They are Adults, Not Kids and Too Many Negative Traits/Events
It is almost like the scriptwriter couldn't come-up with much substance for the female lead (FL) character, Jo Sam-Dal,
played by Shin Hye-Sun.
I understand the FL is going through a vulnerable time. However, the FL is over-the-top weak, acts childish too many times than not, whiney, selfish, not too smart, has a lot of repeating the questions when asked questions, talking to herself way to much, weak script lines, etc.
Also, I cannot believe that the scriptwriter has this late-30 year old FL character, act so childish about expressing her feelings of attraction to the male lead (ML) character, Jo Yong-Pil, played by Ji Chang-Wook. Come on now they are not children. It is very normal (including in conservative countries) to have women and men in their 20s, 30s, 40s, etc., to have intimate relations, love, dating, skinship, etc.
There is too many drunks, along with cheating, lying, betrayal, dishonesty, corruption, narcissistic cancel culture bullies/shamers, suicide attempt,
verbal abuse, physical violence, yelling, selfishness, etc.

Great Series
I was totally hooked with this fantasy, drama, mystery series! Suspense throughout with a lot of twists and turns. The writers did an excellent job. The protagonist characters were great; not over-the-top, very relatable in most cases (excluding super powers), likeable, great rapport, etc. The antagonist characters were also great. It was a cohesive story. The actors were fantastic! The two male leads portrayed such a great bond with each other! The director did a outstanding job. There is enough room in this story for another season, especially since all the characters & actors are nicely melded together.
You won't be disappointed.

Female Lead Character Annoying
The writer & director failed epically with the female lead (FL) character. The FL is so annoying, immature, childish, etc. Excessively Aegyo... Her babyish, cutesy voice made me cringe. She freaking cries & hides like a child because she didn't get invited to eat with people that she already knows didn't want to be around her. She skips & twirls around like a child. I also noticed at times when an attractive male appeared in the series, adult women are staring, giggling, whispering & taking pictures of the male. Why? Yes, the series is for entertainment, but you can still achieve that without unrealistic & excessive behavior.

Female Lead Lacking in this Drama
The female lead (FM), Song Hye Kyo lacked expressions. She needs to try to go beyond the depressive or bored look in order to capture her audience. As an actress she lacks depth. She tries to carry her performance on her physical appearance alone, which she is pretty for her age. However, there are a lot of beautiful actresses her age that can act way beyond her.
The male lead (ML), Park Bo Gum, was a better actor than FL, and 12 years her junior. I also believe he tried extra hard to compensate for the FL's lack of acting skills (depth/expression).
I believe the FL was too old for the ML, which I believe Song Hye Kyo wants much younger male leads to help carry the show.

A Definite Watch
Song Joong-Ki and Lee Sung- Min gave stellar performances and they were absolutely exceptional. They knocked it right out of the park! I truly enjoyed the relationship of these two characters, as well as the chemistry between the two actors.
Greed and repentance make for an outstanding storyline, and adding fantasy into the mixture is brilliant!
Other cast members who
provided great
performances include Kim Park Hyuk-Kwon, Young-Jae, Kim Shin-Rok, Jung Hee-Tae, Kim Hyun, Park Ji-Hyun, Jo Han-Chul, Kim Do-Hyun, Park Ji-Hoon, Kang Ki-Doong, and Shin Hyun-been. No matter the amount they contributed to the storyline, each cast member did outstanding.
A Model Family (2022)
Wife character was unbearable
The Wife character, Kang Eun-Ju (played by actress Yoon Jin-Seo), who was married to the male lead character, Park Dong-Ha (played by actor Jung Woo) ruined it for me. I couldn't get past the Wife's mean, cruel, demeaning, bossy, selfish existence. She was always blaming and putting the husband down; chastising the daughter; acting disgusted towards her mother; pretending to be a concerned parent. She was so annoying with her dead-fish look, it was unbearable. As crazy as this sounds, but her drug-mule husband was way too good for her! She absolutely didn't deserve him, or her kids and mother.
I don't know if the actress has a dead-fish look in real-life, or if she was portraying the wife character that way per the writer/director's wishes, but it killed it for me.

Update 08/14/22: Bad Script... Original Review: Over-the-top Comedy, then Thriller with Drama & Comedy Interspersed
Updated review: As I continued to watch the series, I realized the script is just plain bad... The actors are failing to deliver, but it would be hard just based on the script, the characters they play, and the directing.
Original review with 7 stars: Over-the-top comedy at the beginning, but has more of a thriller theme now with drama and a bit of toned-down comedy. Lead actor does a great job as the eccentric shaman character, as well as the astute profiler. Supporting cast does a good job too. One character that I did not particularly like was the female lead character Han Jae-hui played by Oh Yeon-seo--the character does so many annoying things that it got irritating to watch. The character is suppose to be a good detective/police officer, but far from it and liked to blame the main male lead character.
I will continue to watch it since for the most part it is a good series.

Mesmerizing
Mr. Justin Chon is brilliant--a mesmerizing, powerful, and heart-wrenching performance by Mr. Chon. He created a masterpiece through his writing, directing, casting, and acting. Ms. Alicia Vikander performance as his loving wife was exceptional.
The entire cast was outstanding. Do not miss.

Real, not cliché
You have the golden opportunity to watch a series without cliché expressions, characters, etc. The story, the characters, and the actors who portray them are genius. The relationships and interactions between the characters are genuinely interesting, soul connections, catching, natural.
The director's artistic and dramatic vision of the script is captured, along with the expert guiding of the actors and crew was brilliant. So many beautiful scenes. Great touching script that most people could relate to.
Son Seok-Koo, Lee Min-Ki, Lee El, Lee Ki-Woo,
Kim Ji-won were natural, beautiful/handsome, realistic, relatable.

Brilliant Comedy/Drama and Acting
Heart warming storyline. Great cast; Oh Jung-se is a phenomenally multi-talented actor and musician with a beautiful voice. He takes what's on the page and runs with it. He and the entire cast were in synced and complemented each others characters.
Really great children actors. I believe it is worthy of some awards. Highly recommend it. It will not disappoint!

Bad TV Drama
Too much screaming, yelling, stupidity, conniving, backstabbing scenes, which is the writer Kim Sa Kyung fault. Shocked she got
2021 KBS Drama Best Writer Award.
Poor acting overall, which is the director's fault, along with casting personnel and producers. Exception to the poor acting was for the three children actors who portrayed the Chairman's children. The children were excellent and two of the children won awards during 2021 KBS Drama awards.
Chief Jo is a pathetic, abusive, lying, devious, alcoholic character; the actress who portrays her has no skills as an actress at all. Unbelievable that she got the 2021 KBS Drama
Excellence Award for Actress in a Long-Form Drama.
Chief Jo's mother and the step-mother of the Chairman are screaming, yelling, scheming, cheating, stealing, hurting, abusive, fraudulent characters; the individuals portraying them are terrible actresses.
Park Dan Dan character cries 75% of the time and is dumb as a block; the actress Park Ha Na can't act.
Park Dan Dan's father and step-mother are the same as the daughter's character, just plain dumb; actor and actress can't act either.
The step-brother and the rest of Park Dan Dan's extended step-family/almost family members are overall decent characters, to include Lee Se-Ryun character; the actors and actresses portraying them were overall good.
The biological mother of Park Dan Dan is a fraud; lying, unrepentantable, selfish, deplorable character; the actress is borderline with her acting skills.
The Chairman character is unappealing physically and morally and stupid; the actor has limited skills as an actor, which it is utter disbelief that the Chairman actor Ji Hyun Woo received the 2021 KBS Daesang Grand Prize for the Young Lady and Gentleman.
Also, that Ji Hyun Woo and Lee Se Hee got the Best Couple award for 2021 KBS Drama is a joke!

Limited Acting Abilities of the Lead Actress
Being a so-called veteran actress, being older (therefore, wiser), and beautiful does not equate to being a good actress...
I stopped watching it because it got boring after watching the female lead's (FL) limited acting abilities. I feel that Song Hye-Kyo, FL actress, has the same facial, body, and vocal expressions and demeanor that never changes from one role to the next role she plays in...
Jang Ki-Yong, the male lead (ML) actor, is an extremely talented actor that outshines Song Hye-Kyo's acting.
In fact, Park Bo-gum the ML in a previous show The Encounter that she was in, he was outstanding, whereas she was again a no-depth actress.
Same for when she was in Descendants of the Sun, absolutely a bland and boring actress, whereas Song Joong-ki was exceptional and multi-talented actor that carried the show.
In her next drama she is in, The Glory, which is a revenge type drama, I hope she tries to learn a bit of acting skills beforehand where she can work at the same level and instinctively with her ML, the very talented Lee Do Hyun.
