Marvel Comics' Avengers famously have a constantly-rotating line-up. Now, the team has some perennial figureheads — Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor are the team's key trinity in both the comics and Marvel Cinematic Universe. But ever since 1964's "The Avengers" #16, "Earth's Mightiest Heroes" hasn't been as exclusive a club as the name implies. Avengers take leaves of absence, new ones join in the interim, etc. The MCU is currently discovering that movie audiences may not be as receptive to this revolving door as comic readers; there's a reason Chris Evans is returning in "Avengers: Doomsday."

The current "Avengers" comic series, written by Jed MacKay, started off with a very classical team line-up: Captain Marvel, Iron Man, Captain America (Sam Wilson), Thor, Black Panther, Scarlet Witch, and Vision. In "Avengers" #18, MacKay (who is also writing "X-Men" right now) added Storm to replace the departing Thor.

What If…? might have started out as a great concept to explore alternate realities and story arcs in the MCU, but there has been a sharp decline in that concept due to multiple reasons. While it introduced some brilliant characters into the Marvel multiverse, such as Captain Carter, T’Challa Star-Lord, and Sinister Strange, it sort of fell off the table of interest when it decided to pursue an overarching narrative instead of the multiple stories that the series could have explored.

One such story that fans would have loved to see is a grander take on key moments in the MCU history. Such as, What If The Avengers Lost to Loki, What If The Other Half was snapped in Infinity War, or even more cerebral takes, like What If The Avengers Won Against Thanos the first time around?

While Avengers: Doomsday has changed a lot since it was first announced as Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, one rumour has continuously cropped up about Earth's Mightiest Heroes facing a Multiversal lineup of evil doppelgangers.

They've previously been described as the "Masters of Evil" and, according to scooper @MyTimeToShineH, the latest version of Doomsday will see "The Avengers will fight evil versions of themselves."

Whether this means Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr., for example, are pulling double duty as Captain America and Captain Hydra and Iron Man and Doctor Doom remains to be seen. That does feel like the direction this movie is heading in, though.

There's not much that comic book movie fans agree on, but it seems everyone hates Captain America's costume from 2012's The Avengers. Something was lost in translation between World War II and the present day, but attempts were made to right the ship.

In Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Steve Rogers wore his "Stealth Suit" from the comics before donning his old WWII gear. 2015's Avengers: Age of Ultron then gave him a look that would carry through to the rest of his MCU appearances.

However, Ryan Meinerding, Character Designer, Creative Director, and Marvel Studios Head of Visual Development, tried to make things right the year before. In the newly released Marvel Studios: The Art of Ryan Meinerding, the artist confirmed the overhauled suit - which combines his 2012 and 2015 costumes - was cut from The Winter Soldier.

Marvel Comics owes a lot to Stan Lee’s imagination, given that the late comic book legend was responsible for some of the most popular characters to come out of the Silver Age of comics. Stan Lee’s unique style, something that resulted in the creation of the likes of Spider-Man, The X-Men, and The Fantastic Four, was once brought over to Marvel’s biggest rivals, Detective Comics, to create versions of some of their most popular characters.

While fans and audiences are aware of the various origin stories of characters like Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman, Stan Lee was able to put his own spin on these characters, such as turning Superman into a Space Cop and making Batman a professional wrestler. The stories were part of the Just Imagine… initiative, which saw a slew of other characters be reimagined by Stan Lee as well.

Marvel Studios is the leader of the comic book superhero movement right now. It's been that way since Iron Man first burst onto the scene in his 2008 solo flick, as the Marvel Cinematic Universe grew and expanded into a phenomenon unlike anything else in existence at the time. With The Avengers and a long-term threat for them to battle, audiences tuned into every installment throughout the Infinity Saga while the size of those audiences increased each time The Avengers returned to take on whoever stood in their way.

Marvel has a reputation for giving the fans what they want. From the epic, long-term storytelling that the franchise pulled off throughout the Infinity Saga to its ability to bring back beloved faces from Marvel's own past in the Multiverse Saga, few know how to deliver fan-favorite affairs quite like those in charge of the MCU.

While there were tentative plans for The Avengers when Iron Man was released in 2008, it wasn't until the movie's closing moments - with the mention of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Nick Fury's cameo - that we got a taste of a shared universe. Ford v Ferrari, for example, was released in Britain under the name Le Mans ’66 due to prohibitions on using brand names in British films. The Avengers was called Avengers Assemble, for fear that people might think someone had remade the terrible Ralph Fiennes spy movie of the same name. Zootopia was called Zootropolis because Disney apparently enjoys arbitrarily messing with people.

What I’m trying to say is this: there is precedent here. If an American film has a title that seems like it might be problematic, or misleading, or offensive, or rude, producers have no qualms with just changing the name to something else.

Excitement for Captain America: Brave New World has risen significantly in recent days, in large part due to the release of a new "Special Look" and extended UK trailer.

Today, we have a new comic book cover featuring a closer look at the costume designs for both Sam Wilson/Captain America and Joaquin Torres/The Falcon. These two are expected to see a lot of aerial action in the movie but can Marvel Studios recapture the dynamic Steve Rogers had with Sam in their previous team-ups?

That remains to be seen but Captain America: Brave New World looks set to be one of Phase 5's most important releases as Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars draw near.

Kevin Feige’s MCU will be bringing back Chris Evans for the upcoming film Avengers: Doomsday and with the return of Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, it seems like Marvel Studios is grasping at all strings to deliver a blockbuster. Since Avengers: Endgame, the franchise has been stumbling hard and has only had some spikes in its graph.

However, bringing back fan-favorite characters who have had their arcs completed may not be the best idea to improve the MCU. While it may have worked with Hugh Jackman in Deadpool & Wolverine, Feige needs to do something else to make the franchise great again. Author George R.R. In the past two decades, Marvel Studios has completely changed the face of cinema. Superhero movies were always a fixture of the Hollywood landscape, having found footing in the '70s and '80s with Superman: The Movie and Batman, but Kevin Feige's Marvel Cinematic Universe built out a whole shared universe full of them, starting with 2008's Iron Man.
