Twisted 1997
Twisted (1997) feature film written and directed by Seth Michael Donsky.
Twisted premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival in 1997 and was re-discovered in 2013 by the Museum of Modern Art which accepted Twisted into its permanent film collection.
This contemporary adaptation of Dickens Oliver Twist, set in the gay underground of New York's 1990's, features the pen ultimate film performance of Oscar nominee William Hickey (Prizzi's Honor) and the first film performance of Emmy, Tony and Grammy winner Billy Porter (Pose, Kinky Boots).
The Los Angels times called Twisted "A stylized, operatic fable of innocence and corruption," and the Village Voice called Seth Michael Donsky "the next Gus Van Sant" for his work on Twisted.
