Tribbles were originally cute and cuddly little balls of fluff before Star Trek kept changing them. Tribbles famously made their Star Trek debut in Star Trek: The Original Series season 2, episode 15, "The Trouble with Tribbles," when Captain James T. Kirk (William Shatner) and his USS Enterprise crew encounter them aboard a space station. When Lt. Uhrua (Nichelle Nichols) brings one of the little creatures up to the Enterprise, one Tribble quickly turns into thousands of Tribbles with truly hilarious results.
Tribbles emit a pleasant cooing sound when held by most humanoids (aside from Klingons), producing a tranquilizing effect on human nervous system, in particular. Tribbles have appeared in numerous Star Trek television shows and movies, both in the background, and as central plot points. Star Trek: Deep Space Nine even revisited "The Trouble with Tribbles" in the excellent season 5 episode, "Trials and Tribble-ations." Although Tribbles were a nuisance to the United Federation of Planets,...

Erin Moriarty got her start in the industry when she was just 11 years old, and her best movies and TV shows run her entire timeline from her work as a teenager up to now. Because Moriarity was born and raised in New York, she is trained in theater as well as on-screen, but her professional work has all been for TV and film. Though one of her earliest roles was in the soap opera One Life To Live, the soap does not make it into her best work.
Soap operas, however, are notorious for being like bootcamp for actors just starting out in the industry since work on a soap is incredibly fast-paced and takes place nearly every day. Moriarty likely got a television crash course that has served her well. Most of her roles have been of a supporting nature in her career so far, but she has demonstrated...

With its Star Trek: The Next Generation reunion, Star Trek: Picard season 3 is amazing, but one aspect made me feel a bit guilty for loving it so much. Star Trek: Picard kicked off its third and final season when Admiral Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) receives an urgent distress call from Dr. Beverly Crusher (Gates McFadden). Picard then recruits his friend and former first officer Captain William Riker (Jonathan Frakes) to commandeer the USS Titan-a and mount a rescue mission. This mission eventually brought the rest of the Tng crew together aboard the rebuilt USS Enterprise-d for one last adventure.
As a huge fan of Star Trek: The Next Generation, I loved seeing Picard reunite with his old crew aboard his iconic ship. Showrunner Terry Matalas and the other folks behind Star Trek: Picard season 3 let their love of Tng shine through and leaned into the nostalgia of seeing the Enterprise-d crew back together.

Everyone has their favorite "Star Trek" captain. Ever since the '90s, debates have raged as to whether Kirk could beat Picard, and once Sisko came along, all bets were off. Just as every Klingon warrior needs a cha'Dich, even the best captain needs a solid second behind them. Over the years, many have tried to follow in the footsteps of Starfleet greatness, sometimes even exceeding it. As great as the limelight is, however, the position of reliable backup can be even harder.
It's time for the first officers to shine. Who are the greatest seconds-in-command? Like asking what makes a great vice president, that can be tough. Do we want someone who can and will take over or just the very best at carrying out their orders?

Writer and showrunner Terry Matalas sneakily included a backdoor pilot into the final season of "Star Trek: Picard." At the end of the series, after a grand threat from the Borg has been quelled, the action fast-forwards a year for a teary epilogue. It seems that the previously roguish Jack Crusher (Ed Speleers) had been rushed through Starfleet Academy and was now ready for his first starship assignment. His father (Patrick Stewart) and mother (Gates McFadden) accompanied him to his first ship, the U.S.S. Titan-a, the ship on which the bulk of "Picard" season 3 took place. But, in a fit of nostalgia, the Titan-a had been rechristened the Enterprise-g.
The Enterprise-g was commanded by Captain Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan), who had recently been recommended for captaincy by her deceased commanding officer. Seven's first officer was her ex-girlfriend Raffi (Michelle Hurd), and her crew included numerous "Picard" supporting players,...

Warning: Spoilers For Star Trek: Lower Decks' Series Finale - "The New Next Generation"The USS Enterprise-e makes a cameo appearance at the end of Star Trek: Lower Decks' finale, but contrary to audience expectations, most of the iconic crew of Star Trek: The Next Generation wouldn't have been aboard. The flagship of the United Federation of Planets couldn't make it to the Schrödinger field threatening to obliterate Star Trek's Prime timeline in time, leaving it up to the USS Cerritos to save the universe. The Enterprise-e then joined the Cerritos and other Starfleet ships at Starbase 80, which now guards the Federation's first stable wormhole to the multiverse.
Star Trek: Lower Decks' series finale on Paramount+ fittingly focused on the crew of the USS Cerritos, but it's understandable that audiences who were thrilled to finally see the USS Enterprise-e on Star Trek: Lower Decks may have been disappointed that...

In Star Trek, both Section 31 and Starfleet Intelligence are intelligence agencies linked to Starfleet, but they have different histories within the Star Trek timeline, and serve different narrative purposes. Before the formation of Star Trek's United Federation of Planets, Starfleet existed as an Earth-based paramilitary organization with the primary function of exploration. As humans became major players in the Alpha and Beta Quadrants, Starfleet's secondary mission of preserving peace became much more relevant, especially after Star Trek: Enterprise's Captain Jonathan Archer (Scott Bakula) made contact with hostile species like the Klingons and Xindi.
In Star Trek, Starfleet and the Federation aren't the same thing. The Federation is the governing body that unites allied member worlds, and Starfleet is technically Earth's exploratory and peacekeeping organization, which expanded its reach to serve the entire Federation. To protect the Federation's members and borders, Starfleet must gather information about enemies of the Federation.

"Star Trek," which a very progressive franchise in many respects, has always had something of a fraught relationship with queerness. Gay or lesbian characters weren't wholly visible on the series, and dating couples tended to fall into the heteronormative. Near the end of his life in the early 1990s, "Star Trek" creator Gene Roddenberry once idly mused that he'd like to depict two background male characters holding hands in a romantic way, but that's hardly a great spearhead for a progressive ideal.
There were occasional attempts to include queer stories in "Star Trek" throughout the 1990s, but they were few and far between. The "Next Generation" episode "The Outcast" was controversial even at the time (and one can read all about "The Outcast" in the pages of /Film), and the "Deep Space Nine" episode "Rejoined" did allow Jadzia Dax (Terry Farrell) to have a romantic relationship with a woman, but...

Michael Dorn has been a part of Star Trek since Star Trek: The Next Generation began in 1987. His most recent appearance was on the third and final season of Star Trek: Picard. He is the one actor who has appeared the most in Star Trek, but that might be coming to an end as the Dorn, in an interview in Star Trek Explorer Magazine, says "I actually am slowly but surely retiring." Star Trek's Dr. Beverly Crusher (Gates McFadden) meeting Nurse Christine Chapel (Jess Bush) is likely impossible, but the actresses just crossed over in Gates McFadden's podcast, InvestiGates: Who Do You Think You Are? Since 2021, Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Picard's Gates McFadden has hosted an intimate, conversational podcast from The Nacelle Company. InvestiGates season 3 just premiered, dropping three new episodes with Star Trek guests Sonequa Martin-Green, Michelle Hurd, and Jess Bush.
Since 1987, Gates McFadden has portrayed Dr. Beverly Crusher, Chief Medical Officer of the USS Enterprise-d and E, as part of the main cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation and continuing in the four Tng movies. Jeri Ryan's Seven of Nine actually became a Star Trek captain before the epilogue of Star Trek: Picard season 3, when Captain Seven of Nine took command of the USS Enterprise-g. The epilogue teases Star Trek: Legacy, a Picard spin-off about the adventures of Captain Seven, Commander Raffi Musiker (Michelle Hurd), and Ensign Jack Crusher (Ed Speleers) as the Special Counselor to the Captain. So far, Star Trek: Legacy doesn't seem to be happening, but fans don't have to wait for a new Star Trek show that might not come in order to see Seven of Nine in command.

Almost a year and a half after season three of Star Trek: Picard aired its finale, "The Last Generation," there are some actors such as Jeri Ryan, Michelle Hurd, and Todd Stashwick, and plenty of fans who are not ready to give up on the idea of continuing adventures with the legacy characters and the newer characters that made their debuts on Picard. LeVar Burton is one of those actors.

Jeri Ryan has confirmed that she was offered a role in a spin-off series of Star Trek: Picard that was not the rumored Star Trek: Legacy, but chose not to accept it. The proposed Star Trek: Legacy would focus on Captain Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan), Commander Raffi Musiker (Michelle Hurd), Lt. Sidney La Forge (Ashley Sharpe Chestnut), and Ensign Jack Crusher (Ed Speleers), on the newly rechristened USS Enterprise-g along with returning Next Generation characters.
Per TrekMovie, Ryan appeared at a panel with her Star Trek: Voyager co-stars Garrett Wang and Robert Duncan McNeill at Spacecon in San Antonio, TX, and she was asked about the future of Seven of Nine. Specifically, she was asked if there were any plans for a Seven of Nine show, to which she replies that there had been. She stated that she was pitched her own show after Picard ended, though it was not Star Trek: Legacy.

Excited fans asked yet again for more information about Legacy and if the show would happen. [via Trekmovie]

There's also the D-Con Chamber podcast, hosted by Enterprise stars Dominic Keating and Connor Trinneer. There's a podcast for everyone and thanks to Gates McFadden, that remains true.
Each of the above podcasts serve a unique purpose. The 7th Rule talks a lot about Deep Space Nine, among other current Trek-topics. Star Trek: The Next Generation star Levar Burton believes that it makes sense to follow through with the rumored Star Trek: Legacy, a sequel series to Star Trek: Picard. Star Trek: Legacy, a title coined by showrunner Terry Matalas, would follow the events of Picard season 3, and would focus on Captain Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan), Commander Raffi Musiker (Michelle Hurd), and Ensign Jack Crusher (Ed Speleers), on the newly rechristened USS Enterprise-g.

Katee Sackhoff wants to join Star Trek, and she should to complete her perfect sci-fi hat trick. Sackhoff became a sci-fi icon when she was cast as Kara "Starbuck" Thrace in Sci-Fi Channel's 2003 reboot of Battlestar Galactica, which was created by legendary Star Trek writer Ronald D. Moore. In 2012, Katee jumped the galaxy far, far away when she voiced Bo-Katan Kryze in Star Wars: The Clone Wars before embodying Bo-Katan in live-action in The Mandalorian season 2. Incredibly, Sackhoff has not been in Star Trek... yet.
Since Star Trek's rebirth on Paramount+, the various Star Trek series have scored multiple casting coups, starting with Jason Isaacs and Academy Award-winner Michelle Yeoh headlining Star Trek: Discovery season 1. Michelle Hurd and Allison Pill joined the cast of Star Trek: Picard while Jack Quaid became one of the leads of Star Trek: Lower Decks, and even played Ensign Brad Boimler in live-action on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.

SAG-AFTRA has produced three advocacy videos putting a spotlight on the challenges disabled actors face in pursuing and auditioning for jobs in the entertainment industry. The videos were produced as part of the union’s “Inclusion: Time to Get Real” campaign launched in connection with National Disability Employment Awareness Month.
The goal is to demonstrate how people with disabilities are underrepresented in TV and film, and when they are on screen, they are often misrepresented. In 2022, people with disabilities accounted for 8.8% of screen time, but those with visible disabilities made up only 0.4%, according to a Nielsen study.
“People with disabilities are America’s largest minority, representing nearly 26 percent of the nation’s population. Yet disabled performers are not afforded equal opportunities in entertainment and media and remain among the least represented in the industry,” said Christine Bruno, chair of the National Performers with Disabilities Committee, which steered the campaign.

Although "Star Trek: Voyager" concluded in 2001, multiple characters from the series have returned throughout the franchise at large to remind Trekkies that they all still exist and are still going about their Starfleet careers. Both Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan) and Tuvok (Tim Russ) appeared on "Star Trek: Picard," with the former playing a regular role on the series. The reference-heavy "Star Trek: Lower Decks" makes "Voyager" references all the time, and even had an episode set on board the U.S.S. Voyager.
Most notably, Captain Janeway (Kate Mulgrew) not only had a cameo in the 2002 film "Star Trek: Nemesis," but a holographic version of the character played a large role in the animated series "Star Trek: Prodigy." That same show also featured the real-life Janeway, the Doctor (Robert Picardo), as well as a subplot involving Chakotay (Robert Beltran), the captain of the experimental ship the U.S.S.

Star Trek 4 and Star Trek: Picard's proposed spinoff, Star Trek: Legacy, will have the same premise if the long-desired Star Trek projects happen. Star Trek: Picard season 3's ending set up a continuation set on the USS Enterprise-g led by Captain Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan). From 2009-2016, Captain James T. Kirk (Chris Pine) commanded the Starship Enterprise in the alternate Kelvin timeline of J.J. Abrams' Star Trek movies. Both Star Trek 4 and Star Trek: Legacy are in drydock with no timeframe for if and when either will go into production.
Star Trek: Legacy would potentially be a show about the children of Star Trek: The Next Generation's iconic crew serving on the newest Enterprise under Captain Seven of Nine. A Star Trek show starring Jeri Ryan as Seven of Nine is the franchise's biggest unfulfilled wish. Seven of Nine being in Star Trek: Picard's first season seemed unusual at first, since Seven of Nine was from Star Trek: Voyager and not Star Trek: The Next Generation. While Seven's undeniable popularity as a Star Trek character helped pique interest in Star Trek: Picard's first season, the original plan for Star Trek: Picard explains why, out of all potential Star Trek characters, Seven of Nine joined Admiral Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) on a new adventure.
After seeing Seven of Nine serving as a Starfleet Commander on the USS Titan-a in Star Trek: Picard season 3, the potential for a Star Trek show focused on Seven of Nine became much clearer. Evan Evagora's Elnor played a significant role in Star Trek: Picard season 1, but the young Romulan appeared to have been forgotten by the show's third season. Prior to the events of Star Trek: Picard season 1, the Romulan sun had gone supernova, prompting Starfleet to mount a massive evacuation mission led by Admiral Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart). When rogue synths attacked Mars and destroyed the fleet of rescue ships, Starfleet stopped aiding in the evacuation. Disgusted that Starfleet would halt such an important rescue mission, Picard resigned in protest, hoping that the Starfleet higher-ups would change their minds.
Instead, Starfleet accepted Picard's resignation and he found himself facing retirement at his family's French vineyard. Retirement did not quite suit Picard, and Jean-Luc found himself caught up in another adventure when an android woman named Dahj (Isa Briones) showed up on his doorstep. When season three of Star Trek: Picard began, there were some missing faces. Some, we didn't expect to see as their stories wrapped up in season two, like Captain Cristobal Rios [Santiago Carbrera] who chose to remain the past. Isa Briones's Soji character only returned briefly for season two and Briones played an entirely different character who ended up going with Wil Wheaton's Traveler. We're not quite sure what happened to Evan Evagora's Elnor, but Allison Pill's Dr. Agnes Jurati joined with the Borg Queen who became a benevolent form...at least for that queen.
The only original actor, who appeared in the first episode of the first season, alongside Patrick Stewart, to return in season three was Raffi [Michelle Hurd]. Michael Dorn says Star Trek: The Next Generation's cast was financially well-compensated to reunite in Star Trek: Picard season 3, which hints at why Picard season 1's actors didn't return for the final season. Dorn reprised his iconic Klingon warrior, Captain Worf, for the first time in 21 years in Star Trek: Picard season 3. Worf's return revealed that the Klingon had become a self-styled 'pacifist,' and he worked for Starfleet Intelligence to uncover the Changeling plot to attack the United Federation of Planets alongside Commander Raffi Musiker (Michelle Hurd).

Michael Dorn reveals he was asked to appear on Star Trek: Discovery. As Worf, Michael Dorn set a record for the most appearances ever in Star Trek. Dorn portrayed Worf in seven seasons of Star Trek: The Next Generation, four Tng movies, and four seasons of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Michael Dorn returned as Captain Worf in Star Trek: Picard season 3, bringing his tally up to 285 total appearances as the Klingon Starfleet Officer.
Before Star Trek: Picard season 3, Michael Dorn's last appearance as Worf was in Star Trek: Nemesis in 2002. Dorn then spent the next 21 years getting a respite from wearing Worf's Klingon prosthetics. However, Worf was never too far away, as Michael would join his fellow Star Trek: The Next Generation cast members at Star Trek conventions over the years. The best Rachel Griffiths movies and TV shows show the true range of the Australian actress, as she has taken on roles in several different genres over the past four decades. Griffiths studied drama and dance in college and then went on to get her start working in theatre groups, including writing and performing her own one-woman show in 1991 called Barbie Gets Hip. She then enjoyed her breakout role when she signed on to a supporting role in the Toni Collette 1994 movie Muriel's Wedding.
Since then, Griffiths has split her time between movies and TV shows. She made her American film debut in My Best Friend's Wedding and gained national prominence for her starring role in the critically acclaimed HBO series Six Feet Under. Two Star Trek shows of the modern era faced exactly the same criticism when they started, but ultimately succeeded with completely opposite solutions. Star Trek: Discovery faced the challenge of competing for attention with prestige television shows that often eschewed values like hope and optimism. In response, Star Trek: Discovery tried taking a realistic approach to the Star Trek: The Original Series era. Discovery season 1 focused on Michael Burnham's (Sonequa Martin-Green) mutinous part in igniting the Klingon-Federation War, and also took the USS Discovery crew to the fascist nightmare of Star Trek's Mirror Universe. Discovery season 2 featured Starfleet's morally gray covert ops division, Section 31.
Star Trek: Picard reintroduced Admiral Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) long after the end of Star Trek: The Next Generation. Audiences had been assured or perhaps warned that Picard was not going to be a continuation of Tng, but a character study of Admiral Picard in his twilight years.

Star Trek: Picard season 3 forgot about the other "son" of Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart), a weird oversight considering how important the character was to Jean-Luc Picard. Picking up about 20 years after the events of Star Trek: Nemesis, Picard season 1 checked in on Jean-Luc after he had retired from Starfleet. Now caring for his family's French vineyard, Picard had resigned from Starfleet in protest after the Romulan Evacuation Project was shut down. As an Admiral, Picard had organized the massive evacuation effort to save the Romulans from their sun going supernova. But when rogue synths attacked Mars in Picard season 2, the rescue armada ships were all destroyed.
Having lost thousands of ships and officers, Starfleet called off the evacuation effort, shifting their focus to defense. Picard hoped that the higher-ups at Starfleet would continue the evacuation rather than accept his resignation, but he was mistaken. As part of the evacuation,...

I'm doubtful that Star Trek: Legacy will actually happen at least, as long as one other particular Star Trek series is still airing. Like many other fans, I was excited by the prospective new Star Trek series Star Trek: Picard season 3 set up that would follow the adventures of Captain Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan), Commander Raffi Musiker (Michelle Hurd), and Ensign Jack Crusher (Ed Speleers), aboard the newly rechristened USS Enterprise-g. Star Trek: Picard showrunner Terry Matalas proposed the title Star Trek: Legacy, and fan campaigns to get Legacy off the ground were started, but there's been no word from Paramount about Legacy actually happening.
Instead, the next two new Star Trek series have been announced, and neither of them are Star Trek: Legacy. First up is the 32nd-century-set Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, starring Holly Hunter, Paul Giamatti, several legacy Star Trek characters, and a new crop of...

The latest on Law & Order: Svu season 26 offers an update on Rollins' status after she left the team, confirming that Kelli Giddish is set to appear in several upcoming episodes. Having portrayed NYPD Detective Amanda Rollins since 2011, Giddish left Svu during season 24 in what was considered an unpopular decision. But since her departure, the actor has reprised her role as a guest star. She'll continue to do for Law & Order: Svu season 26, which premieres on NBC on Thursday, October 3 at 9 Pm Est.

Jeri Ryan's Captain Seven of Nine needs to have an iconic Star Trek moment to follow in the footsteps of previous Captains of the Starship Enterprise. In the epilogue of Star Trek: Picard season 3, Seven of Nine became Captain of the USS Enterprise-g, itself formerly known as the USS Titan-a. Seven spent two years at the rank of Commander thanks to a field commission from Admiral Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart), and served as the Titan-a's First Officer, under the command of Captain Liam Shaw (Todd Stashwick). Commander Seven attempts to resign from Starfleet following the Titan's harrowing fight against a new form of Borg but accepts Shaw's recommendation for promotion.

The Borg Queen (Annie Wersching) had another desire besides assimilation, and Star Trek: Picard season 2 fulfilled it in an unexpected way. You can currently catch Gina Gershon in the action comedy film Borderlands. But before she took on that project, she had starred in the 2023 slasher Thanksgiving, which ended up being a box office hit. Now, she's set to star in a new horror movie titled The Designer, so it doesn't look like she is quite done with the horror world just yet.
The Designer is being described as a body horror flick. It comes from American filmmaker Em Johnson, who is writing the script and will also be directing. Johnson is best known for writing and directing the drama film Balloon Animal. Incandescent Entertainment, First Bloom Films, and Hemlock Circle Productions are the production companies behind the new horror film, with Jiarui Guo, Warner Davis, and Katherine Waddell serving as producers.

Picard & Riker led Romulan missions post-Nemesis, strengthening Federation-Romulan relations after thwarting a coup by Shinzon. Riker's successful Romulan task force mission contrasted with Picard's failed rescue efforts, leading to his resignation from Starfleet. Starfleet chose Picard and Riker for Romulan diplomacy due to their previous interactions with the Romulans, setting the stage for future relations.
Both Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) and Captain William T. Riker (Jonathan Frakes) had to assist the Romulans in cleaning up the mess left by Star Trek Nemesis. Having been enemies for centuries, the Federation and the Romulan Star Empire embarked on a temporary alliance in the 24th century. The alliance between the Romulans and the Federation was in response to the threat posed by Star Trek: Deep Space Nine's Dominion. Nemesis took place four years after the Dominion War ended, and presented a new threat to the fragile peace with the Romulan Star Empire.

Todd Stashwick's hilarious rant exposes the "real" Jonathan Frakes, calling out his mean, handsy behavior and tunafish scent. Audiences initially disliked Shaw, but Stashwick's performance won them over, showcasing his layered portrayal of Captain Liam Shaw. At Stlv: Trek to Vegas panel, Stashwick's gut-busting takedown of Frakes delighted fans.
Star Trek: Picard's Todd Stashwick hilariously exposes the "real" Jonathan Frakes in a blisteringly funny, 100% tongue-in-cheek rant. Stashwick joined the Star Trek family as the abrasive Captain Liam Shaw in Star Trek: Picard season 3. Although audiences were incensed at Shaw at first, Stashwick's layered performance won doubters over. Meanwhile, Shaw had sound reason to dislike Frakes' Captain Will Riker and Patrick Stewart's Admiral Jean-Luc Picard: They were trying to hijack the USS Titan-a from Shaw, its proper Captain.

Warning: Spoilers for Star Trek: Prodigy Season 2's Finale
Commodore Oh orchestrated the Mars Attack in 2385 as a hidden Romulan mastermind, altering the course of the galaxy. Starfleet's response was to ban synthetic life forms, leading to a darker period without Admiral Picard and a weakened Federation influence. The truth about Commodore Oh is exposed in Star Trek: Picard, with Captain Riker defeating her and forcing her to leave Coppelius.
Star Trek: Prodigy season 2's ending depicts the Mars Attack that was the backbone of Star Trek: Picard season 1's events, but no one in Star Trek will know who was responsible for the devastation on Mars for almost 15 years. On April 5, 2385 - First Contact Day - A500 synthetics went rogue and destroyed the Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards on Mars. Over 92,000 souls lost their lives and 20,000 starships were annihilated, crippling Starfleet and ending the United Federation of Planets' planned evacuation...

Raffi Muskier's determination led her down a dark path but she was right - the Romulan Zhat Vash orchestrated the Mars attack of 2385. Raffi, once a Starfleet officer, abandoned the organization after being accused of stalking Admiral Janeway. Raffi was proven right in uncovering a Starfleet conspiracy orchestrated by Commodore Oh and the Zhat Vash.
Star Trek: Picard's Commander Raffi Musiker (Michelle Hurd) is one of modern Star Trek's most interesting characters, but many have forgotten that Raffi once stalked Admiral Kathryn Janeway (Kate Mulgrew). Captain Janeway led the USS Voyager on an unplanned seven-year mission through the unexplored Delta Quadrant, eventually bringing the ship home in one piece. Janeway went on to become one of Starfleet's most celebrated Admirals, and continued to lead missions in Star Trek: Prodigy. Prodigy season 2 ended with the devastating attack on Mars by rogue synths, which was first described in Star Trek: Picard...

Star Trek: Picard shook things up by bringing back The Next Generation crew in seasons two and three, and stunning Star Trek fans. Season one had a mix of characters like Riker, Data, and Troi, but season three saw even more familiar faces like Beverly Crusher, Worf, and Geordi La Forge join Picard.

However, to make room for all these exciting new things, they had to let go of the very people who formed the core of the show this time around, Santiago Cabrera, Allison Pill, Isa Briones, and Evan Evagora after season two, which left actor Michelle Hurd feeling the emotional impact.
The Most Disappointing Fact About Star Trek: Picard!
Season one of Star Trek: Picard brought back familiar faces from The Next Generation, but it was in season three that the reunion truly blossomed with the return of the iconic Og characters.

Glen Powells $220M Rom-Com Fulfills The Secret Emma Stone Movie Trilogy You May Not Have Known About
![Image](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/M/MV5BNWI1NDcwYmEtM2JkMi00YTY3LWIzMDMtNTNjOTQ1YjhkNTI2XkEyXkFqcGc@._V1_QL75_UY281_CR31,0,500,281_.jpg)
Anyone But You references director Will Gluck's previous rom-com, Easy A. Emma Stone's character Olive Penderghast features in three of Gluck's rom-coms - Easy A, Friends with Benefits, and Anyone But You. Stone's involvement in Yorgos Lanthimos' Poor Things may have prevented her from having a cameo in Anyone But You like she had in Friends with Benefits.
Anyone But You fulfills a covert rom-com trilogy by sneaking in a subtle reference to a character Emma Stone played early in her career. The popular romance film is, in fact, chock-full of references, most being towards Shakespeare's 16th-century play "Much Ado About Nothing," from which Anyone But You is loosely inspired. Anyone But You's rough remake of the comedic play features Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell as Beatrice and Ben, respectively, two rivaling singles who pretend to be in a relationship to appease their loved ones and stick it to their exes.

Briony accuses Robbie without learning the whole story from her sister first in Atonement. Ariel can't sing for Eric and doesn't write him a message in The Little Mermaid. Batman and Superman fight each other instead of explaining Lex Luthor's plot in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
There are an unfortunate number of movies where the conflict could have been resolved in minutes if the main characters had simply communicated better. Movies that rely too much on coincidences or contrivances often utilize miscommunications to drive the plot. Humans are flawed and characters should also be susceptible to misunderstandings, especially when they are in stressful circumstances and are not sure who they can trust. However, certain cases apply to characters who should know that they can trust each other, or should at least try to talk before resorting to violence and chaos.
