Exclusive: Nicole Wallace and Gabriel Guevara have set a record for Prime Video after Culpa Tuya (Your Fault) became its biggest international original launch ever.
The Spanish-language YA movie follows a romance between Noah (Wallace) and Nick (Guevara) and bowed on Prime in December. It was tipped to launch strongly after the success of Culpa Mía (My Fault), the first movie in Mercedes Ron’s Culpables trilogy, and has duly delivered.
Culpa Tuya rocketed to the number one spot for Prime Video in more than 170 countries, including Spain, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, France, Germany, Italy and Mexico, data from Amazon and seen by Deadline reveals. Showtime Accused of Stealing ‘Yellowjackets’ From 2015 Film ‘Eden’ in Copyright Infringement Lawsuit
Showtime and Lionsgate’s Entertainment One are being sued for copyright infringement, with the lawsuit alleging that their hit series, “Yellowjackets,“ stole ideas from the 2015 film, “Eden.”
A lawsuit obtained by TheWrap and filed in California federal court by the company that owns the rights to “Eden” alleges that the Showtime series has “strikingly similar elements” to the film. Both follow a beleaguered soccer team that crashes in the woods on the way to a game, and in the midst of their survival attempts, begin to lean into cult-like behavior, ultimately resorting to cannibalism.
“In both works, the survivors, which include various players and the coach, among others, must fight for their lives against the harsh elements, starvation through dwindling resources and the psychological toll of isolation in the form of growing darkness within themselves,” Thursday’s complaint states. “As they struggle to survive, tensions rise, alliances form, dark secrets...

When she realizes that a one-night stand has only a few days left to live, Alma must decide how far she will go to save his life and how to handle her new, life-changing ability.
Now that she can glimpse the future, what responsibility does she have to change it? Is this her chance to make a difference… or a curse on all future relationships?

Linda Hamilton reflects on Terminator: Dark Fate's failure five years later, expressing love for co-stars and director but not the film itself. Despite a favorable critic reception, the movie failed at the box office, resulting in a loss of $122 million and the termination of sequels. Hamilton indicates she won't return as Sarah Connor in the future, focusing on other projects like SyFy's Resident Alien and Stranger Things season 5.
Linda Hamilton reflects on the failure of Terminator: Dark Fate five years later. Released in 2019 and directed by Deadpool's Tim Miller, with a story co-written by James Cameron, the movie acts as a direct sequel to Terminator 2: Judgment Day that ignores the events of its subsequent sequels, and stars Linda Hamilton as Sarah Connor and Arnold Schwarzenegger as the T-800. The Terminator: Dark Fate cast also introduces Mackenzie Davis, Natalia Reyes, Gabriel Luna, and Diego Boneta as new characters.

Veteran celebrities being unable to promote their latest projects during the strike was one thing. Xolo Maridueña dutifully staying out of the limelight was another level of sacrifice. The 22-year-old Cobra Kai actor landed the breakout role of a lifetime when he was cast as the lead of DC Films’ Blue Beetle, becoming the first Latino to be the star of a live-action superhero film. Not only did he miss a tidal wave of personal publicity opportunities for the Aug. 18 release but also the chance to represent Latinos in a uniquely visible way that, to hear him tell it, was just as important, if not more so. As Maridueña said to THR last year: “Blue Beetle isn’t to make me the next heartthrob or biggest star. It’s to show people, ‘Hey, these stories about Latinos don’t have to just be about narcos or crossing the border or being a gang member.

Anthony Ramos, Josh Andrés Rivera, and Xolo Maridueña are solid choices to play Evelyn Hugo's first husband, Ernie Diaz, in the upcoming film adaptation. Sequels should only be made if specific conditions are met, such as having the original director involved and a well-crafted story to continue the franchise without ruining its legacy. Little Women and Back to the Future deserve sequels, while declining franchises like Transformers need to end. The success of a sequel depends on various factors, including the availability and willingness of the cast and director. Greta Gerwig should write and direct Barbie 2 for it to have a chance at surpassing the original. The sequel would need to meet high expectations and deliver a message about self-love just as profound.
With so many unnecessary sequels and prequels coming out these days, it is a pity that amazing franchises and standalone movies that deserve another installment are still overlooked. While Little Women and Back to the Future are long overdue for sequels because there are more stories to tell, declining franchises like Transformers can't die fast enough.

Sophie Wilder is in Mexico City filming Super Society 3 and hopes to get her own spinoff. While shooting, she catches her boyfriend and co-star, Adam, cheating on her with a crew member. As Sophie struggles to figure out how she can move forward, she meets Alejandro, a junior manager at a hotel used for the production. A deep friendship develops between Sophie and Alejandro as they try to figure out how things can develop in their limited time together.
Who doesn’t enjoy a good, well-made rom-com? Sadly, that’s not what Jonah Feingold’s At Midnight is. At times it seems like it desperately wishes to be a more modern retelling of Richard Linklater’s Before trilogy while also being a millennial-centred comedy about two unexpected people,...

Largely thanks to streaming, romantic comedies have been making a comeback in the last few years. It's a move that has been welcomed by many, though like any beloved genre, not every offering is of equal quality. Paramount+'s latest original, At Midnight, comes to the table with a syrupy sweet premise and a pair of deeply appealing leads. It holds charms that can win over cynical viewers and even possesses genuine humor. Unfortunately, the overall execution — and more importantly, the central relationship — doesn't quite hold up with closer scrutiny. At Midnight has a certain Old Hollywood flair that gives it a unique edge, but its surface-level approach makes the romance more frothy than impactful.
Global starlet Sophie Wilder (Monica Barbaro) is the face of a hugely successful superhero franchise alongside her self-absorbed boyfriend, Adam (Anders Holm). Their picture-perfect romance is shattered when, in the midst of filming their third movie,...

Well, with all projects that soar high, one inevitably crashes back down to Earth.
“Top Gun: Maverick” breakout star Monica Barbaro quietly leads the Paramount+ rom-com “At Midnight,” an updated take on “Notting Hill” with a dash of “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” framework. Unfortunately, with the film premiering February 10, audiences would be better off watching star-studded (and better filmed) Super Bowl ads on loop for 105 minutes.
Barbaro plays Sophie Wilder, a rising actress who leads a superhero franchise with her boyfriend of five years, Adam Clark (Anders Holm, who has made a career out of playing shitty boyfriends). When Sophie catches Adam kissing someone else in his trailer, she immediately dumps him and questions how she is going to finish the latest “Super Society” superhero installment. Production moves to Mexico, where Sophie and her posse including best friend Rachel and publicist Chris (Casey Thomas Brown) try to figure out how to...

During the mythical Golden Age of Hollywood, the romantic-comedy genre could be relied upon as a consistently entertaining, star-studded, and profitable performer at the box office, year in and year out. We've fallen quite a long way in the years since despite some recent breakthrough hits like "Crazy Rich Asians" or last year's double-whammy of "The Lost City" and "Ticket to Paradise." Instead of studios going out of their way to court genuine movie stars and put their charisma and charm on display for moviegoing audiences to enjoy vicariously, we've ended up in a place where those once-ubiquitous theatrical features instead struggle to justify their existence ... if they even make it to theaters at all.
That brings us to "At Midnight." On the surface, it has all the makings of a much-needed throwback date night at the movies, in the vein of "Roman Holiday" before it (which gets a shout-out...

Writer-director Jonah Feingold’s “At Midnight” sadly isn’t so much concerned with reinvention as it is with following a formula set by its cinematic forbearers. This spin on “Notting Hill” and “Roman Holiday” (the latter is channeled and referenced throughout) shows a silver screen superstar and a hotel employee falling in love and giving their lives the push they need to achieve their dreams. Although it’s tempting not to mess with perfection, innovation through tweaks to the narrative and characters would’ve changed this Paramount Plus feature from expected to extraordinary.
Sophie (Monica Barbaro) is used to saving the world on screen, starring in a blockbuster superhero franchise. Ironically, she can’t manage to save herself in real life, and gets little recognition from anyone but her beloved, beleaguered manager Chris (Casey Thomas Brown) and her sassy, unemployed best friend Rachel (Catherine Cohen). Adam (Anders Holm), Sophie’s...

Love is in the air at Paramount+ this Valentine’s Day season as the streamer prepares to debut its new rom-com At Midnight starring Top Gun: Maverick‘s Monica Barbaro and Diego Boneta. Ahead of the movie’s Friday, February 10 debut, Barbaro and Boneta sat down with TV Insider’s Damian Holbrook at the Winter 2023 Television Critics Association Press Tour to discuss the film. At Midnight tells the story of an actress who following a breakup with her costar begins shooting a new movie in Mexico. There, she meets an ambitious hotel manager with whom she connects and they begin meeting up at midnight. (Credit: Camila Jurado/Paramount + © 2022 Viacom International Inc. Chemistry reads were a little tough to collaborate on when casting the film amid the Covid pandemic. “No, we’d never met,...
