Did iconic directors refuse to helm Star wars prequel? (Photo Credit – Wikipedia)
Well, guess what? They all said no. Why? Because sometimes even legends don’t want to mess with the mythos. Ron Howard spilled the galactic tea in a 2015 Happy Sad Confused podcast interview. Lucas had approached Spielberg, Zemeckis, and Howard (Apollo 13 genius) with an offer no filmmaker could refuse—or so you’d think.
But all three turned him down. Howard revealed, “They all said the same thing: ‘George, you should do it.’ I don’t think anybody wanted to follow up that act at the time. It was an honor, but it would’ve been too daunting.”
This wasn’t Lucas’s first rodeo with delegation. After a grueling experience directing A New Hope, he let Irvin Kershner and Richard Marquand handle The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. His plan for the prequels?...

Supernatural certainly raised its stakes over the years. Starting the series off with a mere demon being the main antagonist, this drastically changes around the final seasons, with God, the Darkness, and a secret elite order of hunters called the Men of Letters. Considering how smooth the progression has been, fans cannot help but adore how far the Winchester brothers came from hunting a yellow-eyed demon.

However, one of the most iconic and beloved jumps that the series took when it came to stakes was when Castiel was introduced. Going from a pessimistic setting to suddenly finding out that angels were real and very socially awkward certainly did wonders for the brothers and the story itself.
With this, one cannot help but wonder where showrunner Eric Kripke got this idea from. During an interview, he confessed that the roots were, in fact, in the Star Wars franchise.

The following contains spoilers for the latest episode of "Star Wars: Skeleton Crew."
"Skeleton Crew" is a delight. While it's as far removed from "Andor" as "Star Wars" shows get, it still manages to deliver fun, whimsy, and frequently scary adventures in the galaxy far, far away, week after week. "Skeleton Crew" also combines the world-building and iconography of "Star Wars" with the swashbuckling fun and dangers of titles like "Treasure Island," "Indiana Jones," "Peter Pan," and "The Goonies."
Though it may be an all-ages show starring kids, there are plenty of terrifying moments to be found in "Skeleton Crew." After all, the show's kids are up against bloodthirsty pirates more than willing to skin their enemies alive and boil their guts for the fun of it.
"Skeleton Crew" doesn't need lightsabers and Jedi either, even if one of the main characters can use the Force. Still, Jude Law's...

Not all dreams in Hollywood come true. Kevin Feige, President of Marvel Studios and keeper of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, who gave billions of fans a world of heroes to dream about, once lost an incredible opportunity. When it comes to exploring the galaxy far, far away, Star Wars persistently remains out of his reach.

A decade after establishing the MCU, Feige had expanded his vision board to include a Star Wars film in his highly valuable docket as well. However, time and politics made a mess of all things to come after Disney co-chairmen Alan Horn and Alan Bergman moved offices before Feige’s vision could come true.
Now, the movie that comprised one of the best writer-producer pairings in Hollywood and as such, had great potential remains shelved in a dark corner of the Disney vaults.

Robert Downey Jr. is one of the biggest actors in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And since his success and recently earning his first Oscar, his worth has certainly increased manifold. Having made a fortune already through his Marvel career, the actor is expected to earn a high paycheck when he returns as Doctor Doom.

Ever look at that vest-wearing, blaster-firing renegade Han Solo and wonder if he likes tossed salad and scrambled eggs with his blue milk? Well, there was a time when he might have, given that before Harrison Ford became captain of the Millennium Falcon, Frasier Crane himself, aka Kelsey Grammer, had a crack at the role.
Speaking to Conan O'Brien about his brush with the galaxy far, far away in 2018, Grammer recalled how he nearly ended up starring in "Star Wars: Episode IV -- A New Hope." After being thrown out of Juilliard in the mid-1970s, he was put in touch with an agent who advised him "there's a guy two blocks up the street but he's looking for young men for this movie about outer space. His name is Lucas. Go see him."

And starting with the very first installment, filmmaker George Lucas made clear to audiences that he was telling a saga out of order. The title “Episode IV: A New Hope” underlined there was both a past and a future beyond the 1977 film, and indeed this saga has moved forward and backward in time throughout its history, telling a number of different kinds of stories in a galaxy far, far away.

It’s nearly impossible for modern audiences to imagine a time when Star Wars was not the cultural phenomenon it is today. However, Mark Hamill, our beloved and iconic Luke Skywalker, recently reflected on his first encounter with George Lucas' script, revealing that even he found it baffling at the start.
On the iHeart podcast Politickin', Hamill candidly shared his initial thoughts and the confusion he felt when reading the audition dialogue, which he described as a "fairy tale pretending to be science fiction." According to Screenrant, Hamill’s first read-through of the script left him perplexed. Lucas was equally vague, urging them to "just do it" and promising they’d talk later — a conversation that, Hamill joked, never actually happened.
I read the one scene and you couldn't make heads or tails out of it. I said to Harrison [Ford], who I tested with, I said 'You were in American Graffiti.

Rogue One, one of the most divisive but also most loved movies in the Star Wars franchise, celebrates its eighth anniversary this week. According to many, this film, starring Diego Luna and Felicity Jones, is not only one of the best movies of the decades-spanning space opera but also has the most breathtaking, spine-chilling scene of the series.
The sequence comes during the final few minutes when a Rebel Alliance squadron is trying to escape with the stolen Death Star plans that Cassian Andor, Jyn Erso, and their ragtag team sacrificed their lives for. As a small group of soldiers get stuck in a hallway, the corridor goes dark. Then, they hear the franchise's most iconic sound effect:
Darth Vader breathing through his mechanical suit.

One of the most popular animated characters in the world is set to make her debut at Walt Disney World and Disneyland next year: Bluey, the heeler dog and star of the hit Disney+ series Bluey.
The addition of Bluey to the Disney theme parks and Disney Cruise Line comes amid an expanded partnership between Disney and BBC Studios, the commercial arm of the BBC that distributes the popular Australian animated series, and Ludo Studio, which produced the program.
Earlier this week the companies announced that a Bluey movie would arrive on big screens in 2027, with Disney leading distribution. Bluey creator Joe Brumm is writing and directing the film.
The deal is notable because Disney uses its theme parks and cruise ships to highlight its own intellectual property, so featuring a third-party character (albeit one with a following on a Disney platform like Disney+) is unusual, to say the least.

Desert Planet. Sandworms. An Orphan Chosen One. An Order of Magicians vying for political control. An oppressive Emperor. Secret Lineages that intermingle the protagonist and the antagonists. Is it Star Wars, or Dune?
Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker in Star Wars: A New Hope
While George Lucas has never admitted anything about Star Wars being taken from Dune, the film definitely has a lot in common with the novel that came before it. While Lucas has largely ignored these comparisons, Frank Herbert is a little more sure that the legendary director might have taken inspiration from his seminal science fiction novel.

Chicago – It’s last minute gift time! Let’s start with something perfect for a Star Wars fan. A long time ago (1978) in an America far far away, the one and only showing of the “Star Wars Holiday Special” took place on CBS-tv. The infamous show is chronicled in a new book “A Disturbance in the Force,” written by Steve Kozak.
The full title is “A Disturbance in the Force: How And Why the Stars Wars Holiday Special Happened” and Kozak takes a deep dive into the history and audacity of how this special came to be … which is of this date still not acknowledged as part of the canon by the Lucas/Disney confluence, even though it had most of the original cast participating and was the first story beyond “A New Hope.”

Pennsylvania state senator Doug Mastriano seemingly fell for the viral fake photo of a Star Wars Tie fighter circulating on the internet. These fictional spacecraft were used by the Palpatine-led Galactic Empire's fleet and were first spotted in the 1977 movie, Star Wars: A New Hope.
The original post, intended to be a meme, showed the life-size replica of the sci-fi prop on the back of a commercial truck and labeled it as a "crashed drone" found in Orange Beach, Al.
There's currently a stir about drones in the skies over New Jersey, with conspiracy theories floating around and politicians trying to use the panic to score political points. That seems to be what Mastriano was doing when he commented on the shot of the Tie Fighter on Tuesday, December 17, Sen. Mastriano said: "It is inconceivable that the federal government has no answers nor has taken any action to get to...

The Star Wars films contain dozens of notable cameos. Some are subtle, while others are far more obvious (Jack Black and Lizzo in The Mandalorian). But one secret cameo may rule them all: legendary western star John Wayne was in Star Wars: A New Hope, released in 1977.
You'd be forgiven for never noticing his brief appearance in the film, especially considering most fans didn't know for years that the cameo even existed. The whole thing might've been forever forgotten if not for legendary sound designer Ben Burtt, whose credits include the original Star Wars trilogy, E.T., Raiders of the Lost Ark, and Blade Runner. Speaking with Star Wars Blog years ago, Burtt revealed that the character Garindan, played by Sadie Eddon in A New Hope, is actually voiced by none other than The Duke himself, John Wayne.

To offer clarity at the start, the nine main "Star Wars" movies are the nine theatrically released live-action features with Roman numerals in the titles that make up what's known as the Skywalker Saga. They were released in chunks of three, which is why they're referred to as three separate, individual trilogies. There's "Star Wars: Episode IV -- A New Hope," "Star Wars: Episode V -- The Empire Strikes Back, and "Star Wars: Episode VI -- Return of the Jedi," which together form what's commonly known as the original trilogy. After that came "Star Wars: Episode I -- The Phantom Menace," "Star Wars: Episode II -- Attack of the Clones" and "Star Wars: Episode III -- Revenge of the Sith," which make up the prequel trilogy. Lastly, there's "Star Wars: Episode VII -- The Force Awakens," "Star Wars: Episode VIII -- The Last Jedi," and "Star Wars: Episode IX -- The Rise of Skywalker,...

Last week, Young Jedi Adventures received four The Children's & Family Emmy Awards nominations. It joins a respectful list of Star Wars animation that has received both nominations and awards from the Emmys. What other TV series have been honored by the Academy?
Here is every Star Wars Emmy Award win or nomination
As early 2013, Star Wars: The Clone Wars received several nominations and awards for both animation and children's programming for the Daytime Emmys. It was nominated 15 times during its run and won five times during that span. The wins included winning Outstanding Special Class Animated Program twice.
David Tennant, who has voiced the droid Huyang on The Clone Wars, Ahsoka, and Young Jedi Adventures, won Outstanding Performer in an Animated Program in 2013 for voicing the character during the series's fifth season. Tennant was not the only actor to be honored by the Emmys. Jim Cummings, Mark Hamill, and Sam Witwer...

Every year, film buffs assemble online to see which 25 movies will be added to the Library of Congress' National Film Registry -- a list that includes titles you'd expect like "The Godfather," "Star Wars: Episode IV -- A New Hope," "Thelma & Louise," and "Casablanca." For 2024, the new additions bump the Nfr's total catalog to 900 films, bringing in classics and modern classics alike in a crop of movies spanning decades.
For sci-fi fans, the main attraction this year will likely be "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan." The 1982 theatrical sequel is still held up as one of the high watermarks for the entire "Star Trek" franchise, and in the eyes of many fans, its greatest singular achievement. Spock's noble sacrifice in the film has gone down in history alongside the Darth Vader reveal and the "tears in rain" monologue from "Blade Runner" as an all-time iconic sci-fi moment.

Steven Spielberg is not just one of the best directors of all time, but he's also an avid cinephile. It's all the more curious, then, that he has a rather peculiar opinion about the "Star Wars" franchise.
Back in 2002, Spielberg told Cinescape that, out of all the "Star Wars" movies made up to that point, "Star Wars: Episode II -- Attack of the Clones" was "my second favorite just behind ['The Empire Strikes Back']," as the filmmaker put it. "It was great. The action scenes looked like George [Lucas] had been inspired by James Cameron because they were as good as any of the action scenes in ['Terminator 2: Judgement Day'], and I think George did his best directing with this one too."
Now, who am I to argue with Spielberg about his personal opinion? Still, it's funny that he heaped praise on "Attack of the Clones," itself perhaps the maligned out of the prequel trilogy.

The Worst Christmas Specials Ever: A Bah Humbug Celebration of Holiday Flops!
While most of us are busy waxing nostalgic about the Charlie Brown Christmas Special or the timeless brilliance of How the Grinch Stole Christmas, let’s take a sharp detour down a frosty lane of shame. Because for every magical Christmas special, there’s a baffling, cringe-worthy disaster waiting to ruin our eggnog. These are the holiday specials so bad, so misjudged, they make a lump of coal look like a thoughtful gift.
So, hang your stockings, but don’t expect anything good inside. Let’s dive into the worst Christmas specials ever made.
1. The Star Wars Holiday Special (1978)
When it comes to bad Christmas specials, this is the undisputed champion of cringe. Aired only once (and for good reason), The Star Wars Holiday Special is an excruciating two-hour fever dream centered on Chewbacca’s family celebrating “Life Day.

Marvel’s next project in the Avengers saga, Captain America 4, will bring back the Red Hulk through industry veteran Harrison Ford. With a career spanning over 4 decades, Ford has starred in some of the most iconic roles in the history of cinema. The veteran actor shot to fame with his portrayal of Han Solo in Lucasfilm’s Star Wars: A New Hope.

Thie article contains mild spoilers for "Star Wars: Skeleton Crew."
"Skeleton Crew" is the best thing to happen to "Star Wars" since Tony Gilroy turned the franchise into the best political thriller on TV this decade with "Andor." A delightful homage to '80s Amblin movies, "Skeleton Crew" is also the live-action "Treasure Planet" adaptation some of us have been clamoring for. It's a show full of whimsy and has a sense of wonder and peril that's been missing from "Star Wars" lately. Most of all, it's a true swashbuckler that unfolds in a world of pirates (hence the "Treasure Planet" comparison).
One of the best aspects of the show from a technical perspective is its creature work. Not since the famous cantina scene in "Star Wars: Episode IV -- A New Hope" have there been so many different creatures and aliens so prominently displayed all at once in a "Star Wars" project.

"Skeleton Crew" is a delight -- a "Star Wars" show with a sense of wonder and adventure we haven't seen in years. It feels like a live-action "Treasure Planet" TV show, with a group of kids in search of a legendary missing planet filled with boundless treasure while on the run from pirates.
One of the most fascinating aspects of the show is its central mystery, which is all about the planet the kids come from: At Attin. This is basically Anytown, USA but in space -- a suburban town complete with schools, buses, cul-de-sacs, and probably space malls, too. It was the most jarring thing about the show when trailers and images first started getting released. Why would there be such an obvious '80s town in "Star Wars?"
Well, it seems that's the point. "Skeleton Crew" is making it very clear that the plot is all about the mystery of At Attin,...

British pop star Robbie Williams got candid as he addressed the persistent speculation about his sexuality in an interview with The Guardian discussing his biopic “Better Man.”
“I’ve done everything but suck a cock. Honestly, you’ve never met somebody that wants to be gay as much as me,” said Williams about his 2005 libel case against a tabloid that claimed he had engaged in “homosexual encounters.” He added, “You want to be an ally while at the same time protecting your own authenticity and your own life.”
Reflecting on his early career performing at gay clubs with Take That, Williams recalled, “When I went into the gay world there was none of that [violence]. There was total acceptance and humour and gay abandon. And safety.”
Helmed by “The Greatest Showman” director Michael Gracey, “Better Man” chronicles Williams’ journey from his early days in Take That to his struggles with substance abuse and mental health.

As Skeleton Crew is starting its streaming run and Andor is preparing for a release in April, the next live-action series set in a galaxy far, far away is getting ready to begin filming. The second season of Ahsoka is preparing to start production. This season, though, will be overseas in the UK. According to Indiewire, they are moving from Los Angeles to the United Kingdom. The series will begin filming in April 2025. That is a tentative date and may change.
Ahsoka joins the Star Wars projects to film in the United Kingdom
Ahsoka premiered in the summer of 2023. The first season was filmed in Los Angeles. It joined Skeleton Crew, The Mandalorian, and Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Star Wars series filmed in the LA landscape. It would not be the first time that Lucasfilm has shot projects in the UK. George Lucas had a history of filming outside of the United States.

The following contains spoilers for the latest episode of "Star Wars: Skeleton Crew."
There's something off about Jude Law's character in "Star Wars: Skeleton Crew." In the first episode of the show, he went by the name of Captain Silvio. In the second episode of the show, he introduced himself to the kids he helped break out of jail on Port Borgo as the Jedi Jod Na Nawood. In the series' third episode, however, Kh'ymmm refers to him as Crimson Jack. It would stand to reason he'll get yet another alias in the next episode as well. It might even prove to be a running gag, with Law's character getting a fresh alias in every episode.
Be that as it may, the alias he gets from the very cool owl/otter creature Kh'ymmm in the latest episode, Crimson Jack, has a long history dating back to the very beginning...

Spoilers for "Star Wars: Skeleton Crew" episode 3 to follow.
A galaxy far, far away has introduced a brand new collection of characters with "Star Wars: Skeleton Crew," one of whom only just made his debut at the end of the second episode that premiered last week. Donning the classic attire of a Jedi but feeling like anything but is Jude Law as the mysterious Jod Na Nawood, who is also going by the name of Crimson Jack.
Landing somewhere in the hyperspace between Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and Captain Jack Sparrow, there's clearly more to Jod than meets the eye, particularly if the show's events -- coupled with "Skeleton Crew" toy packaging descriptions in the real world -- are anything to go by. Firstly, there's the fact that Jod/Jack seemingly used the Force to get him and his new crew mates out of the slammer and away from danger.

Good news, Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi fans; there may be more "brotherhood" in the works, according to Hayden Christensen.
Christensen attended GalaxyCon Columbus, where he shared an exciting update about Anakin and Obi-Wan's future. The X user @crabtree_cody revealed that Christensen was kind enough to chat with several fans in attendance. In a conversation with the actor, one fan told him that he and McGregor needed to get together for some more Anakin and Obi-Wan, "before it's too late."
Christensen replied to the fan and said, "We got some stuff brewing," which may hint that more projects starring the duo are under discussion. While this can be anything, including flashbacks in Ahsoka season 2, which will be filmed in the UK next year, it's more likely that Christensen just dropped a hint about Obi-Wan Kenobi season 2.
Hayden Christensen is so kind. Dude chopped it up with everyone for a hot minute.

A New Hope and the rest of the Star Wars trilogy may be preserved and pristine, but there’s something wonderfully tactile about the untouched theatrical print.
The 20th Century Fox logo wobbles as its accompanying fanfare tinnily rings out. An Imperial Star Destroyer roaring overhead is joined by scratches and splotches of dust. Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi glide into a rather subdued Mos Eisley with just one Dewback as a background extra.
These are just some of the wonderful sights and sounds you’ll find in a set of early Star Wars prints you’ll find in certain corners of the internet. Essentially, these are versions of the original trilogy as they were released in 1977, 1980 and 1983 respectively – with all their flaws, quirks and practical effects still intact. Scanned from some old prints of Star Wars (later A New Hope), The Empire Strikes Back and Return Of The Jedi,...

Star Wars under Lucasfilm, helmed by George Lucas, grew to be a juggernaut in Hollywood even before Disney acquired the media giant for $4 billion. While there have been a slew of opinions about what Disney has been doing with the IP, there seems to be nothing more devastating than how George Lucas looked after finalizing the deal.

Rogue One is still seen as one of the best Star Wars movies, even eight years after its release. The film is a prequel to Star Wars: A New Hope and tells the story of rebels stealing the Death Star plans, leading to the Rebel Alliance’s first victory. Known for its darker tone, strong story, and visuals, it earned over $1 billion and inspired the prequel series Andor.
Andor has finished its first season, and the second (and final) season is set to premiere on April 22, 2025. Felicity Jones’ Jyn Erso, a key character in Rogue One, didn’t appear in season 1 because, during that timeline, Jyn was still a prisoner of the Empire and not connected to the Rebellion. With season 2 covering a broader timeline with time jumps, fans wonder if Jones will return as Jyn.

‘Rogue One’ is still, eight years after its release considered to be one of the best Star Wars installments. The movie serves as a prequel to ‘Star Wars: A New Hope,’ following a group of rebels who steal the Death Star plans, leading to the Rebel Alliance’s first victory against the Empire. Praised for its darker tone, story, and visuals, the film grossed over $1 billion worldwide and inspired the prequel series ‘Andor.’
‘Andor’ already has one season behind it with the second and final season expected to premiere on April 22, 2025. Despite having a massive, arguably the most important role in ‘Rogue One,’ Felicity Jones’ Jyn Erso was not a part of ‘Andor’ season 1. It didn’t make sense to include the character at all considering that during the events of the first season, her character would not be associated with Rebel Alliance as she was a prisoner of the Empire.

When I saw the trailer for Skeleton Crew, my first thought when I saw the sprawling suburban environment was that this was not the Star Wars I know and love. In fact, the images drew an immediate link to Madeleine L'Engle's novel A Wrinkle in Time. Within that franchise, there is a city without individuality or creativity that bears some resemblance to Wim's neighborhood. Although the show looked fun, I wondered whether the personality of Star Wars could survive in such a place.
I figured the purpose of this safe, modern town was to draw contrast to the grungy, pirate-infested worlds the children would encounter later. Of course, this is partially true. However, upon viewing the first episode, I was struck by how well the Star Wars aesthetic was still able to thrive within more sterile environments.
This isn't the first time Star Wars has explored cleaner worlds. Leia...

Denis Villeneuve has a very storied filmography, and it shows that the director takes his inspirations and favorites very seriously. Villeneuve, over the years, has listed some very popular films as among his favorites, such as 2001: A Space Odyssey, and The Empire Strikes Back.

Villeneuve has gone on record to say that both the aforementioned films had given the director some sort of trauma or the other. While the opening of 2001: A Space Odyssey had a deep impression on the director, Villeneuve has also revealed that he was very excited as a child for Empire Strikes Back, which left a very deep impression on him as well.

Felicity Jones is open to returning to ‘Star Wars’.The 41-year-old actress starred as Jyn Erso in 2016’s ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’, and although her character was killed off by the end of the film, Jones has now said she would consider reprising her role in a future project set before the events of the prequel film. When Screen Rant asked ‘The Theory of Everything’ actress on whether she had completely shut the door on ‘Star Wars’, she said: “I mean, never say never. “She's a pretty bad-a** character. Maybe she could come back as a hologram or something, which is completely possible in the ‘Star Wars’ universe.”‘Rogue One’ - which also starred Diego Luna, Donnie Yen, Ben Mendelsohn and Mads Mikkelsen - followed a rag-tag team of rebels as they desperately try to steal the plans to the Galactic Empire’s new terrifying weapon, the Death Star.

Be it Dune or Arrival, Denis Villeneuve has been very sophisticated when he presents stories about space and aliens. So it makes sense that a film like 2001: A Space Odyssey left a big and lasting impression on the director. An interview during the BAFTA Awards revealed what exactly about the film got to him, and how it has influenced him when it comes to films in general.

2001: A Space Odyssey is one of the few films that have come to define an era in science fiction cinema, like some other offerings from Hollywood like Alien and Predator. 2001: A Space Odyssey is a film that has been infinitely praised for the work that Stanley Kubrick did on it, often ending up on lists of some of the most influential directors of our time.

At first glance, the "Star Wars" franchise and "Monkey Island" video game property seem very different. The former is a space-themed adventure set in a galaxy far, far away. The other is about puzzle-solving, seafaring voyages through the Caribbean. That said, both sagas feature pirates and they're associated with Lucasfilm, so they aren't completely alien to each other. Furthermore, their connection has only grown stronger thanks to the tremendous Amblin-inspired "Star Wars: Skeleton Crew" series on Disney+.
"Skeleton Crew" tells the story of a group of kids who encounter space pirates while embarking on a spirited adventure across the galaxy. The series draws upon a variety of influences, including the aforementioned point-and-click adventure games. While speaking to SFX Magazine (via GamesRadar), co-showrunner Jon Watts explained what the "Monkey Island" games mean to him, and how they informed the creation of "Skeleton Crew":

This article contains spoilers for the first two episodes of "Star Wars: Skeleton Crew."
Back in the day, "Star Wars" used to deal with the fear of the unknown quite a bit. "Episode IV -- A New Hope" alone has plenty of scary moments: Darth Vader (David Prowse, with James Earl Jones providing the voice) is a creepy, unstoppable monster. The Empire is a faceless force of oppression. Animalistic, screeching Tusken Raiders stalk the deserts of Tatooine and nearly end young Luke Skywalker's (Mark Hamill) journey before it even begins. Homesteads and planets are destroyed, countless people die, heroes are trapped in a trash compactor with a monster ... you name it. The other two entries in the original trilogy also have their share of hair-raising moments, from Han Solo's (Harrison Ford) horrifying carbonite prison to the nightmarish fate that befalls anyone cast in the Sarlacc pit.

The first two episodes of the new “Star Wars” show Skeleton Crew dropped on Disney+ last night at 9 Pm Est. I watched them this morning. While they are a fun 80s-style Spielberian/Lucas-esque show that reminds me of “The Goonies,” “Explorers,” and even “Treasure Planet,” they aren’t exactly “Star Wars” yet.
The show is going for the time period the original trilogy came from (70s and 80s). It definitely has throwbacks to the original trilogy. However, if you took the “Star Wars” references out and made them something else entirely, it wouldn’t change the story too much. That said, we still have six episodes to go, which could change.
Jude Law isn’t in the first two episodes all that much, as the story mostly focuses on the kids and how they get a starship. But the kids are mostly fun and interesting, each with a distinct personality.

Spoilers ahead for the first episode of "Star Wars: Skeleton Crew."
"Star Wars" is known for a lot of things. Lightsabers. Swashbuckling action. Tyrannical villains. Daring escapes. True love. Soul-searing music. Special effects extravaganzas. Incredible filmmaking. Within certain parameters, you know exactly what you're getting into with a live action "Star Wars" project.
Sure, that pendulum can swing pretty hard. On one side, you can get pretty gritty and realistic stories — "Andor," for instance — and on the other side you can get much more innocent, swashbuckling, kid-oriented adventures like "Skeleton Crew." But one thing that unites all of the "Star Wars" projects is the inspiration from other films that filmmakers pour into their work. Sometimes, those films can be from their own interests, like Rian Johnson bringing his love of "Brazil" into his masterpiece "The Last Jedi," and other times it can be filmmakers bringing George Lucas's foundational reliance...

When Margot Robbie Slapped DiCaprio ( Photo Credit – Facebook )
Margot Robbie is one of the most well-known stars in Hollywood at the moment. Last year, she and Ryan Gosling took the world by storm with the massive success of Barbie: The Movie. Besides that, Robbie is also known for roles such as Harley Quinn in the Dceu, Sharon Tate in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Tonya Harding in I, Tonya, and more. However, it all began with the Wolf of Wall Street. It was in this movie that she began rising the ladder of superstardom.
Just 23 years old at the time of release, Robbie starred in the movie opposite the icon Leonardo DiCaprio, who played the role of Jordan Belfort. Their relationship’s ups and downs were quickly one of the highlights in an already stacked movie. Their on-screen chemistry was great. However, some behind-the-scenes footage adds to their story,...
