Wheeler Dealers: 1985 Maserati Bi-Turbo (2016)
A cut above the normal episode.
This episode comes as a bit of a shock. There is so much information portrayed ed has to talk at high speed.
All Is Lost (2013)
As a amateur sailor it was great, apart from the ending.
I can understand why the ocean going sailors are complaining, but if there was an epirb it would be like breaking bad made with European healthcare, there would be no story, This film caught me and kept me involved. The only disappointment was the ending, there should have been no rescue. But, America needs a happy ending. We definitely need more films about sailing. This is flawed, but wonderful entertainment.
Penn & Teller: Bullshit!: Fast Food (2010)
I wonder what Penn thinks now his arteries are blocked.
Penn Gillete recently released a book about his dramatic weight loss after his arteries became blocked. He raves about vegetable soup. I wonder if he would care to revisit this episode?
Before the Flood (2016)
Very well done, but the 3% are very noisy.
I often wonder why those who deny man is responsible for climate change are not more open to doing something about it anyway.
This is moving, well worth watching and very eye opening, even if you know a fair bit about the subject. It's not that often the Pope, Obama and Elon Musk star in the same film.
The success of the Europeans vs the corruption in the US Senate deserves a film all of it's own.
Unfortunately, it's clear from some of the reviews listed here that those benefiting from fossil fuels aren't going to be swayed, despite what's going to happen to their kids.
The Edge (1997)
Great film with a lot to learn from.
Came across this on Netflix having never heard of it, but this film really deserves a look. There's a lot of philosophy and thought given to the dialogue. You can tell the writers are digging deep and borrowing from the greats. Even if you have heard the life quotes before, there is something very refreshing in hearing them in place in a story.
Anthony Hopkins character is unfortunately far too good to be true, but the final scene with Baldwin has had me thinking about forgiveness a lot.
Very much a male self help film, and that's no bad thing.
Neighbors (2014)
Has IMDb been hacked?
I'm struggling to understand how this got such good reviews. I usually rate the IMDb score as the gold standard but something has gone seriously wrong here. I did see the trailer, it was good and contained the only laughs of the movie. The movie was truly the most tedious thing I have ever experienced. Why did it get such good reviews from critics and such a high score on IMDb? User reviews here are spot on. Not a single good review. The reviewer above who mentioned he had sat down to more entertaining bowel movements surpassed any joke in the film.
Something is very wrong here.
