Mechanism
After six years of work Kris Nethercutt finished his 20 ft. metal statue, Rusty Mechanism. This 3,000 lb. tribute to factory workers was made entirely of old parts gathered from The Factory at Franklin. Rusty always stood outside of Kris's shop as he built him. After he was completed he was to be transported from Kris's shop back to the place where his parts were collected as Rusty Mechanism's final spot. A variety of working class characters enter the film as they move the mechanical tribute made out to men, not dissimilar to the ones pictured helping this transportation.
