Basically I could watch any movie if it peeks an interest in me. Gore or Girly, Dramatic or Dumb, as long as I feel for the characters it's watchable.
Hard to say a movie is the best one ever, but if I were to choose I'd say 2001 A Space Odyssey. It evoked an emotional/physical response in me, made me want to believe in a god. Beautiful images and a sound track that couldn't be better suited. All this and still rated G.
Funny enough, Sleep away camp shocked me at the end. I had a similar emotional/physical response. This B horror movie didn't take itself to serious at all, but the surprise ending mixed with the fade to black afterwords was a perfect up in the air conclusion.

Defying Gravity (2009)
High Production Value.
Very interesting story with a bit of a 2001 feel to it. Space reality, with a touch of otherworldly influence.
I watched this in HD and being a space junkie found it near breath taking. The visuals were so crisp and clear. Things were about as real as they could get. Everything seemed plausible minus the "divine interventions" shall we say.
It also plays heavy with philosophy, debating freewill vs fate. Are we predestined to achieve certain goals, or are we the creators of our future? What is the value of life? Are we just expressed genetics? Where does Biology end and humanity begin?
They've set out on a six year mission to cruise our solar system, will they make it past year one? Let's hope so.
Das sündige Bett (1973)
Is this the movie i think it is?
Back when i was a teen i remember seeing a movie called Sinful Bed. It seemed that it could have been an international film (probably European). Basically it was a story in the perspective of the bed, and all the people who had the pleasure of using it. Starting before WWI and continuing to what was then present day (1972). It was definitely an interesting film, and i'm surprised more people haven't seen it. It has to have been fifteen years since i saw this film and it has stuck with me all this time. I have vivid recollections of the plot and various scenarios within the film. From the opening credits to the films close. It may have been mildly pornographic (which was probably why we rented it in the first place). But had more story, and held your interest better than your average Baby Blue flick. It's worth digging out.
Sleepaway Camp (1983)
Golden Garbage
I'd give this movie a passing grade. Some of the actors are crazy bad, while others keep ya watching. The story line is like any slasher film. Sleepaway Camp is full of classic horror stereotypes. They spent the budget (thankfully) on effects, not actors. I couldn't believe the size of the cast for what was surly a small budget movie. The eighties wardrobe was hilarious (Men in short shorts and cut off Tee's), that alone was worth watching the movie for. The actor who plays Ricky could have went on to have a career, cause his natural acting ability grounded the movie. Without him being realistic there'd be no foundation, no solid core of normality to keep us watching. My viewing him as a good actor could be based on the fact that everyone else seemed like Over-dramatic high school performers. Sorta awkward, waiting for there cue types. But as far a low budget, low quality horror films go this is watchable with an open mind and no high hopes. Great for group viewing, creates great laughs.
