There is the iconic scene where a nude female (Lia Beldam) steps out of the bathtub and kisses Jack Torrance (Jack Nicholson). She pulls the curtain back very slowly and stands up. The score throughout the movie is incredibly eerie and over the top creepy. It applies to the atmosphere of tension, mystery, terror and suspense that sets the tone of the film. The soundtrack is meant to be visceral, disturbing, overlapping, loud, unsettling, maniac, and sudden. The music is what also makes the film very terrifying, suspenseful & also very exciting to watch but it might give the audience a headache.

Due to the dark nature of the story and creepy atmosphere, this movie gives off an uncomfortable vibe from start to finish.

Although not so graphic, the movie implies an intensive atmosphere in many different scenes. Very disturbing for sensitive people.
