Gangs of London (2020)
The violence hurts the show.
Always enjoy good gangsters shows and this was a welcome addition to the genre. Also like the European flavor which greatly differs from American gangster films. I also like diversity among the characters. Very good story lines and an overall well done show. Really good acting performances, but the character development was under done a bit. The cinematography was very well done with very interesting camera angles. I wish more British shows were available for distribution in the United States of America. This is also different from the basic murder mysteries the England puts out. My huge knock on this show was that the violence was way way too much and over the top. The violence was outright gratuitous. I asked myself why is such over the top violence needed in such a good show. I mean how many exploding heads do you need.
Honk for Jesus. Save Your Soul. (2022)
Why? I just don't understand it.
One of the worst movies I have ever seen. Why did this type of movie need to be made? For both of these actors these roles seemed beneath them and beneath their talent level. Did they need the money? This is a one-sided look at the church and it is very stereotyped. Also I have seen this church building used in various cinematic features. This building was also used in the TV show Greenleaf. Is there only one church building that can be used for Hollywood productions. I do not understand why such a movie needed to be made. Is there a market for films such as these. Very disappointed in these actors. But this is America!
Breeders (2020)
Good show about two (2) very bad parents.
The show and characters are amusing in many ways. But, the father is extremely abusive and the mother is passively abusive and enabling to the father. At times it's tough to watch their assault on their son. This is unaddressed and deep seated anger. I really love all of the grandparents they are very delightful characters. Overall it's a worthwhile show to watch. About to get into Season 3.
The Handmaid's Tale (2017)
Good show. Borrowed story.
While I really like the Handmaid's Tale. It is well done and very well acted. It has a very good storyline as well. However, this is a borrowed story. The dramatized plight of the women in the show was the actual plight of African-Americans in the United States. Black babies were very often taken away from their birth mothers and sold out a profit. During the Jim Crow era in America, African-Americans lived in fear of retribution for the smallest social in fraction, which could lead to a lynching. While this is a very good show, let us remember that it is a borrowed story.
Kalifat (2020)
This show really delivered!!
Was not expecting this!! The most intense drama I have seen since Breaking Bad. The last episode literally had me out of breath. This is a Swedish show but you can watch it on Netflix if you put it on an English-speaking setting. Really good story, spellbinding, and also has a lot of suspense. Well acted and delivers on every level.
All in the Family (1971)
The Pound for Pound G.O.A.T.
Pound for pound this is the greatest show in the history of television. Archie Bunker is the greatest character in the history of American television. Trailblazing, hilarious, great acting, great storylines, and they addressed every possible issue under the sun and dealt with relevant issues. This show made television what it is today.
One Day at a Time (2017)
Good show
Good show. They don't need the white guys. Schneider and that doctor. They are really stupid and add nothing to the show.
