The bride is back. The acclaimed wedding night horror-comedy “Ready or Not” is coming back for a sequel with lead actress Samara Weaving, who is no stranger to the genre cast in Netflix’s “The Babysitter” and the 2022 “Scream” film, among many others.

Production company Radio Silence is returning with the fan-favorite film centered around a children’s game turned deadly, along with Searchlight Pictures, who will distribute the horror movie. The film collective, also known for films like “Scream VI,” comprised of Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, Tyler Gillett, Justin Martinez, and Chad Villella.

The first movie, released in 2019, was written by Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy and directed by Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett. It follows a young bride who discovers at her wedding reception that her in-laws have a peculiar game-night ritual that turns into a predator-prey, murder-spree version of Hide and Seek—all because of a deal her in-laws made with the devil.

One of the best recent horror comedy movies of recent years was 2019's "Ready or Not" -- and now it's coming back for round two. 

The Hollywood Reporter confirms that a sequel, currently bearing the apt title "Ready or Not 2," is in development. Autobots, assemble: Paramount has released a trailer for “Transformers One,” the animated prequel film led by the voices of Chris Hemsworth, Brian Tyree Henry and Scarlett Johansson.

Hemsworth voices young Optimus Prime, when he was just known as Orion Pax. Henry is D-16, before he became Optimus’ rival Megatron. The trailer shows the two starting out as simple worker bots, unable to transform into anything. But soon they gain the ability to change into vehicles and gain weapons, as a battle against a mysterious, plant-like villain unfolds on the Transformers’ home planet of Cybertron.

“You’ve become part of a bigger universe. You just don’t know it yet. “While speaking with Syfy Wire, producer Bradley J. Fischer revealed that The Last Voyage of the Demeter almost ended with a cameo from Professor Abraham Van Helsing.

“We went through a lot of different approaches to the story, but nothing that was wildly different than the movie that we ended up with,” Fischer explained. “We actually had one ending for quite a while. The scene in the tavern was Clemens [Corey Hawkins] being approached by a strange, shadowy dude, who starts talking to him, seems to have some knowledge of the experiences that he went through, and introduces himself as Van Helsing. Then we kind of left it there.“

Phoenix Pictures acquired the rights to the film, originally titled Demeter, over two decades before the movie made its way to the screen.

Paramount is delaying the release of the next animated feature in the Transformers Universe, Transformers One. Paramount has pushed back the release date for Transformers One, the newest animated feature in the Transformers franchise that was unveiled at CinemaCon in April. The origin story from director Josh Cooley, previously set to open on July 19, 2024, will now bow nationwide on September 13, 2024.

Cate Blanchett has officially signed on to star in Pedro Almodóvar’s first English-language feature film, “A Manual for Cleaning Women.”

The film is an adaptation of Lucia Berlin’s short story collection of the same name, which includes 43 stories about women in multiple types of demanding jobs.

Paramount Pictures’ Mark Wahlberg-fronted sci-fi thriller “Infinite” will land on streaming service Paramount Plus in key international markets.

The film, directed by Antoine Fuqua, will debut on the service in Canada, Latin America, the Nordics and Australia on Aug. 11. Currently, “Infinite” is the most-watched movie to date on the U.S. platform, said ViacomCBS.

Starring Mark Wahlberg, “Infinite” delves into the concept of reincarnation through characters who must use memories and skills from past lives to ensure the future.
