Gal Gadot‘s portrayal of Wonder Woman in the Dceu remains iconic to this day. She was expertly cast as the iconic superhero; however, the actress faced stiff competition in the audition process.
The actress joined the franchise alongside Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill and was lauded as one of the brightest lights for her portrayal of Diana Prince in 2016′s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Since then, Gal has yielded the Lasso of Truth and Diana’s iconic gauntlets against villains in multiple projects, including two solo movies. There have been ongoing questions about her future in the franchise, which will reset with the release of Superman.
While she’s synonymous with the character now, Gal had to audition for it alongside several other stars. In fact, we can say for a fact that she faced off against at least three actresses to land the part.

It’ll be a family affair at the Golden Globes on Sunday, as Fast and Furious franchise costars Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, and Gal Gadot will be among this year’s slate of awards presenters, the Golden Globes Foundation and CBS announced today.
It’s unlikely all three will appear together, of course. Gadot, who recently revealed she underwent emergency surgery for a blood clot in her brain before giving birth to her daughter in March 2024, will presumably appear to help promote her upcoming film, Snow White. Johnson is currently starring in Moana 2 opposite Auli’i Cravalho, and the actress is also booked as a Globes presenter — perhaps they’ll be paired much like their characters, Maui and Moana, respectively, are together in the film. Diesel is not on the promotional tour right now, but he’ll star with Gadot and Johnson in Fast X: Part 2, the potential final Fast and Furious film,...

It is hard to beat celebrating the final night of Hanukkah with “Wonder Woman” — but that is exactly what Noa Tishby is doing on Wednesday, with Gal Gadot lighting the menorah alongside the best-selling author as she concludes her #BringOnTheLight campaign.
The campaign aims to highlight both the joy and resilience that have sustained the Jewish people for thousands of years.
Watch it below:
Gadot follows a number of other stars who have already celebrated the holiday this year with Tishby. The series kicked off with Gwyneth Paltrow lighting the menorah on the first night of Hanukkah, before Mila Kunis, Mayim Bialik, Iliza Shlesinger, Van Jones, Cindy Crawford, and Tiffany Haddish followed suit on the following six nights.
Tishby bonded with Gadot and her husband, Jaron Varsano, over the different ways in which they celebrate Hanukkah now in the States compared to how they did previously in Israel, Gadot’s homeland.

If you haven’t heard, Jason Momoa has been officially cast as Lobo in the Dcu and will reportedly make his debut in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, which I wrote about here. It’s exciting news as fans have said Momoa is the perfect choice with some even comparing the appropriateness of the casting to Robert Downey Junior’s Iron Man. Gunn has said he was open to casting old Dceu actors in roles for the Dcu and has made good on his word. Now that the door is open, let’s take other actors from the Dceu and cast them in the fresh Dcu.

This meant that popular actors like Henry Cavill, Jason Momoa, and Gal Gadot would not be reprising their roles in future DC films. Although some actors, like Cavill, have already moved on to other projects, rumors about Momoa staying with DC and playing Lobo have been circulating from the start.

More than a year ago, James Gunn and Peter Safran took over DC Studios as Co-Producers and Co-CEOs, they announced a slate of movies and shows that will reboot the ill-fated Dceu. This also meant that actors like Cavill, Momoa, and Gal Gadot who were loved by fans wouldn’t continue portraying their roles in future DC adaptations.
Even though some actors like Cavill already moved to different projects it’s been pretty much rumored from day one that Momoa won’t exactly leave DC or WB for that matter as he has been heavily rumored to play Lobo. The rumors were mostly fueled by Momoa’s physical resemblance to the character and the fact that he wanted to play him for a long time now.
Now the day is here and Momoa officially confirmed that he will be portraying Lobo on his private Instagram.

Aquaman star Jason Momoa is staying in the DC fold. The actor will appear in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow as Lobo, the alien bounty hunter who first appeared in the comics in 1983, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
Momoa was the face of the Aquaman franchise for the previous DC regime, appearing as Aquaman in a cameo in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) before starring in Justice League (2017) and then toplining 2018’s Aquaman. The feature was a massive hit, earning $1 billion and marking the high point for the Dceu films, which ended with last year’s Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. That final film was a letdown, earning just $439 million and failing with critics.
Momoa has long wanted to play the character and has talked about it for years, including during the press rounds for The Lost Kingdom. On Monday, the actor shared a quote from that press tour in...

It was a stark reminder of how quickly everything can change, and in the midst of a difficult year, all I wanted was to hold on and live.”

Gal Gadot has revealed that she underwent emergency surgery on a brain clot at the same time as giving birth to her daughter.
In an emotional social media update, the Wonder Woman actress said she wanted to share the story of her trauma to help raise awareness of Cerebral Venous Thrombosis in pregnant women.
The ordeal took place in February during the eighth month of her pregnancy, when Gadot said she experienced “excruciating headaches” that confined her to bed.

After undergoing an Mri scan, surgery was recommended. “In one moment, my family and I were faced with how fragile life can be,” she said.
Gadot, 39, continued: “We rushed to the hospital, and within hours, I underwent emergency surgery. My daughter, Ori, was born during that moment of uncertainty and fear. Her name, meaning ‘my light’ wasn’t chosen by chance.

James Gunn Reveals Marvel’s Role ( Photo Credit – Flickr )
Marvel Studios secretly helping DC? Sounds like a plot twist straight out of a comic book. Back in 2022, Peacemaker’s season finale made waves with its surprise Justice League cameos. But James Gunn later spilled the beans on how Marvel lent a hand, making this unlikely collaboration one for the history books.
During an interview with Variety, Gunn revealed that Ezra Miller’s cameo at Marvel Studios filmed the Flash. The setup? When the opportunity arose, Gunn was busy shooting Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 for Marvel. Gunn said that Marvel owed DC a favor, explaining, “The Peacemaker crew shot my screen test for Chukwudi [Iwuji, for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3]. And then we got Ezra with the Guardians Vol. 3 crew.”
So, no, it wasn’t a crossover. But it’s as close as fans have gotten to a Marvel-dc team-up,...

Rupert Grint’s Post-Harry Potter Struggles ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
Rupert Grint nearly traded in his wand for an ice cream scoop. After spending a decade as Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter franchise, Grint got hit with a serious case of career doubt. As the final film wrapped, he feared he was typecast and couldn’t break free from the “sidekick” mold. His solution? Buy an ice cream van and give up acting altogether.
“I definitely did think, ‘Is it too late to pick something else?’” Grint admitted in an interview with The New York Times. This wasn’t some casual, whimsical thought – the actor seriously considered making a fresh start in the world of frozen treats. He even drove his pink-and-white ice cream van back to his family home, thinking he might actually make a go of it. It’s so surreal that it almost feels like something out of a quirky British comedy.

Gal Gadot is opening up about her health.
The 39-year-old Wonder Woman actress revealed a frightening diagnosis while she was pregnant in an emotional Instagram post on Sunday (December 29).
“This year has been one of profound challenges and deep reflections, and I’ve wrestled with how, or even if, to share a personal story. At the end, I decided to let my heart guide me. Perhaps this is my way of processing everything, of pulling back the curtain on the fragile reality behind the curated moments we share on social media. Most of all, I hope that by sharing, I can raise awareness and support others who may face something similar,” she began.

Why did Gal Gadot pass on Barbie? (Photo Credit – Instagram)
So what exactly is “Barbie energy”? Well, Robbie summed it up perfectly: “Gal Gadot is Barbie energy.” How, you ask? She’s impossibly beautiful—but not in a way that makes you feel like you need to throw a stone at her. Instead, you can’t help but like her because she’s genuinely sincere and so enthusiastically kind that it’s almost dorky. “It’s like right before being a dork,” Robbie said, encapsulating the charm that makes Gadot, well, the embodiment of Barbie.
The truth? Robbie had originally envisioned Gadot for the role, but the Wonder Woman star wasn’t available to bring her “Barbie energy” to life. Still, Gadot’s persona influenced the casting of all the other Barbies, like Issa Rae, Hari Nef, and Emma Mackey, who would go on to portray various versions of the iconic doll.

A difference of opinion is always inevitable when you’re working in an industry as big as Hollywood. Well, that difference resulted in a rift between veteran director James Cameron and iconic TV star Lynda Carter.

Warner Bros. loves two things: short-length films and humor. Unfortunately for veteran director Zack Snyder, that seemed to be a tricky subject when he was working on his version of Justice League.

It was a mandate that Snyder understood was necessary. However, the director is known for his slow world-building style and for taking things to extreme levels through macro shots and a linear plotline. Well, Snyder was quite frustrated when Warner Bros. ordered him to finish the whole movie in two hours.

Rachel Zegler is playing the title princess in Disney’s upcoming live-action Snow White movie and she’s performing a gorgeous new song in the film!
Egot winners Benj Pasek and Justin Paul wrote the song “Waiting On a Wish” for the new film and it’s definitely going to become a new Disney classic.
Disney shared a sneak peek of Rachel performing the song as a Christmas Day surprise.
“Waiting on a wish / Holding out for someday / Hoping somehow, some way / There comes a miracle to find me / I close my eyes and see / The girl I’m meant to be / Is she a part of me I’ve had to hide?” Rachel sings.
A new trailer for the movie was released just a few weeks ago. The movie, also starring Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen and Andrew Burnap as the Prince, will hit theaters on March 21.

Filmmaker Zack Snyder’s tenure with DC proved to be extremely tumultuous and had several ups and downs. However, one of the high points of Snyder’s take on the popular comic book characters was the fan-favorite casting of Henry Cavill as Superman. With Man of Steel and Batman v Superman, Snyder established Cavill as a commercial action star.

In an interview, Snyder talked about the casting of one Dceu actress who considered exiting Hollywood when she auditioned for Batman v Superman. The trailer for 2025's "Superman" dropped today, and it's one helluva holiday gift. Not only does it drum up even more anticipation for the already hotly-anticipated film by presenting the adventures of Kal-El in a fashion that feels both nostalgic and unique, but it also happens to be one of the best-edited trailers of the past year. One of the trailer's most surprising choices is to leave off the title card for the movie at the end, a decision that acknowledges Superman's power within pop culture, as well as builds more hype for the film.
That's not to say the trailer doesn't end with any form of title card, however. Right before a card announcing that the movie is "Filmed For IMAX" and that it will be released in July of next year, the trailer ends with the DC Studios logo, a reminder that "Superman" is the theatrical debut of...

Disney’s Snow White is coming out next year, and what was initially a highly anticipated project is now projected to become the biggest controversy of 2025, before 2025 even starts. The production has been plagued with issues, and there has been one controversy after another, and it seems that it is not stopping.
But, despite all of the controversies, Disney is still focusing on the movie, as the marketing segment is moving forward. The company is trying to save the movie as best as it can, and while we’re yet to see how effective they’re going to be, we have something to report on.

It had to happen this way, huh? Mufasa: The Lion King got its early reviews and unfortunately (but also expectedly), the reviews were not so great. This… is a wake up call.
Disney has been following the trend of live-action remakes | Credits: Walt Disney Pictures
Hollywood, particularly Disney, has been following a trend for quite a while now where they remake their movies into live-action. As if that wasn’t enough, they also add modern thoughts and theologies into these movies, leaving audiences with a bland mixture of so many unimportant things.
Fans want to dethrone Mufasa: The Lion King
Another day, another Disney live-action film that didn’t live up to its expectations. Although the expectations were indeed low with this one (considering Disney’s love-hate relationship with remakes), the fans were still disappointed.

Snow White Live-Action Remake (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Guess what, Disney fans? The studio is finally diving into a live-action Snow White remake, and honestly, it’s about time. Given that the 1937 Og Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was Disney’s first-ever animated feature, it’s wild that they waited that long. Probably, it’s because the original is such a classic; they might have been scared to mess with it. Either way, this upcoming remake has some big, glass-slipper-sized shoes to fill.
Moreover, the original wrote the Disney Princess playbook, so balancing nostalgia with fresh takes will be tricky. But we know Disney, so we should expect some magic and probably some spicy debate. What’s a remake without a bit of drama, right?

The Disney live-action remake machine chugs along mercilessly, with 2010’s “Tangled” the next animated classic to get reimagined. Michael Gracey, who made “The Greatest Showman” and this year’s Oscar hopeful “Better Man,” is in negotiations to direct the project. He will work from a script by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, of “Do Revenge” fame. Producers include Kristin Burr and Lucy Kitada for Burr! Productions.
The original “Tangled” was released back in 2010 and was directed by Byron Howard and Nathan Greno, based on the classic Grimm brothers fairy tale. That film saw Rapunzel (Mandy Moore) team up with a charming thief (Zachary Levi) in order to escape captivity from Mother Gothel (Donna Murphy). The songs were by Alan Menken and Glenn Slater and they are still some of the most beloved songs from a Disney animated feature.

Disney is going back to the well of live-action remakes and is looking to “The Greatest Showman” and “Better Man” director Michael Gracey to bring its 2010 animated film “Tangled” to life in live-action.
Though rumored and fan-casted for several years now, a “Tangled” live-action film is now officially in development at Disney, and Gracey is in negotiations to direct the feature, an individual with knowledge of the project told IndieWire.
Jennifer Kaytin Robinson wrote the most recent draft of the script, and Kristin Burr is producing under the Burr! Productions banner along with producer Lucy Kitada (“The Baby-Sitters Club”).
No cast has been set just yet, and the plot details are being kept under wraps. But the 2010 “Tangled” was a re-imagining of the classic Rapunzel fairy tale in which a thief, Flynn Rider, stumbles upon her in a castle and introduces her to the wide world. Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi...

‘Tis the season for sisterhood.
Los Angeles has hosted a crush of female-focused events lately, like The Hollywood Reporter’s Women in Entertainment breakfast, Elle’s Women in Hollywood affair and the Women in Film Honors, all of which celebrate the gender’s impact both in front of and behind the camera. But the latest installment, a fashionable affair situated on the deck of the Academy Museum’s stunning open-air sphere on Tuesday, was the only one presented by Chanel in partnership with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences. Meaning that many of the A-list attendees who made the rounds inside the afternoon gathering were dressed in chic threads by the French fashion house and the guest list featured high-profile actresses, directors, producers, writers, agents and other creative insiders.
There also happened to be a couple of recently nominated multi-hyphenates like Ariana Grande and Selena Gomez, whose sisterly interactions...

Ariana Grande really wants to get to know Selena Gomez more.
So much so that she asked to sit with the “Emilia Pérez” star at the Academy Women’s Luncheon on Tuesday at the Academy Museum.
“I respect her so much, and I’ve always adored her,” the “Wicked” star told me. “I was really happy for her to see us on that list together. It was very special.”
That list is the Golden Globe list of nominees for best performance by a female actor in a supporting role in any motion picture. Grande and Gomez were nominated alongside Felicity Jones (“The Brutalist”), Margaret Qualley (“The Substance”), Isabella Rossellini (“Conclave”) and Zoe Saldaña (“Emilia Pérez”).
Grande was one of the first people Gomez heard from after the nominations were announced on Monday. “Ariana texted me and it was the sweetest note and it was about six in the morning,” Gomez told me,...

To discourage review bombing and trolling, YouTube made the number of "Dislikes" a video receives private back in 2021. However, various websites and extensions quickly surfaced which make those numbers - or at least a close approximation of them - available for all to see.
Disney's live-action remake of Snow White has been deciding opinions from the start and, following reports of extensive reshoots to bring it more in line with the 1937 animated classic, Disney is thought to have sunk a love of money into fixing the movie.
That's not good news when all signs already point to Snow White - which stars Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot - struggling to connect with audiences. Will it be a box office flop? That remains to be seen, but the number of YouTube Dislikes the recent trailer has received is hard to ignore.

Gal Gadot and Rachel Zegler might not be thrilled with what popular gaming streamer Asmongold has to say about this ambitious project. He sees Disney’s venture as more of a shrewd strategy to preserve their control over the beloved tale rather than a bid to win the hearts of audiences.
