Featured review
This film is about Elizabeth's long journey to find the man she loves, and interesting people she meets along the way.
"My Blueberry Nights" is a different kind of love film. The girl leaves behind a broken heart, set of to find an adventure, and meets various people. It adequately explores various emotions, namely love, hate, guilt and dishonesty. Each of the character is striking in their own way, they are all well developed and portrayed. Arnie's alcohol addiction and tragic ending is heartbreaking. What is even more engaging is Sue Lynne's subsequent guilt. Her confession by the flowers is deeply touching. People don't know what they have got until it is too late.
The whole film is atmospheric and beautiful. Everything on the screen is well composed, especially the lighting. Even the slow close up shots of the Jaguar, which could have been dull and uninteresting, is beautiful. The director successfully presents the scene as if the car is to be admired and envied. All the soundtrack are mesmerising, and it is an enjoyment just to watch the film for the soundtrack. I feel very drawn to the whole film's atmosphere. The artistry of "My Blueberry Nights" is already worth the price.
