Have you noticed that whenever a new movie pops up on Netflix with no advance notice, it tends to be - um, how do I say this - less than successful? The latest addition to their slate is another example of this practice.

We try to be diligent when we write about the coming attractions on your favorite streaming service. Inevitably, Netflix will throw a pretty big title into the lineup with little to no fanfare. Even Netflix's own announcement page leaves a lot of films out in the cold until they suddenly appear.

It's as if they haven't worked out the rights to the movies and shows months in advance but find them left on their corporate doorstep like sad little orphans. Like Venom: the Last Dance popping up out of nowhere.

A case in point is a thriller that debuted in theaters to pretty good numbers, $22 million in its first week.

A source close to a Nexstar-owned station in south Texas is saying it was a “mistake” that the CBS affiliate there cut to a commercial break Sunday after Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars won Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the Grammys.

As part of her acceptance speech, Gaga expressed her support for the Lgbtqia+ community by saying “trans people are not invisible. Trans people deserve love. The queer community deserves to be lifted up.” The speech quickly went viral.

But according to a thread on Reddit, several people in the lower Rio Grande Valley said Kveo in Brownsville immediately went to a commercial, so they questioned whether the station cut away from the speech because “I live in a red state.”

The 67th Grammy Awards are getting underway in Los Angeles, where the biggest talents in music are putting on quite the display on the red carpet.

The reboot starred Jaden Smith as Dre Parker, who moved to Beijing with his widowed mother (Taraji P. Henson) and learned kung fu from maintenance worker Mr. Han (Jackie Chan) in order to defend himself from his school bully.

Although none of the characters from the 2010 reboot appeared in the legacy sequel series Cobra Kai, which premiered on Youtube Red in 2018 and is set to air its finale on Netflix in 2025, the upcoming Karate Kid: Legends will feature Jackie Chan reprising his role as Mr. Han opposite Ralph Macchio as Daniel Larusso.

When Jackie Chan returns to the Karate Kid universe, his new prodigy will be played by Ben Wang instead of Jaden Smith. Wang will play the role of the new young karate fighter Li Fong in Karate Kid: Legends and he looks amazing in the trailer of the film.
