Imperfect Love
The film takes us into the dreaming head of Ana. In the dream, she sees Julio inside a travel agency, a longtime lover she separated from 10 years earlier. Julio is scheduled to leave for Norway the next day but he still invites her for lunch at their favorite Italian restaurant. At the restaurant he gathers the courage to invite her to take a walk around the city with him, so he can take a good memory with him, he says.
Having only the few hours that destiny has once again reserved to them, they set on a nostalgic journey through the great metropolis of São Paulo, visiting what Julio calls his favorite spots and places. Julio loves architecture and the discovery of the new and the old and having lived in the city for more than 20 years he can go from a hidden bucolic road inside the city park to a colorful Italian restaurant and a major touristic spot and still find the poetry in it. Places they used to enjoy during their younger years, places that once nurtured their love and will now help its rebirth. The night closes in as they continue their walk through the city, pushing them towards the inevitable love scene. But since one must awake from every dream, Ana wakes up. But who says we have to accept what destiny presents us? After all, as an old American proverb says: Dreams are wishes our heart makes.
