Take Your Pills (2018)
Torn but bad things outweigh the good
I'm torn with this. On the one hand it pointed out that stimulants can be greatly beneficial to those with ADHD. It also made a point of stating that while there's a large amount of people who believe that "Everyone's a little ADHD" this is in fact not true.
It did however use ADHD & ADD interchangeably without explaining the difference of what they are plus even though this was made in 2018 there's no reference to the fact that ADD was absorbed into an ADHD diagnosis as the "Inattentive Type" as of the revised edition of the DSM III in 1987.
As well as this they definitely focused more on the "Stimulants are in a Crisis as bad as the Opiate Crisis" and "Given out Far Too Freely" camps and interviewed more people who didn't have ADHD and regretted taking it than they did people who actually had ADHD and saw real longterm benefits from taking them.
The Netflix Afterparty (2020)
Did the Stars of Shadow and Bone a MAJOR disservice!
Listening to what the cast of Shadow and Bone had to say was fascinating but the hosts of the show didn't appear to really take anything seriously and some of the questions that the hosts asked the cast were ridiculous.
The humour was cringy and not funny at all. In fact it came across as if the hosts were desperate for attention laughs.
I will not be wasting any more of my time on this series.
Snowpiercer (2013)
Worst film I've seen in a while
There was absolutely no point to this film. No payoff for the characters struggles. Nothing. Complete waste of a great cast as well.
Frozen (2013)
One of the worst
Felt that none of the characters except for Olaf and Sven were likeable and because of that all the usual Disney charm was missing.
Olaf's Frozen Adventure (2017)
Better than Frozen
Olaf and Sven are the best things about Frozen so I loved this short story about finding out about Cristmas traditions and starting your own.
The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part (2019)
Lost it's energy
I love the first Lego movie but I found this severely lacked the energy and fun of the first one. I felt the new characters were flat and that they spent too much of the film in the real world compared to the first film and that left it feeling choppy.
Black Panther (2018)
Worst MCU "Villain" let this down.
The hip-hop gangster feel and use of hip-hop music anytime Killmonger was on screen ruined the overall feel of the film for me. The villain's story was also like every other villain out there except without the feel of genuine threat.
Killmonger aside however, it was not a bad origin story. The effects were great and the cast were good just a shame that they had to give the villain such a bland story, make him out to be the next biggest hip-hop star (ruining the flow of an otherwise great score) and have him portrayed as a spoilt playground bully rather than a villain of credible threat.
Captain Marvel (2019)
Cardboard Characters
Actual rating = 4.5/10
Characters were boring. I normally get emotional really easily but I felt nothing for any of them. Sadly the best thing, aside from the Stan Lee cameo was the cat
Castle Rock (2018)
Brilliant!
This was so intriguing. I've started reading more of Stephen King's books (having only read The Shining, Doctor Sleep and It before watching this) because I loved it so much. Each episode ended on a cliffhanger, none of the episodes were bad or boring and even the epilogue of last episode has left me desperate for season 2.
If you want something full of atmosphere that doesn't spell everything out for you and always leaves you wondering this is your show.
