Like many of the original Simpsons voice actors, Hayden, 70, plays numerous roles on the show, including Jimbo Jones, Rod (and sometimes Todd) Flanders and the fan-favorite elementary school sad sack Milhouse Van Houten, best known for his bone-dry cuffs and unrequited love of Lisa Simpson that leads him to dangerous places.

Hayden’s final performance on The Simpsons will be in this Sunday’s new episode “Treehouse of Horror Presents: Simpsons Wicked This Way Comes,” and, to celebrate Hayden’s many years of hard work and dedication, the official Simpsons Twitter account posted a touching tribute. ESPN, Disney, The Simpsons, and the NFL will premiere The Simpsons Funday Football on Monday, Dec. 9, an animated Monday Night Football game transformed in real-time into the iconic Simpsons world using Sony’s Beyond Sports Technology.

Atoms Stadium in Springfield will host the fully immersive fan viewing experience featuring the Cincinnati Bengals at the Dallas Cowboys, ESPN’s Monday Night Football game that evening.

The Simpsons Funday Football alternate viewing presentation will stream on Disney+ and ESPN+ and, on mobile, with NFL+. The traditional Monday Night Football telecast will be available on ESPN, ABC, and ESPN Deportes with Monday Night Football with Peyton and Eli on ESPN2.

Both the traditional telecast and Peyton and Eli will also be on ESPN+, making each distinct presentation available in the ESPN App. All telecasts will begin at 8 p.m. Et.

The House of Mouse dropped a teaser for the state-of-the-art sporting experience during halftime of Monday’s game. On Dec. 9, Disney+ and ESPN+ will stream the Dallas Cowboys-Cincinnati Bengals matchup, but it will take place in Springfield’s Atoms Stadium, with all the players replaced by dozens of animated characters based on those from the Fox and Disney+ series The Simpsons.

It will be the second year in a row that Disney+ will stream an animated version of an NFL game, but this year’s game will be bigger on multiple fronts: For starters, it is a Monday Night Football matchup, not a Sunday morning game like last year’s Toy Story game.
