Sacred Cow: The Nutritional, Environmental and Ethical Case for Better Meat (2020)
Please Share the Film with Family and Friends
Many ancestral foods have been demonized by big agribusiness and anti-meat advocates. They claim their products are healthier, better for the environment, and more affordable. Is that really so?
This docufilm is a great argument against the last 50 years of mainstream media bias.
The Bridge Curse (2020)
Pass on it
I read the synopsis and thought it could be a reasonable 5-6 star horror. I was burned on this one. It gave me a headache. There are too many fast forward "action" scenes and lots of annoying (senseless) screaming.
The Grudge 2 (2006)
Pass
I cannot remember a worse movie I've watched. I decided to watch this in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. I was wary of it, but decided to give it a try. I was disappointed within the first few minutes but wanted to tough it out. I regret doing so.

Unreasonably high rating
The quality of the story is on par with a below average Korean TV drama desperately trying to create an emotional rollercoaster for the viewers without any consideration of a realistic plot. Being familiar with Korean culture and the language, I'm also aware of the shortcomings of their legal system. This portrayal, however, is shocking. Could it really be that bad? The blatant dramatization doesn't help me sympathize with the characters, nor does it make me concerned for what'll happen to the protagonists. It's just one unreasonable scene after another. The high rating of this movie is a head scratcher for me.

Worth Watching
Good casting. Each of the actors had some charm that kept me intrigued. The cinematographers captured South Korea well, and I enjoyed looking at the scenery. There are a few scenes in particular that may turn some of the viewers off. I think it's common in South Korean movies to have scenes that stretch on longer than they should. At the last second (again), something happens to extend the scene or add suspense. Overall, I enjoyed watching this movie and would recommend it, especially if you're interested in the Gwangju Massacre.
Hikari (2017)
What was this?
Good acting, dialog, and filmography, but the story is dark will leave you feeling "What did I just watch?" There is no music in the movie except for the scenes that suddenly burst aggressive techno music, e.g., a scene of a sunlight radiating a tree in the woods. It's hard to feel anything good after watching this.
