Cleopatra (1963)
"Cleopatra" is a mixed bag
A historical epic directed by Joseph L. Mankiewicz, presents a grand spectacle that is both impressive and flawed. The film's sprawling narrative and ambitious production design create a visual and auditory experience that immerses the audience in the opulent worlds of ancient Egypt and Rome.
The film's greatest strengths lie in its lavish sets, intricate costumes, and attention to historical detail. From the grand palaces of Cleopatra to the sprawling battlefields of ancient Rome, the production design transports viewers to a bygone era. The star-studded cast, including Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, and Rex Harrison, delivers solid performances that elevate the characters beyond mere historical figures.
However, the film's significant weaknesses are equally evident. Its runtime of over four hours can be daunting and may test the patience of even the most dedicated moviegoers. While the narrative attempts to encompass the political intrigues, power struggles, and romantic relationships of the time, it occasionally loses focus and momentum, resulting in a meandering plot that can be difficult to follow.
The film's historical accuracy is also a point of contention, as it takes liberties with certain events and timelines for the sake of dramatic storytelling. Additionally, the romantic subplots, while undeniably passionate, sometimes veer into melodrama, detracting from the film's overall impact.
"Cleopatra" is a mixed bag-a visually striking and ambitious epic that falls short in terms of pacing and narrative coherence. Its strengths lie in its production values and performances, but its weaknesses, including its length and occasional lack of focus, hinder it from fully realizing its potential as a cinematic masterpiece. Whether viewers find it captivating or overly indulgent will likely depend on their appreciation for historical dramas and their tolerance for extended runtimes.

Hawa (2022)
A blank bioscope
A blank bioscope, there is nothing actually in it. It's empty of storytelling, and direction, and it will annoy your ear with continuous irritating Background music. It steals your time and money and failed to produce as your expectations. A dull cinema going nowhere, the primary-level script makes it more hurtful to watch. Lack of story, screenplay, script, and acting. In recent days cinematography has become an average feature. So let's not talk about the cinematography, it's the only good thing that remains.
