This year is going to be a Fan-tastic one for Marvel superheroes and villains. Plenty of movies are coming in 2025 that will have Marvel Cinematic Universe fans begging for more. However, the magic is when the character on the page is embodied by the perfect person on the screen.
Several X-Men and Avengers of the past have proven when those two merge into one perfectly, a supernova of excitement can happen. One of the superpowers of Kevin Feige and his team is casting. Not enough praise can be lauded for the work Marvel Studios puts in to choose the right individual to bring their characters to life. Look at 2025 in the MCU, which will include Harrison Ford as President Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross/Red Hulk, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams/Wonder Man, Vanessa Kirby, Pedro Pascal, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as the Fantastic Four, and Ralph Ineson as Galacatus.

Was Ben Affleck & Matt Damon Sued By A New York Attorney? (Photo Credit – Koimoi)
A New York attorney took legal action against Ben Affleck and Matt Damon back in 2023, claiming they stalked and harassed her and even bugged her home. The lawsuit, filed in the New York Supreme Court under the Adult Survivors Act, also accused Jennifer Lopez, Casey Affleck, Kevin Smith, Ryan Seacrest, and Harvey Weinstein of involvement.
According to court documents obtained by the Daily Mail, the attorney alleged that Affleck and Damon hacked her devices and used details from her life in Saturday Night Live skits and Weinstein-produced films. She claimed their actions left her fearing she would be kidnapped or worse. The case also targeted major studios, including Disney, Warner Bros, and Paramount, for allegedly enabling the harassment.

The first trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps will be released online tomorrow, and Marvel Studios has now shared the first official theatrical poster in anticipation.
As one-sheets go, it's nothing special. The artwork doesn't feature any characters from the movie, only a launch button with the surnames of Marvel's First Family. We will most likely get a more revealing poster with the trailer.
Though Marvel hasn't debuted any official promos for the movie (aside from a few snippets in the teaser that was released earlier today), leaked previews of varying degrees of quality did the rounds online last year. Fans are hoping that tomorrow's sneak peek will be made up of all-new footage, but it's worth keeping in mind that the recently-released Daredevil: Born Again trailer was (a few shots aside) basically the same as the one that screened during at a couple of different events in 2024.

“The Haunting of Hill House” star Victoria Pedretti hyped fellow actor – and co-creator of Netflix’s “Anne+” – Hanna van Vliet at International Film Festival Rotterdam Sunday evening.
“You are a leader,” she told her.
“True. I’m a leader,” responded van Vliet, admitting the change in the industry starts with “diversifying the teams.”
“We made ‘Anne+’ without any money, so we had all this freedom and could cast and hire whoever we wanted. People get better at their jobs and later, they will be the ones in power. We have to start small and grow everyone into ‘the big guy.’ Girl. Person.”
While the system is “corrupt,” you have to “know it in order to infiltrate it,” added Pedretti.

Veteran actress Jacqueline Bisset says she feels “unsympathetic” towards women who complained of harassment during the advent of the #MeToo movement, saying she feels women are partially to blame for their treatment.
In an interview with Page Six, the British actress who has made her home in the US for more than 50 years, said:
“I understand as an idea, it’s important that men behave, but I do really think it’s important that women behave, too. I think how you dress, what your subtext is very, very important. It’s very dangerous and not to be played with.”
She added: “You have to be very careful what you put out [there].”

He's one of the most formidable, dangerous, and fearsome heroes in the Marvel universe, armed with nothing but his wits and a weapons cache suitable for a small army. He's faced off against the likes of Spider-Man, Wolverine, and even Ghost Rider, so it's safe to say it's tough being The Punisher. Currently, only four men can attest to the title in live-action film and television. Since 1989, these stars have dared don the iconic superhero costume of cargo pants, a black t-shirt, and a trenchcoat long before Neo made them cool in "The Matrix." The question is, which portrayal emerges battered, bloodied, and superior to the rest?

The Harvey Weinstein episode has been a dark age in Hollywood’s eccentric and colorful history. Throughout the megaproducer’s scandalous career, he has preyed on actresses, starting from Gwyneth Paltrow to Angelina Jolie. The lawsuit that unceremoniously ended his career finally landed him in prison in February 2020.

However, trauma often lingers even after much time has passed. Despite shredding the hopes and dreams of many young and wide-eyed debutantes in the field, Weinstein’s actions remained unheard of and unspoken among friends and family.
Now, in the post-Me Too era, actresses have been more confident about voicing their own stories regarding their one fateful encounter with Harvey Weinstein.

Hayao Miyazaki is a renowned filmmaker who has won two Oscars for his movies from his Studio Ghibli. His movies often have a massive amount of depth, underlying themes, and a realistic perspective that is often missing from animations that are supposed to be ‘for the children.’

Miyazaki is often referred to as “Japan’s Walt Disney” for his massive contributions to making Japanese animation a worldwide name. Many would believe that being compared to the biggest name in the filmmaking scene would make Hayao Miyazaki happy, but this thought could not be further from the truth.
Hayao Miyazaki had a deep hatred of most things American ever since he was a little boy due to his being born at a perilous and tragic time in human history. This led to him hating Disney and Disneyland as well.

Former NBA star Dwyane Wade recently shared that he had been diagnosed with cancer previously. Although he seems to be doing fine now, he had to have almost half of his left kidney removed for the treatment. Wade stated that although it wasn’t easy going through that, his family was always by his side to help him through it.

Interestingly, Wade’s family life hasn’t always been smooth. Although he and his wife Gabrielle Union have been happily married for a long time, they faced quite a few bumps at the beginning of their relationship.
In fact, there was a time when their relationship almost threatened to crumble due to an incident, the impact of which they can feel even now. Wade once stated that talking that out with his now-wife was harder than even playing in the NBA finals.

Quentin Tarantino is arguably one of the best directors of his generation, with his signature style of combining gritty violence with humor proving to be successful time and again. While the filmmaker has a dedicated fanbase and critical acclaim to back him, detractors of his work, especially his generation of filmmakers do exist.

Julie Delpy had a Göteborg crowd in stitches on Wednesday as she accepted theHonorary Dragon Award.
“I am filming it so that my son believes me,” she told the audience which welcomed her with a standing ovation.
As an actor, Delpy collaborated with the likes of Linklater, Kieślowski, Volker Schlöndorff and Agnieszka Holland. Her very first film, “Detective,” was directed by Jean-Luc Godard.
“It was really exciting to work with them. What’s happening?! I thought they were all going to come out now,” she said, startled by a technical glitch.
“I also did a few bad films, but nobody has ever prepared That list. Everyone has forgotten about them, because that’s what happens to bad films. Which is good.”
Eager to pursue directing from an early age, she quickly ran into a wall.
“I was born into a feminist family and raised with this idea that I’m 100% equal.

“Is it too late to seek redemption? Or is the clock ticking too fast for those who’ve walked the path of darkness?” This is the question that lingers in the air as Harvey Weinstein, once a towering titan in Hollywood, faces his retrial under the glaring spotlight of the #MeToo movement. The echoes of his alleged actions reverberate through the lives of many women, including the courageous voices of Salma Hayek, Rose McGowan, and Gwyneth Paltrow, who came forward with their painful truths.

Harvey Weinstein begged a Manhattan judge to move up his sexual assault retrial on Wednesday morning, with the disgraced film producer pleading he may not be around much longer due to his poor health.
“I’m in a serious emergency situation. I am begging the court to move your date,” Weinstein said, according to media reports.
Judge Curtis Farber set his next court date for April 15, a week earlier than it was first expected to start. But Weinstein said that is not soon enough. “I won’t be there for April,” he insisted.
Weinstein detailed the health issues he has been dealing with during his rare court appearance, including a recent heart surgery, diabetes and a cancer diagnosis. The 72-year-old former producer also urged the judge to delay another trial that is already on the schedule so he can get out of Rikers Island, which he called a “hellhole.”

A gaunt-looking Harvey Weinstein pleaded with the judge in his upcoming criminal retrial to move the start date forward, even by a week, because “I don’t know how much longer I can hold on” while the fallen mogul remains imprisoned in New York City’s notorious Rikers Island jail.
Judge Curtis Farber on Wednesday morning set April 15 as a trial date after denying a motion by Weinstein to have the indictment against him dismissed. With the schedule set, the cancer-stricken Weinstein, seated in a wheelchair, addressed the judge directly.
“I’m asking you, and begging you,” Weinstein said, his voice rising as he appealed for his trial to begin on April 7. “Every week counts. I’m holding on because I want justice for myself. I want this to be over.”
He said that “every day is a struggle” at Rikers, which he referred to as a “hellhole” and a “stain on this city.

Harvey Weinstein’s New York trial date has been set for April 15, but the disgraced movie mogul pleaded for an earlier start due to his recent cancer diagnosis and poor health conditions.
Weinstein addressed Judge Curtis J. Farber during a hearing in a Manhattan court Wednesday morning, asking to push his retrial up sooner than April.
“I can’t hold on,” Weinstein told Farber in court, according to People Magazine. “I’m begging for you to move the date…I want to be out of this hellhole.”
In October, Weinstein was diagnosed with bone marrow cancer and has been imprisoned on Rikers Island while awaiting the retrial. He claimed he “won’t be there” for the April 15 date and requested Farber move the trial up, even a week earlier to April 7. Weinstein has been treated at Bellevue Hospital for the cancer, in addition to leukemia, diabetes, coronary artery disease and sleep apnea.

An April 15 trial date has been set for Harvey Weinstein.
However, Weinstein pleaded in court for Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Curtis J. Farber to move the trial date sooner, citing his health conditions and saying, “I won’t be there for April.”
“I’m asking and begging your honor to move your trial,” Weinstein said. “I can’t hold on anymore. I’m holding on because I want justice for myself.”
Seated in a wheelchair, Weinstein made a rare address to the court and raised his voice to plead with Farber to switch his trial date with an earlier trial that’s already on the calendar. He called the conditions at Rikers Island where he’s being held a “medieval situation” and said he believes he’s headed back to Bellevue Hospital “any day now.”

Controversial Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein, who became the infamous face of the #MeToo movement, is set to appear in court on Wednesday for the commencement of his retrial. The former Miramax founder was accused of s*xual harassment and misconduct by dozens of women, and was convicted in 2020.
Noted comedian Katt Williams had previously claimed that he was propositioned by Weinstein for s*x years ago and he had declined. He mentioned that he did not know the extent of the Hollywood mogul’s power back in the day and that he was not supposed to say no.

The nine episode first season of the Marvel series Daredevil: Born Again is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ on March 4, 2025 – and during an interview with SFX magazine, showrunner Dario Scardapane, who previously worked on Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan and the Netflix series The Punisher, said this show will be even darker than the Netflix Daredevil series it follows, with less navel-gazing and more frequent big action sequences.
Although the initial plan was to rework some elements and make Daredevil: Born Again stand separate from the Netflix Daredevil series (despite sharing some cast members), the show underwent a creative overhaul when the writers and actors strikes shut down production in 2023. Now, this series is a direct follow-up to the Netflix series, picking up five years later. Scardapane was brought in to serve as showrunner during the overhaul, and the behind-the-scenes shake-up also led to Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, the...

“If you’re not ready to risk the usual, you will have to settle for the ordinary.” That line from Jim Rohn rings truer than ever when you think of a figure like Quentin Tarantino. A man who’s spent three decades rewriting the rulebook of filmmaking, flipping the bird to conventions, and proving that movies don’t just entertain—they provoke, jolt, and, above all, stick with you.
Yet here we are, on the edge of a Tarantino-less era, with the iconic director putting the brakes on his final film and the reason? It’s as unexpected as it is heartwarming. But as always with him, nothing is ever what it seems on the surface.

Daredevil: Born Again is arguably one of the most anticipated projects in the MCU for 2025, despite the franchise dropping three big-budget films in the coming year. The revival, which will continue the story of Matt Murdock from his stint over at Netlfix, has been teased to have a cameo that fans will not expect.
Charlie Cox as Daredevil in a still from She-Hulk: Attorney At Law
According to showrunner Dario Scardpane, a character that fans do not expect to show up in the series will be making an appearance. The cast is already stacked with a slew of characters like The Punisher and White Tiger who will be littering the streets of Hell’s Kitchen, but there is one character who could also make an appearance in the story.

Daredevil: Born Again wasn't always going to be so closely linked to Netflix's Daredevil. However, as part of the show's creative overhaul, Marvel Studios realised that it was something fans wanted and proceeded to bring back several familiar actors and characters.
We don't expect the revival to be too beholden to what's come before and, in an interview with SFX, showrunner Dario Scardapane admitted there will be some very specific alterations.
"There is more fun in the moments with these characters and a lot less navel-gazing than before," he said of how Daredevil: Born Again compares to its predecessor. "The earlier show, at its best, was fantastic. At its worst, it was two characters in a room talking about what a hero is. I felt that had been done."
"I'm not taking swipes," Scardapane added. "I just didn't want to hear characters grousing about their lot in life. I...

Reese Witherspoon Assault Story ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
Reese Witherspoon once shared a mind-wrenching truth about her early Hollywood days. At just 16, she was assaulted by a film director. But that’s not all; she felt “anger… at the agents and producers” who made silence a condition of her work.
Witherspoon alluded to this in a powerful speech at the Elle Women in Hollywood event, opening up about a chapter she’d long kept under wraps. “I wish I could tell you that that was an isolated incident in my career, but sadly, it wasn’t,” she admitted. Her words hit hard, especially as Hollywood reckoned with its dark underbelly during the Harvey Weinstein fallout.
The Oscar-winning actress didn’t dive into specifics about her teenage experience, but she confessed to enduring “multiple other experiences of harassment and sexual assault” throughout her career. Despite years of silence, something about this moment,...

Violence and media have often come under scrutiny over their alleged influence on real-life violence. While leading industry figures like Quentin Tarantino expressed that they have no obligation to what a person does after watching his work, Jon Bernthal on the flipside acknowledged this debate surrounding the desensitization of violence.

The publisher posted to X Friday night writing, “Dark Horse takes seriously the allegations against Neil Gaiman and we are no longer publishing his works. Confirming that the ‘Anansi Boys’ comic series and collected volume have been canceled.”
U.K.-based Tortoise Media spotlighted accounts from four women — two who came forward in early July 2024 and two more who told their stories at the end of the month — about their encounters with the Coraline and Sandman creator.
The comic books are the latest projects in Gaiman’s creative catalogue that have paused or been canceled in light of the news, which Gaiman addressed on his personal blog, denying the allegations.

Tom Cruise was nominated for four Oscars and three of the nods were for his acting performances. It is sad to see his losing streak at the Academy Awards, especially since he bagged the Golden Globes for these three roles.

The Academy Awards are considered the pinnacle of cinematic achievement. They are a celebration of films that have left an indelible mark on audiences and the industry alike. Every year, the Best Picture category incites intense debates about which movie truly deserves the honor.
Most of the time the Academy’s and the fans’ opinions align with winners such as The Godfather or Schindler’s List. Other times, however, their choices leave a bitter taste, as was the case with Crash and Shakespeare in Love.

The 2025 Academy Award nominations are out, and they are whelming. The musical drama Emilia Pérez received the most nominations with 13, followed by Wicked and The Brutalist with 10 apiece, and then A Complete Unknown and Conclave with eight apiece.
Meanwhile, Dune: Part Two got only five nominations, down from the 10 that Dune: Part One received after it came out in 2021. This is despite the fact that Dune: Part Two was better reviewed than Part One and made more money at the box office than Part One. If you saw the movie, you know that Part Two finished adapting Frank Herbert's seminal 1965 sci-fi novel Dune, so it was no wonder that the second movie improved on the first; director Denis Villeneuve got to work with the juiciest parts of the book.
So why did Part Two receive fewer Oscar nominations? And why did Villeneuve not get a nomination for either of the films?...

Despite reports that audiences wanted less sex on the big screen, hanky panky has made an impressive comeback in the last year. A few thoughts.

Don Lemon thinks audiences would love to see Matt Lauer back on TV, “now that [being] canceled is over” with Donald Trump back in office.
Speaking to the “Hollywood Raw” podcast, the former CNN anchor gushed that, as far as he can tell, “people love” the former “Today” show host, who was fired in 2017 by NBC for “inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace” which the network determined “may not have been an isolated incident.”
2 years later, in Ronan Farrow’s 2019 expose “Catch and Kill,” Lauer was accused on the record of sexually harassing several former NBC colleagues, and one former NBC producer accused him of raping her. The book also reports that Harvey Weinstein once attempted to use his knowledge of Lauer’s behavior to convince NBC to back off reporting about his own sexual misconduct. Lauer has denied all accusations.

Exclusive: Christopher Nolan’s adaptation of The Odyssey is adding to its already stellar cast as sources tell Deadline that Emmy winner Jon Bernthal is boarding the film. He joins a cast that includes Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o and Charlize Theron.
Last month, Universal revealed that Nolan’s follow-up to his Oscar-winning Oppenheimer would be an adaptation of the epic poem composed by Homer around the 8th century Bce.
“Christopher Nolan’s next film The Odyssey is a mythic action epic shot across the world using brand new Imax film technology,” the studio said at the time. “The film brings Homer’s foundational saga to Imax film screens for the first time and opens in theaters everywhere on July 17, 2026.”
It is unknown who Bernthal will be playing; Universal had no comment on his casting.

Having attended many tech conferences in that span of time, the panel that retains all these years later is one where I saw a dumpy old man in a lab coat give a PowerPoint presentation on the potential societal benefits of sex robots. Besides opportunistically saying that these inventions would have the potential to stop violent men like Harvey Weinstein (this was in the heat of MeToo), there was the highlight of him noting that he initially felt the inspiration to try inventing robots for men to have sex with in light of the grief inflicted on the world by 9/11.

Like Rome, no architectural wonder was ever built in a day ... but an AI controversy currently embroiling social media needed only a few hours to imperil one of the year's biggest Oscars frontrunners. "The Brutalist" easily stands as one of 2024's best movies, as /Film's Chris Evangelista reviewed for us. Directed by Brady Corbet from a script by himself and Mona Fastvold, the 215-minute epic tells the story of fictional Jewish architect László Tóth as he emigrates from Hungary in the aftermath of the Holocaust to the United States. Hopelessly separated from his wife Erzsébet (Felicity Jones) and left almost entirely on his own in a strange and hostile country, he embarks on a grueling odyssey to make a living as one of the most brilliant architects of his time ... if he can only find someone who recognizes his talents and plucks him from obscurity.

Studio Ghibli and Hayao Miyazaki are names that resound across the entire world as hallmarks of quality creation and excellent direction. But it was not always the case, as even these legendary names had struggled to penetrate into the Western market a few decades back.

When Hayao Miyazaki’s Princess Mononoke premiered in the United States in 1999, it marked a pivotal moment for Studio Ghibli and was going to be their ticket to fame and recognition in the international market. This was the studio’s first major uncut release in the country since there was the infamous heavy editing of Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind.
Determined to protect the film’s artistic integrity and deliver only the best content and entertainment to the audience, Ghibli producer Toshio Suzuki had famously sent Miramax’s Harvey Weinstein a samurai sword with the note, “no cuts.

The HBO documentary Surveilled, an hour-long film directed by Matthew O’Neill and Perri Peltz with Ronan Farrow, examines Pegasus, a spyware created by the Israeli Nso Group.
This software breaks into smartphones, extracts data, and turns on cameras or microphones without detection. Governments use it against criminals, and target journalists, dissidents, and citizens who oppose them. The film shows privacy destruction through technology.
People depend on smartphones daily, yet Surveilled makes clear the impact of digital monitoring. Governments claim spyware keeps society safe from crime, but use these systems to dominate and restrict people, including in democratic countries. The documentary reveals stark facts about personal devices becoming weapons that endanger basic freedoms.
