davis who both also worked on Constantine.
But among all the winners, the Academy also honored some great loses in 2010. And though they mentioned some of our heroes, Dennis Hooper (Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2), Kevin McCarthy (Invasion of the Body Snatchers) and Dino de Laurentiis (King Kong), they did not mention Zelda Rubinstein or Corey Haim. But we will in this last section and the others lost to us last year.

We waited years for a sequel to the classic The Lost Boys to come our way. When it did, Lost Boys: The Tribe made us wish we had kept waiting. The third film, Lost Boys: The Thirst, corrected a lot of what was wrong with the sequel but still kind of missed the mark. Enter today.
According to Bloody Disgusting Warner Premiere is coming incredibly close to officially announcing a fourth Lost Boys film that would once again bring Corey Feldman back as the infamous Edgar Frog. Bd also confirmed that a TV series is in the works although there's no timeline for a potential pilot presentation.
We'll keep an eye on things and let you know what we come up with. In the interim, what say you guys? Yay? Nay? Or no way!

Heh. “Big tits save lives.” That’s funny. The rest of the dialogue? Not so much. We all know by now that “Friday Night Lights” alum Adrianne Palicki has landed the Wonder Woman role for David E. Kelley’s reboot, but before that news broke last night, a lot of Hollywood’s starlets were looking to land the gig. One of them was Tanit Phoenix, a South African born model turned actress who can recently be seen in “Death Race 2″ and before that, “Lost Boys: The Tribe”. While the video doesn’t mention or ever come right out and say that this is an audition tape for the “Wonder Woman” TV show, the clues are all there, including a recent script review of the pilot that had Diana worrying about toys based on her superhero character.

When the long-non-awaited semi-sequel to the cult classic The Lost Boys hit the video store shelves last year, the loyal horror fans gave it a slightly-interested look, if only out of respect for the 1987 original. It's safe to say that most of those fans were displeased with The Lost Boys 2: The Tribe, and that's me being nice. Truth be told, the thing was a piece of crap, and that's an opinion from a guy who has no problem recommending, Wrong Turn 2, Death Race 2, and movies even goofier than those. (Part 2.) So it was with much listless disdain that we (some of us) decided to throw another 90 minutes at the franchise when Part 3, "The Thirst," showed up. Now, this is generally what's known as...

No modern vampire film is closer to my heart than the original Lost Boys, but after seeing the utterly terrible sequel, Lost Boys: The Tribe in 2008; I longed for a way to erase it from my memory. Imagine my surprise that I would even entertain the notion of actually watching a 2nd sequel.
After finding out that Corey Feldman was bumped up to a starring role I guess I figured that, after being in some of my favorite films from the '80's, he deserved another chance. Besides, I have never been a Corey hater. Sure he's done some bad movies since, but what child star hasn't? I kept an open mind while watching The Thirst, but I still expected it to fall apart at any minute. Call me crazy, but it never did. It's an entertaining, campy little romp and a welcome change from The Tribe.

When was the last time you longed to explore a spectacular underground realm of twisting passages, outrageous booby-traps and a long-lost pirate ship full of golden doubloons? It was probably around the same time you last sighed hopelessly about a girl in your class, when social networking sites, mobile phones and I-pods weren’t corrupting your adult life, even if they are pleasant distractions from death, debt and Jeremy Kyle.
There are some, however, that still hold on to that dream. I often wake, head hurting from last night’s Vino, the thought of work buried in the deepest, darkest part of my duvet, asking myself what difference it would make if instead of going to work I would unfurl that mysterious treasure map and head off to Astoria. Wouldn’t it be great to go on a Goonie adventure? Wouldn’t it be great if the Goonies went on another adventure?...

Well this is... odd. According to a press release that was sent out earlier this morning, The Weinstein Company and Miramax Films are launching a new partnership that will allow them to create sequels to a whole slew of popular films from the Miramax catalog. The first movies that are currently slated to get sequels include Bad Santa, Rounders and Shakespeare in Love, while the following titles may also get sequels and/or television spin-offs: Bridget Jones’s Diary, Copland, From Dusk Till Dawn, Swingers, Clerks, Shall We Dance, and The Amityville Horror. We had heard rumours about sequels to a few of these films already, but this deal is sounding dangerously similar to Warner Premiere, the direct-to-video arm of Warner Home Video that has churned out stuff like Lost Boys: The Tribe. There's no mention of them actually being Dtv releases, but I'd say there's a pretty good chance...

Corey Feldman seems to think a generation of nostalgic fans are foaming for a new adventure. But is that really a good idea?
First it was Indiana Jones. Then Tron. Now there's a fighting chance The Goonies will become the next important childhood touchstone to be given a belated sequel.
Possibly. The prospect of The Goonies 2 comes up time and time again, but nobody seems to actually know how concrete the plans are. Josh Brolin has spent much of the year talking about it, but you get the feeling that he's only doing that because it's much easier than trying to publicise Jonah Hex. Steven Spielberg might be interested. There might already be a script, and it might have been written by the man who gave us Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Original director Richard Donner has said that he'd prefer to turn the film into a Broadway musical. Jonathan Ke Quan,...

Perennial 80’s star Corey Feldman has been talking about Lost Boys: The Thirst, the second sequel to the 1987 classic, and the future of the teen vampire series.
Talking to MovieWebb, Feldman seems to be the sole figure (particularly after the death of previous co-star Corey Haim earlier this year) spearheading the return of the franchise and after only a two year gap between ‘Thirst’ and the first sequel (Lost Boys: The Tribe) he’s interesting in jumping aboard again if the market for yet another sequel is there.
“Next time around hopefully we can incorporate even more stuff that I was looking to get in. I definitely don’t want to be going backwards so I want to make sure that each time we do it, if we are going to do it again, its got to be bigger and better than the last one.”
Feldman should focus his energy...

Well, this damn Lost Boys franchise refuses to die, and no one dares to raise the Stake Of Mercy when there's still a buck to be made on the direct-to-dvd front. Please consult the Lost Boys: The Tribe review for further insights upon this unholy matter. Now, onto today's scheduled programming:

The Frog brothers are back and they’re backier than ever! Er, I mean, froggier than ever? Well, it’s one of those things. Corey Feldman continues his career resurgence with a third “Lost Boys” movie (the second to go direct-to-dvd, counting 2008′s “Lost Boys: The Tribe”), joined once again by Jamison Newlander, who this time around actually gets to, you know, be in the movie proper. “Los Boys: The Thirst” is now available on Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD, On Demand and for Download from Warner Home Video. As the lost boys and girls of San Cazador prepare to party under the Blood Moon, an alpha vampire conspires to turn these unsuspecting ravers into an army of undead. The only thing that stands between him and the annihilation of the entire human race is the infamous vampire fighting Frog Brothers. Armed with double-barrel holy water balloon launchers and multi-arrow crossbows,...

When "Lost Boys: The Tribe," the sequel to Joel Schumacher's 1987 vampire cult hit "Lost Boys," didn't get its planned theatrical release back in 2008, it seemed like a stake had been driven directly into the heart of the potential franchise. But thanks to fans' unquenchable thirst for "The Tribe" on DVD, Corey Feldman is once again sporting his signature red headband as Edgar Frog, vampire hunter extraordinaire, in the appropriately titled "Lost Boys: The Thirst," now available on Blu-ray and DVD.
With his pal Sam (Corey Haim) dead and his brother Alan (Jamison Newlander) turned half vampire, a down-but-not-out Edgar joins forces with a new crop of hunters to take down the evil Djx, who's been building a bloodsucking army by dosing people with vampire blood at raves. But enough about the plot. You want to see the clips. The first is a nice little treat in which Edgar crosses...

Lost Boys: The Thirst (now on DVD and Blu-ray from Warner) begins five years after Alan Frog (Jamison Newlander) was bitten during an assault on a Washington, D.C. vampire coven. Edgar Frog (Corey Feldman) once again takes center stage in this latest franchise entry, which hews closer to the original’s spirit than the abysmal Lost Boys: The Tribe…but that’s not saying much.

Continue to cry, little sister, because another installment of the growing The Lost Boys franchise is heading to DVD today. The sequel, Lost Boys: The Thirst, sees the reunion of the Frog brothers, Edgar (Corey Feldman) and Alan (Jamison Newlander), for the first time since they joined the late Corey Haim to battle the surf-side bloodsuckers in the 1987 original. While Feldman returned for Lost Boys: The Tribe, Newlander only appeared in an alternate ending. For the third installment, Feldman has promised that The Thirst will deliver for the fans, and recently told Collider what to expect from the Frog brothers this time around.

Just in time for Halloween, the Lost Boys franchise continues with the latest direct-to-video sequel Lost Boys: The Thirst, which follows after The Lost Boys (1987) and Lost Boys: The Tribe (2008). If you had told me when I was eleven that 23 years later I'd be speaking to the Frog brothers, my little head would have exploded. Who would have thought the vampire killers from Joel Schumacher's The Lost Boys would still be in business? Needless to say, they are - together again in Lost Boys: The Thirst ( review ), coming to DVD and Blu-Ray October 12. Earlier this month, I found myself sitting across from Corey Feldman and Jamison Newlander (aka Edgar and Alan Frog) to discuss their reunion in the second sequel to spin off from the '87 film. Shock Till You Drop: How soon after Lost Boys: The Tribe wrapped did real talks of a third entry start? How much say did you have in the creative process? Corey Feldman: Tad Hilgenbrink is out! In 1987 the horror genre was dominated by the slasher fad of that decade. Zombies were mostly something seen only in Italian gorefests with the name Fulci attached. Ghosts and supernatural films were few and far between. Vampires ... well, vampires had been neutered and reduced to whiny flouncy boys by the likes of Anne Rice.
Seemingly out of nowhere came a film that introduced a young audience to a new, hip breed of bloodsucker in The Lost Boys. These vamps, while retaining the inherent sexiness of Rice’s Louis and Lestat, were, by their actions, a callback to the more vicious creatures made popular by the likes of people like Christopher Lee. The Lost Boys was nothing short of a cultural phenomenon and a film that served as a touchstone for the zeitgeist of the time.

Once upon a time, a long time ago (23 years, to be exact), there was a film called 'The Lost Boys.' It focused on this little town called Santa Clara, and the vampires who plagued it. Jason Patric's Michael followed his lust (to Jami Gertz) and found himself mixed up with the bloodsuckers, while mom started dating the secret head vampire. Corey Haim's Sam found some kiddie vamp hunters in the Frog Brothers on his quest to get rid of the menace, and Barnard Hughes' Grandpa turned out to be a lot less clueless than everyone thought. The film was a classic, busting past genre barriers and becoming one of the '80s must-see features.

Corey Feldman isn't shy about expressing that the second installment of The Lost Boys franchise, Lost Boys: The Tribe , was a bit lackluster. He uses it as an example to explain why the third film in the trilogy, Lost Boys: The Thirst , is so much better - better from a script perspective, better from an action perspective, better from a vampire perspective. Not only does The Thirst reunite the Frog brothers, Shock had its own reunion with both Feldman and Alan Frog himself, Jamison Newlander, during the recent San Diego Comic-Con '10 where they were promoting the upcoming DVD release of The Thirst . Shock: Give me a set up for The Thirst and how it factors into the trilogy. Corey Feldman: The first film made its mark by being a staple in pop culture and that's what...

In the world of direct-to-dvd sequels that's shortly to bring us Lost Boys 3, all an enterprising studio needs is the rights to a good title and a director who's willing to work fast
Lost Boys 3, the second sequel to Kiefer Sutherland's 80s vampire hit, is coming out later this year. What? You missed Lost Boys 2? Don't worry, so did Kiefer (although it does feature his half-brother Angus).
