British actor Michael Sheen spent £100,000 to write off £1 million ($1.3 million) of his neighbor’s debts.

Sheen wrote off debt to help more than 900 people in south Wales, where he had grown up. This was part of a two-year project to emphasize issues with the current credit system, which was filmed for an upcoming Channel 4 documentary, Michael Sheen’s Secret Million Pound Giveaway.

Even though the Good Omens star does not know the names of the people he helped due to data protection, he hopes the documentary will reveal the dark corners of high-cost credit and show what occurs when debts are sold to collectors.

Former Doctor Who showrunner Chris Chibnall is set to lead a TV adaptation of his debut mystery novel, Death at the White Hart, writing and producing the upcoming series. Chibnall is best known for his work as the former showrunner of Doctor Whoduring the series' run where Jodie Whittaker portrayed the Thirteenth Doctor. He's also known for creating the British crime drama Broadchurch, which starred Whittaker alongside Doctor Who alum David Tennant and former guest star Olivia Coleman. Doctor Who's Russell T Davies has addressed plans for who will succeed him as showrunner in the future, explaining "conversations" are already underway. Davies served as the original showrunner for the sci-fi series' revival in 2005, overseeing the seasons starring Christopher Eccleston's Ninth Doctor and David Tennant's Tenth Doctor. He returned to his role starting with the 2023 60th anniversary episodes prior to season 14, and retained his role into the upcoming Doctor Who season 15. His return to the series ushered in a new era as well, starring Ncuti Gatwa as the Fifteenth Doctor.

Speaking with Tennant himself on his podcast David Tennant Does a Podcast With… (via Radio Times), Davies confirmed he would not return to Doctor Who "a third time" after his current stint as showrunner. Vice Studios, the studio arm of the Vice Media portfolio business, has selected ITV Studios as its exclusive global distribution partner.

The deal, confirmed during a session at the London TV Screenings on Wednesday, will see ITV Studios add nearly 2,000 hours of Vice content to its catalog, as well as represent future projects in the Vice Studios’ pipeline.

It means ITV Studios adds a large catalog of popular scripted and non-scripted content, including docu-style investigative shows, to its portfolio alongside established drama, natural history and true crime television.

Vice content includes the Dark Side of the Ring franchise, United Gangs of America and Vice on HBO. The partnership will also spotlight future Vice Studios-produced content, including new scripted series from Vice’s U.K. production hub — producer of Sky’s popular Gangs of London series. ITV Studios weighs into the 2025 London TV Screenings with its biggest slate in the last couple of years, certainly on the format side, and one of the weightiest lineups of any company presenting in London this week.

Its Feb. 26 showcase at the Odeon Leicester Square, open exclusively to buyers, will launch 12 brand new dramas, 26 returning seasons, 27 non-scripted titles and 10 new formats featuring must-check-out shows from many of the U.K.’s top production companies such as Sister Pictures, Quay Street Productions, Mammoth Screen, Lifted Entertainment (“Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway”) and Plimsoll Productions.

“Sister Pictures is not one of the ITV Studios family but the others are. That’s a real testament to the journey we’ve been on in the last few years of really trying to work with the best talent,” said Ruth Berry, president global partnerships & Zoo 55, ITV Studios.

Jon Favreau's 2008 film "Iron Man" kicked off the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a multimedia superhero property that would remain dominant in the pop consciousness for over a decade. Initially, "Iron Man" and Louis Leterrier's own 2008 MCU movie "The Incredible Hulk" (which finally got a sequel of sorts in 2025) were meant to be mere stand-alone superhero sories, only including references to the Avengers as a cute wink to fans. The modern incarnation of Doctor Who has been running since 2005. That's 20 years of whimsical, very British adventures through space and time. And the series can trace its roots all the way back to 1963, meaning the show has been on for over 70 years, with some notable breaks in there; Doctor Who was pretty much off the air between 1989 and 2005, with only a TV movie to keep things going in between.

It's possible we're heading towards another break. Ratings for the most recent season — which stars Ncuti Gatwa as the titular Time Lord — have been below the expectations of Disney, which partnered with the BBC to produce the newest episodes. The 2025 Ee BAFTA Film Awards were hosted on Sunday by David Tennant at London’s Royal Festival Hall. Conclave won four BAFTAs, including Best Film, Film Editing, Adapted Screenplay and Outstanding British Film. This is Edward Berger’s second time winning the Best Film award, with his first being 2023’s All Quiet On The Western Front.

Anora star Mikey Madison paid tribute to sex workers after winning Best Leading Actress at the BAFTA Film Awards.

In the Neon film, Madison plays a sex worker from Brooklyn who meets and impulsively marries the son of a Russian oligarch. She beat others including Demi Moore, Cynthia Erivo, and Saoirse Ronan to the acting prize.
