Tuntematon sotilas (2017)
Good visuals, piss poor acting
This version does the exact opposite of the original. When the original had visuals that more than did the job with insanely good acting that is unmatched in Finland to this day, this one only has visuals as a selling point.
The acting... in the original people just acted as they were while in this one you have a bunch of helsinki rich kids with ABSOLUTELY PISS POOR acting. It is clear that they had no idea what they were depicting and the director didnt know how to direct them.
They act like braindead thugs at a after bar hotdog line.
As a Finn this is absolute horror to watch because of the insanely bad acting but foreigners maybe wont see how bad it is.
The original will always be the best as it had real life veterans acting and properly directed and written real life characters while this one has extremely bad imitations.
Obi-Wan Kenobi (2022)
Fan service by fans...
Utterly soulless and unimaginative.
But it was insanely great seeing Ewan McGregor and ESPECIALLY Hayden Christensen again (but that is ALL this show relied on)
Those guys are brilliant and their chemistry is out of this world!
If this was a project of Lucas it would have been mind-blowing but since it is this low effort cash grab by Disney... it is what it is. 6+ hours of fodder for 5 minutes of worthwhile content.
The remnants of the original Lucasfilm carried this shallow attempt which was fortunately (even as it stands) better than those God forsaken cinema and audience hating abysmal torture sessions that were the non-canon "sequels".
Heru doggusu (2022)
Nice one.
Couldn't take protagonist seriously as he is supposed to be a fighter but from the fist shot it is obvious that he has never lifted a weight or even heard of a gym.
Regardless, the action is good and visceral.
The story is better than expected even if it has some wtf moments.
So if you just want some action with at least some quality this movie is well worth watching!
So to recap here are some things to improve upon:
Cinematography: most of the shots were generic with just a bunch of dudes walking around in obvious sets.
Please put more effort to cinematography, it can make or break a movie!
Also if someone is supposed to be an unstoppable fighter... he should look like one.
Finally, if you make an Yakuza action movie, the political side should be fast explained (like this movie did... in the beginning) Especially when everything eventually boils down to "KILL EVERYONE"
Anyway, watch it but don't think too much.
Chappie (2015)
Fooken brilliant!
Only like 2 cgi shots could have been better, otherwise utter brilliance.
Sonic the Hedgehog (2020)
Cringe AF
100% Predictable default plot. Absolutely no effort made into making this.
Miseuteo Shunshain (2018)
Great high-quality show!
The quality is something else, a lot of scenes look like paintings by some great artist and the acting is solid all around.
Could use more of the action scenes that they do so well tho.
Lucifer (2016)
Great show with some downsides
The drama between the biblical character is great but the police investigations parts are veery boring.
This show would benefit a lot from ditching the murder investigations and concentrating on the drama and action.
Dip huet gai tau (1990)
Great film!
John Woo delivers again, an action packed yet tragic tale of three friends on the run.
Cloverfield (2008)
Quit watching after being bored out my mind
We tried to watch this with my mate but the on purpose messy "amateur" camerawork (who sucks that much with a camera??) kept breaking immersion and nothing but some cringey kids party going on we gave the movie 10 more minutes (after what felt like an hour) and when the movie still didnt get going we turned it off and watched something else instead.
Jar Jar Abrams is overrated.
The Expendables 3 (2014)
Otherwise great fun but not visually pleasing
For an old school action fan seeing all these legends on the screen has not gotten old but some unforgivably cheap cgi shots take down the enjoyment a whole lot but it was still great fun and i hope there will be more.
We Were Soldiers (2002)
One of the best war movies!
Brilliant work depicting the horrors of war.
+Great acting
+well directed
Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)
Awesome movie
The circle is now complete with this 6th movie which was great fun to watch but also an extremely emotional experience.
Dunkirk (2017)
More WW2 movies like this please
This film is visually stunning thanks to use of actual planes and ship with great cinematography instead of cgi rubbish.
I do wish we would have seen more of the action of the french holding the perimeter around the beach and city but still this was an excellent film.
Mechanic: Resurrection (2016)
A lot better than expected
Just watched this going in thinking "its just gonna be some braindead rubbish to pass the time" but it was actually a very creative and fun fast paced action flick.
