- An R2 Uncut Version has been released in Germany.
- Although the UK cinema version was intact, all video releases suffered 2 minutes 1 sec of BBFC cuts for "pervasive and gloating" violence. Among the cuts were shots of limb breaks, the red-hot poker in the eyes scene, lengthy shots of people on fire, the slicing off of Dane's fingers in the helicopter door, closeup shots of ingredients used in bomb making equipment, and heavy edits to all scenes featuring closeups and glamorized use of knives. The uncut version has recently been shown on UK television. The UK Blu-ray version is also uncut.
- The Blu-ray version used the 2003 Warner Bros. Pictures variant as both the opening plaster and additional closing logo.
- Post-2010 prints had also adding the 75th anniversary variation of the final 20th Century Fox logo after the in-credit Warner Bros. logo.
- German retail video and TV version were cut for violence to avoid a "Not under 18" rating.
- The US Region 1 DVD, amongst others, restores the violence/knife play missing from the UK edition, but some of the footage is still missing due to MPAA interference; Ryback stabbing one eyed terrorist in neck while blood pours out, and longer and more brutal final fight between Ryback and Penn, at one point Ryback pushes Penn onto hot cooker which is why he has a large mark on his face after falling down the stairs.
