Silber und das Buch der Träume (2023)
What is this - really bad for an adaptation
First of all: the actors are alright and the movie would be fine if it wasn't a book adaptation.
But: Apart from omitting important characters like Lottie or changing family backgrounds (in the book Liv and Mia's dad is very much alive, Greyson and Florence's mum is dead and very much not French) the filmmakers also changed the plot and didn't even include one of the lighthearted scenes like the cheese incident at the airport, the many names of Persephone and the snobby school etiquette.
Also: what the hell is the deal with the drugs and changing absolutely everyone's appearance?
Yes, diversity is great and they did a good job in creating a diverse cast. But: if a character is described as "being bald and having big ears" or having a haircut like duchess Camilla: why not do that? The ethnicity doesn't matter in that case.
Also changing the entire dynamic between the characters and the weird sub-plot lines are annoying while vital plot lines from the book are missing making the story way too confusing and fast paced. Really disappointed by this adaptation.
Emily in Paris (2020)
Here for the vibes not the plot
The plot of the show is very meh but honestly the vibes, the visuals, the fashion? Amazing! Light show to binge watch as a guilty pleasure.
Don't expect too much though, as the so called plot unfolds it's really more of a cat-and-mouse game between the protagonists, lots of Last Minute Save the day actions and some pretty ridiculous dramas. Still: I enjoyed watching it and also have to give it to the writers for the engaging plot twists at the end of every season.
You just can't help it Abd have to carry on watching it and endure the endless row of cliches throughout the show. But hey: don't we all just need a little escapism in times like these?
Riverdale: Chapter Ninety-Six: Welcome to Rivervale (2021)
The embodiment of CRING
Like what the hell? It started off good with a actually decent and dapper looking jughead. But that's about it. Plot is absolute bonkers and all of the weird "let's make a baby" scenes? Come on.
Grey's Anatomy: I'm Still Standing (2021)
Nice Episode
It reminded me of some older episodes. And to everyone in the ratings saying that grey's is behind the actual COVID situation - are you Even aware of how tv shows are made? It's not that they film in real time...
