Goofs

In the first dance scene Alex Guinness is smoking and exhales some smoke but the next shot doesn't have him holding a cigarette any more.

When Henry goes home to Maud and has dinner, he reaches for the casserole dish lid with his right hand but the close up shows his left hand lifting the lid.

The shots of the ship at night are obviously of a model, as can be seen by the movement of the sea at the bow.
