American Idol: The Search for a Superstar (2002)
This show is a RIOT on prime-time TV!!!
I gotta say this show rocks and I mean ROCKS!!! Never has a show been more engaging, more stupendous, more...EVERYTHING. Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul make good judges on the show. But the real star of this prime-time escapade is Simon Cowell. I simply love the guy!! He has the charm and the charisma with an attitude to match. The way he tells it straight to some of the contestants who absolutely CANNOT sing is so cool and downright funny you'll bound to crack a smile or gut-wrenching laughter at his criticizing prowess. One episode featured a 17 year old girl who auditioned in front of Simon and Co. However, after she sung, Simon went straight for the jugular and told her that she "wasn't attractive". That remark sent me rolling on the floor with laughter and tears streaming down my face!!! That part was simply put WONDERFUL!!! American Idol is great prime-time entertainment and it will have you tuning in to see who gets verbally bashed on live TV. Don't miss out!!!
The Hills Have Eyes (2006)
A good, solid horror flick with plenty of guts and gore to spare.
Without a doubt, solid (albeit gory) entertainment. Most of the films that I've seen were kinda lame. Saw 1 and 2 was okay but none of them had the intensity and blood-soaked carnage as this (with the exception of "Hostel" which IS far more sicker and gruesome than THHE). The direction and cinematography is BEAUTIFUL; the arid, endless desert is a wonderful setting for this horror film. My only gripe with this film is that there's very little character development. I wanted to know more about the mutants and their inner workings as well as more interaction. It may slow the film down, but a little more development wouldn't hurt. I would advise parents not to take the younglins along for this one but I was shocked to discover a group of 8 year olds on a field trip watching this film in the theater. I fear the worst for them come bedtime.
The Hills Have Eyes is a solid gore fest for those with a taste for the gory details. With a little more character development, it would've been more than a horror film. It would also be an instant classic.
Rockman Zero 2 (2003)
Great game on the GBA.
I gotta say, this is one of the most challenging games on the GBA. The first stage is easy but from there it goes downhill in a big way not only from the levels which feature a lot of traps and hazards, but also from the bosses themselves. Memorizing their attack patterns and striking at the right moment is the only way to succeed because this is not a game that you can beat very quickly and you often die a lot.
This is a game mostly suited for hardcore gamers. I would not advise casual gamers or young kids playing this because they will get frustrated very quickly. Buy this game if you're a hardcore gamer, but if your new to the franchise, proceed with caution because you'll be in for a rude awakening.
