It was a big enough surprise when Harrison Ford agreed to return to the Star Wars franchise as Han Solo, so the fact he's joined the MCU - as a Red Hulk, no less - is still pretty mind-blowing.

Making his debut in Captain America: Brave New World next month, the actor appears excited to board a franchise he's watched many of his contemporaries have fun in. Beyond that, only time will tell whether Red Hulk is a one-and-done villain or a key part of future stories.

Ford isn't the first actor to play Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross as the late William Hurt was originally cast as the antagonist in 2008's The Incredible Hulk. He took an extended break from the MCU before returning in Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and Black Widow.

Daredevil: Born Again has undergone major changes since first being announced by Marvel Studios with a creative overhaul upping the action and bringing the series more in line with Netflix's Daredevil. 

Showrunner Dario Scardapane has already suggested that the Man Without Fear's She-Hulk: Attorney at Law cameo will be ignored due to it not fitting in with Born Again's darker, violent tone. Now, Kingpin actor Vincent D'Onofrio has strongly hinted that the super-strong Wilson Fisk we saw in Hawkeye has become a little more grounded.

Captain America: Brave New World releases in just over two weeks. This Valentine’s Day, Sam Wilson will make his big screen debut as Captain America, having already made his screen debut as Captain America in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Betty Ross is one of the more forgotten characters of The Hulk’s mythos, whether it be the films or comics. She appeared last in the MCU back in 2008, when Edward Norton was the Incredible Hulk. Essayed by the likes of Jennifer Connely (in Ang Lee’s Hulk film) and Liv Tyler (in the MCU), Betty Ross has always served as the ‘beauty’ part of the Beauty and the Beast dynamic she has going on with Bruce Banner and the Hulk, much to Thaddeus’ charging. Charlie Cox has made three appearances as Matt Murdock in the MCU. The first came in Spider-Man: No Way Home when he was revealed to be Peter Parker's "very good" lawyer. He later suited up for a fight scene in Echo but by far his biggest role was in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.

In that series, the Man Without Fear squared off with Jennifer Walters before spending the night with his fellow lawyer. Tonally, his role was far more comedic than what we saw on Netflix but still very much in line with the comics (particularly Mark Waid and Chris Samnee's critically acclaimed Daredevil run).

Fans were divided on whether that was the best use of the Man Without Fear and it sounds like Daredevil: Born Again will be keeping things far more serious and in line with his previous solo series.

These days, crafting a standalone Marvel story feels almost impossible, especially with every project tied into the bigger MCU web. Daredevil: Born Again showrunner Dario Scardapane knows this all too well. While planning the Disney+ series, he quickly learned how the MCU’s larger plans could limit creative freedom.

In an interview with SFX magazine, Scardapane explained that while he had creative flexibility early on, some ideas had to be reworked because they clashed with Marvel’s grand strategy.

Following last night's international poster, we have a Japanese teaser for Marvel Studios' Captain America: Brave New World, along with a better look at one of several popcorn buckets that'll be available in theaters in the build-up to the movie's release next month.

The TV spot is mostly made up of previously-seen footage, but it begins with some new shots of President Ross (Harrison Ford) meeting with a high-ranking Japanese diplomat.

According to some leaked plot details, The US and Japan will butt heads when the latter takes control of the Adamantium reserves mined from the Celestial known as Tiamut, who was frozen mid-Emergence towards the end of Eternals.

Full press screenings for Brave New World aren't expected to take place until early February, but we're hearing that 30-minute previews are being held a lot sooner (possibly even next week), and social media reactions will be allowed afterwards.

Captain America: Brave New World's Anthony Mackie opened up about working alongside legendary star Harrison Ford, as well as their previous time working on the same movie, Hollywood Homicide. In the upcoming MCU film, Ford plays Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross/Red Hulk, an antagonist to Mackie's Sam Wilson/Captain America.

Since Iron Man blasted into theaters way back in 2008, Marvel Studios has changed the game for superhero movies. Of course, not every movie or TV show they've released has been perfect and, yes, at least a few of them could be considered downright bad. 

Overall, though, the MCU has an impressive batting average, knocking these adaptations out of the park time and time again. We'd be lying to say at least some significant creative missteps haven't been made along the way, and it's those we're taking a closer look at today. 

This doesn't cover all of them and every fan will likely have their own take on what should be considered a creative misstep (Blade's Eternals voice cameo and Ms. Marvel's new powers are two ideas that didn't make the cut). Ultimately, we think you'll agree that these particular blunders are hard to forgive.

In Ultimate Wolverine #1 by Chris Condon and Alessandro Cappuccio, readers are finally introduced to the Wolverine of Earth-6160, but - in this continuity - Logan goes by a different codename: the Winter Soldier. Not only are readers given his full backstory right in the first issue (which is incredibly refreshing for a Wolverine comic), but they’re also shown one of his assassination missions.

Tickets for Captain America: Brave New World go on sale later today and we now have a "Silence Your Phones" theater PSA featuring never-before-seen footage from 2025's first MCU movie.

Throughout this sneak peek, there are instances of Harrison Ford's President Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross growing increasingly angry. These scenes are clearly meant to hint at his eventual Red Hulk transformation, arguably the biggest reveal here.

Up until now, the prevailing theory has been that something happens in the final act that makes Ross "Hulk out" against his will. However, this promo suggests he'll be struggling with "anger issues" throughout the entirety of Captain America: Brave New World as the Commander in Chief tries to fight off his inevitable transformation.

Will Red Hulk return to fight another day or is this a one-and-done role in the MCU for Harrison Ford? That remains to be seen, though we'd be shocked if...

The upcoming Disney+ show Daredevil: Born Again brings the old team back together from Netflix's original Daredevil series, with Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) and Foggy Wilson (Elden Henson) all returning to fight the good fight. But so too is the original show's central villain: the all-powerful Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin, who's back with a vengeance and once again played by Vincent D'Onofrio.

The original Daredevil series ran for three seasons on Netflix. Garnering a dedicated audience, the show is regarded as one of the greatest Marvel projects of all time. Unlike a lot of what produced by Marvel Studios, the show was brutal, gruesome, and gritty, showing fans a side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe rarely explored onscreen. However, the show was sadly axed after Disney decided it didn't want any Marvel series debuting new episode anywhere other than on its own proprietary platforms.

Charlie Cox's Daredevil will undoubtedly be a key figure in the new era of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Matt Murdock has made a few appearances in the MCU so far, but they've been nothing more than cameos. For instance, he was Peter Parker's lawyer in Spider-Man: No Way Home. In addition, he appeared in the MCU shows She-Hulk and Echo.

Come March, Cox's Daredevil will be properly introduced into the MCU in Daredevil: Born Again. The series brings back the old team from Netflix's original Daredevil show. The nine-episode debut season brings us up to speed with Murdock's story, re-introducing fans to Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) and Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson). Wilson Fisk, aka the Kingpin, is now mayor, which will surely lead to no end of difficulties for our heroes.

Phase 1's The Incredible Hulk dropped a nod to a classic Hulk character that may finally get to make his first on-screen MCU appearance more than seventeen years later. Hulk hasn't had a movie of his own since Louis Leterrier's 2008 The Incredible Hulk. Nevertheless, the McU's Hulk has completed a full arc across several appearances as a supporting character. Hulk's status as a founding member of the Avengers, his time as an intergalactic gladiator, his role in saving the universe, and the reconciliation of his two personas have already been explored throughout the years.

One drawback of Hulk's lack of solo movies is that his friends and enemies haven't had the chance to appear in the MCU as often as other Marvel characters. The trailer for ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ dropped yesterday, and fans are thrilled for what’s to come. It confirmed that several key characters will return, including Jon Bernthal as The Punisher and Wilson Bethel as Bullseye.

Warning! Spoilers for What If...? Galactus Transformed Hulk? #1

The Hulk is getting ready to battle Galactus, and I have a feeling he won't be fighting alone. Bruce Banner's intimidating alter ego is one of Marvel's most fearsome fighters around, and thanks to the Power Cosmic, he's officially become strong enough to face Galactus. Still, even Hulk can't eliminate this destructive god on his own, so I predict he will form a new team for that very purpose.

In What If...? Galactus Transformed Hulk? #1 by Mat Groom, Lan Medina, Juancho Velez, and Travis Lanham, the Hulk is appointed as Galactus' latest herald. He ends up abandoning his duties before long, though, and the story ends as he charges after Galactus in a fit of rage.

The Hulk's status as Galactus' most gentle herald does not mean he isn't prepared to fight, but he'll need all the help he can get.

Hulk is one of the most complex heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), with some incredible moments featuring the angry green giant throughout his various appearances. Early box office tracking for Captain America: Brave New World indicate a debut domestic opening ranging between $81-107 million. This report from Box Office Theory also places the Marvel Cinematic Universe's total domestic haul at a range of $195 million to $280 million. These numbers are fairly standard among previous Captain America films, with the notable exception of Captain America: Civil War. According to Box Office Mojo, the first Captain America film opened on the lower end at $65 million, while Captain America: The Winter Soldier debuted with a $95 million domestic weekend gross.
