After growing up as close friends in Boston, Affleck and Damon's careers have been intertwined since they achieved overnight success in 1997 with Good Will Hunting, which earned the duo an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. Over two decades later, Affleck and Damon reunited to write their second script, The Last Duel, in which they also starred. Despite receiving positive reviews from critics, the historical drama bombed badly at the box office, only making back 30 million of its 100 million budget. More supes are joining The Boys. Amazon is rounding out cast for the upcoming fourth season of Emmy-nominated superhero series The Boys, from Sony Pictures TV and Amazon Studios. Valorie Curry (The Lost Symbol) and Susan Heyward (Orange Is The New Black) join as new series regulars for the upcoming season, and Cameron Crovetti, who recurred as Ryan, son of Homelander (Antony Starr) in Seasons 2 and 3, has been promoted to series regular for Season 4. The 4400 has found its leader: Arrow alum Joseph David-Jones has joined The CW’s straight-to-series reboot of the former USA Network sci-fi drama, our sister site Variety reports.

David-Jones, who portrayed Connor Hawke during Arrow‘s final two seasons, will play Rev Johnson, a man of true faith from a powerful, affluent church family who disappeared in the 1990s. He is accustomed to the clout that comes with his position, and will emerge as a natural leader among the 4400. David-Jones’ other TV credits include an arc on Nashville and guest spots on Arrowverse spinoff Legends of Tomorrow.

As the government races to analyze the potential threat and contain the story, the 4400 themselves must grapple with the fact that they’ve been returned with a few upgrades, and the increasing likelihood that they were all brought back now for a specific reason.

David-Jones will play Rev Johnson, who was raised in a powerful and affluent church family, and disappeared in the 1990s. While he is a man of true faith and compassion, he is accustomed to the power and clout afforded his position.

Erica Watson is set to direct the pilot episode of The CW’s upcoming reboot of “The 4400,” Variety has learned exclusively.

“The 4400” reboot was ordered to series at CW in February. Watson will also serve as co-executive producer on the episode in addition to directing.

Watson’s television directing credits include “Powerbook II: Ghost,” “The L Word: Generation Q,” “For Life,” “Krypton,” “Claws,” “Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and the Notorious B.I.G.” and “All American.” She also directed the first half of the upcoming season of “David Makes Man” at OWN. Her short film, “Roubado,” has screened in more than 50 film festivals to date, including some in India, Romania, and Greece among several other countries. She is a 2015 Sundance Knight Fellow and was an artist-in-residence at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival. She is also a 2016 Sony Directing Fellow.

After more than two years in development, a reboot of The 4400 TV series has been ordered by The CW.  The network gave the remake a straight-to-series order, meaning that a pilot has not been produced.

Airing on USA Network from July 2004 until September 2007, The 4400 series stars Joel Gretsch, Jacqueline McKenzie, Mahershala Ali, Laura Allen, Patrick Flueger, Megalyn Echikunwoke, Chad Faust, Kaj-Erik Eriksen, Samantha Ferris, Jenni Baird, Brooke Nevin, Conchita Campbell, Karina Lombard, Billy Campbell, and Peter Coyote. The story begins as a mysterious ball of light deposits a group of exactly 4,400 people near Mount Rainer in Washington state. These people had all previously disappeared in a beam of light, starting as far back as 1946. None of them have aged since their disappearances nor do they have any memory of where they've been.

A cult sci-fi series is making a comeback. The CW has given a straight-to-series order to The 4400, a reimagining of the 2004 USA Network drama. It hails from Riverdale co-executive producer Ariana Jackson and Anna Fricke, who successfully rebooted Walker, Texas Ranger for the CW.

The 4400 is part of four greenlights given by the CW on Tuesday. The network, which last year did not do traditional pilots because of the coronavirus pandemic, ordering four projects straight-to-series, will film at least three pilots in 2021: Diablo Cody and Berlanti Prods.’ Powerpuff Girls; Ava DuVernay and Jill Blankenship’s DC-themed Naomi; and a millennial nun dramedy from Jennie Snyder Urman, Claire Rothrock & Ryann Weir. One big difference between the small screen version of Scream and the movies is the killer's mask. Described as a mixture between the headgear of Jason Voorhees, Michael Myers, and Ghostface, the mask from the Scream TV series has been revealed.

EW unveiled the first look at the murderer's mask in MTV's Scream TV series. Empty eye holes and a gaping mouth show some relation to the iconic Ghostface look, but this mask is also held down by slightly visible straps and retains a more human-like look with its realistic facial dimensions.

With the Scream TV series premiering on June 30th, we'll have to wait until later this summer to see who's hidden beneath this new mask and find out their motives (if any) for murder.

MTV has finally premiered the first footage of the much anticipated Scream television adaptation during their annual Movie awards show after some delay from earlier reports that stated it would be released in October 2014. The new series is based on the popular film franchise of the same name originally written by Kevin Williamson and serves as a reboot of sorts for the franchise.

The television adaption is executively produced by the Weinstein Company and Wes Craven with new creative team of Jill E. Blotevogel and Jaime Paglia as showrunners and features an all new cast of Bella Thorne, Willa Fitzgerald, John Karna, Carlson Young, Bex Taylor-Klaus and Amadeus Serafini. Jason Wiles replaces Joel Gretsch in the role of Sheriff Clark Hudson as reported by THR.

MTV’s Scream has not premiered yet, but that hasn’t stopped drama from taking place. Once again the series deals with casting changes. This time Joel Gretsch is leaving and won’t be playing Sheriff Hudson. The reason is that once again the network is taking the series in a very different directing, causing the need for them to find another actor for the role. No word on when or who they will pick, but they better hurry if they wish to make the October timeline they announce last year.

This is the second time the show switched cast around. This is on top of their already big changes to the plot, making the whole idea seem not so great. It looks like they may have to push back on their release date if they keep on changing things up. Otherwise they will never get to that other side...

I have no idea what to expect from the upcoming Scream-inspired TV series being developed by MTV. One of the last things we heard was that the series wouldn’t even feature the iconic Ghost Face mask, which kind of makes the series pointless, because that was Scream’s staple. But there’s a new bit of news that could mean otherwise.

There’s a report from Bloody Disgusting that indicates that they may actually pay homage to the original films after all. They say that the series will recreate the classic opening scene from the original Scream, and it will supposedly take place in the first episode of the series.
