Una moglie bellissima (2007)
wife is lured into the glitzy bed, then back to the cozy husband's bed
What is the message of this story?
The wife makes a seamless switch from him to the smart guy, when finding out, after a full year, that she is only one of several mistresses he keeps, she goes back to the nice guy husband, who is happy to have her back.
End of story.
More details:
The wife gets seduced by the smart guy from the glitzy world, sleeps with him, then tells her husband that he is not really her level.
But does not tell him her betrayal and that she plans to leave him.
Instead, he only learns about her cheating by a finding "love letter", written by her AM, where he describes in great detail "her wonderful night".
She says nothing, but just leaves him now.
She enjoys her new high level life with the smart guy, while his friends get him to date nights, but he never finds a new girl.
After one year, she overhears a phone conversation of "her" guy with another girl, where he makes derogative fun of her, which causes her to make a scene, accusing his (female) assistants of being just whores (funny, she is not divorced, has cheated on her husband, lied, just left him, what does this make her herself???), and leaves him.
She crashes with the car, gets a leg surgery (she will never be able to walk absolutely clearly) her husband keeps her company in the hospital every day, after she asks him: don't leave me.
Funny again, who has left whom?
Finally, when she wants to talk, "since we didn't see each other the whole year" he tells her:
"When I sleep too long, I forget a lot. I went to bed yesterday at 9 and woke up today at 10. Did I miss anything?"
She: No, you didn't miss anything.
...*** well, actually, while she had fun, he missed a whole year, which he spent in misery ***
He: Fine.
And that was it. No "I am sorry" from her, nothing.
Well, there are a lot of really funny additional threads in this movie, but the main plot is really sad, and stops short of any credible behavior of the husband..and wife in the end.
Nude Tuesday (2022)
wacky downunder comedy, but poor husband
A little bit this comedy reminds me of Mike Myers comedy "The Guru", but much more crazy.
What makes my laughs stay low, though, is how the wife behaves and treats her husband.
She starts with being too busy to appreciate the little gift from her husband for their anniversary (she herself has nothing).
They go to the "couple's retreat", where she immediately falls for the guru, Björn.
Her husband already suspects this, and when the couple attempts to make love, after attending a number of meant to be funny group activities, he suddenly stops and accuses her of thinking of Björn, instead of him.
We now learn, that she already had a fling with her boss, a few months before, so his hesitations towards her have a reason.
Some more crazy couple retreat activities are shown, then, while wandering around by herself, Laura sees Björn alone, fishing, she talks to him and quickly starts making out with him, he grabs her tits, she gives him a handjob (within his trousers).
When he is done, he sends her away, leaving her unsatisfied.
After going back to her husband, she confesses, and her husband is now fed up with her, tells her to leave, and is sent away by the camp management for aggressive behavior.
She wanders around in the camp, then writes a letter, which he finds when he comes back.
The whole camp had left in a bus, to celebrate Nude Tuesday. Everybody is naked, in the bus.
He finds the letter, which reads:
"Dear Bruno,
I've made some terrible mistakes, but marrying you and having our beautiful girls isn't one of them.
GIVING BJÖRN A HAND JOB was MAYBE(???) one, as was the CHRISTMAS ANAL FLING with my idiot boss.
I am sorry but I realize, I NEED TO BE ALONE.
To somehow GET TO NOW MYSELF.
Love you, Laura."
He runs after them, and arriving, he tells her, all smiles, that the letter was wonderful, and she, also smiling brightly:
"I am so pleased we want the same thing, Bruno. Now we can consciously uncouple."
He: "yes. ...I'm wondering if maybe I have feelings for Rufus. I think I have a lot to unscramble".
And they walk off, hand in hand.
UnFair Exchange (2022)
Very African American plot, in my eyes, with a lousy end
SPOILER!
What a lousy wife, and what a lousy husband's "best friend".
The husband still misses a breakthrough in his writing of his story, and has as "idea" to ask his best friend to seduce his wife, but to NOT sleep with her, just a bit of flirting, to somehow get more pepper into is story (what a weirdo)....
An additional twist comes through the wife not getting pregnant from her husband.
Well, that the husband was wrong for sending his friend to seduce his wife just for his writing to be published, yes,
but
- it is one thing to do some flirting, as a "friend"
- and it is one thing, to respond a little bit to some flirting from some husband's "friend", as a wife,
but
- it is simply a terrible lousy betrayal for a "friend" to sleep with the friends wife
- It is simply an even worse lousy terrible betrayal for a wife, to
and then to be the one upset the most.
While her husband has NOT slept with that other woman. Who tried to seduce him, but he stopped that other woman quickly.
In the end, the plot gets stupid.
Within one or two minutes, after the "friend" tells husband and wife in their home about their betrayal, and her cheating, and she tells both to be pregnant, the husband gets berserk, for some reason he has a gun ready, shoots and kills his "friend", and then full of desperation himself!
* I mean, who the hell has a gun at hand at home when sitting together with your wife? * * I mean, is this a body positivity movie? Why is almost everybody sooo overweight??? *
Sommarlek (2004)
One day in the Swedish countryside
It is sunny, soon it will rain. Rain a lot, as we will see.
Until then, a man drives his car, sings loud with the music from the radio.
A group of young boys scramble and find some kind of box ring(!) in a barn, with almost professional looking boxing outfit, exercise box fights in the barn.
A young girl on her bike watches a little frog, one of the boys runs through a field of high standing wheat, for fun,
It starts raining, raining heavily, but it is a warm rain.
The girl and the boy, not together but in different locations, run around, dance through the rain. Smile and laugh.
Raindrops are falling into a puddle, sprinkles jump up, the man in the car watches fellow citizens rushing into their cars parked at the curbside, to avoid getting wetter than necessary.
The boy, lying in the field, on his back, soaking wet, gets up, when the sun comes out again.
The END.
De nærmeste (2015)
Who cares about existing spouses and relationships?
Charlotte doesn't care at all about her relationship with Dag, who is conveniently away for some days.
Hendrik is even married, but both don't care at all about the pain and grief they will cause, and DO cause.
Charlotte isn't even honest after Dag returns, he only catches her infidelity after getting suspicious of her getting texts late at night, and reading a text from her to Hendrik, written while Dag was sleeping next to her, saying: "I want you to be deep inside me".
She even denies anything first, and only says "sorry", "sorry" and starts sobbing, after he cites that text she wrote.
Dag walks away, and is gone.
Last scene, she waits for Hendrik to come to her, the hug, and the movie ends.
In the end, a disgusting pair of "lovers", and the only good thing is that at least Charlotte didn't start a family yet, so that it was easy for Dag to walk out of her poor life.
Hendrik fares much worse, having a wife and a child.
Odotus (2021)
Very clear message, but a very disturbing message
Some one before me wrote under the headline "Some reviewers eh"
"It empowers women without degrading men"...
"I'm glad Marvel fans don't get it"
I would say, anyone with a decent moral attitude will not "get it", at least not "It empowers women without degrading men".
The husbands best friend bangs the wife (who is after that "best friend" like a rolling cat), the wife openly tells her husband "I am sorry", then goes upstairs to bang the hell out of the husbands friend and herself, stays naked with the "friend" to the next morning, while the husband is downstairs in the marital bedroom, listening to their noises.
Clearly NOT HAPPY, clearly they do NOT have an open relationship, the wife does everything completely by her own decision, only.
I have no idea how more degrading it can become, except that the love birds had forced the husband to stay in the same room with them.
Well, I have to admit, I also don't get the husband's behavior afterwards, he half hearted tries to shoot the "friend", then invites him to visit again next year.
Any communication between wife and husband does not take place at all, afterwards. Just pretend as if nothing has happened.
This is how it ends (very unrealistic, except the husband is so extremely needy, that he bares anything his wife puts upon him).
Lulu (2014)
Mistress is pregnant, gay son tells her he will never leave Mom, she leaves sugar daddy, end
Lulu is Henriks mistress, is pregnant (Henrik doesn't now).
David tells Lulu that his father will never leave Mom, that she is only one in a row of women.
When David is embarassed by his father who learns that David loves to wear womens clothes, he runs away, Lulu finds him in a hotel, buys him some womens clothes and both stroll through the city.
She comes back to Henrik next morning, he gives her a necklace as gift, she takes it and tells him I just came back to pack, and drives away.
END
What is this movie about? It shows some persons, who interact with each other, and very soon everybody goes their own ways. ENd of movie.
This movie goes nowhere.
Divino Amor (2019)
Closer to God? Well.....
Actually, after not conceiving with her husband for a long time, she sleeps around with other guys, gets pregnant, and then tells her husband that
- she doesn't know who the father is (not one of the men of their church)
- this would be OUR child, and nobody would know, except she and her husband
and is surprised that her husband tells her "this is YOUR child", and divorces her.
She is so deep into her belief of a wonder from God, that she tells her husband to go away after he declares that he doesn't believe in her special version of faith.
Interestingly, her church also refuses to help her (except if she wants to ask for repentance), showing you how far the support of her church goes (her church seems to allow some "swinging", but "an exchange of seed is only permitted between husband and wife").
In the end, she gets her child alone.
Never Forever (2007)
Lousy Spousy, this wife
A terrible wife:
Wife wants a child, no matter what, is willing to pay 20.000 bucks to an illegal immigrant, instead of taking that money to a fertility clinic, doesn't tell a word to her husband, sleeps with the immigrant, day after day, and very visibly not for becoming pregnant, but for her lust and sexual pleasure.
And, what a surprise, she continues to sleep with him after she has her pregnancy confirmed.
Who cares about the husband?
At the same time the movie falls extremely short considering her husband, we learn he is susceptible to a suicide, we learn, that his wife always claims, even to her lover, that she loves her husband(!).
Consequently, the scene with the separation from her husband is short, there is no decent length arguing between the two, the only two sentences his wife has for him (he even telle her, I know everything, but I am willing to forget everything and look forward):
"I am sorry, I am sorry. The child is mine, not yours".
That's all. I AM SORRY husband, now get lost.
And gone she is.
Arc (2016)
Adding to the review "The Smokers" - some honest people, some predator, some betrayers
Please read the review "The Smokers" first, I just add a few sentences.
- Naomi feels unsecure, because her own professional life is meandering.
- Dennis, her husband, tells her only when she accuses him of cheating, after he told her that he had never done anything wrong, and she still insisting to "tell her the truth", upset, that he worked hard every day to support her and her "hobby". That was his wording while being pressured hard by Naomi and he felt wrongly accused.
- Ben is a real bum, has a disgusting daily life and habits, tries to take what he can get, like a woman he meets in a bar, at the same time predatoring Naomi.
He employs here current insecurity to lure her away from her husband, who loves her but feels treated badly by Naomi for some time now.
- Naomi finally cheats with Ben, before leaving Dennis and ring at Bens door.
End of the movie.
So, the answers are:
- yes, Naomi cheats and sleeps with Ben, BEFORE splitting with her husband Dennis.
- yes, Naomi leaves her husband and goes directly to Ben (typical switch from one warm bed to another).
- what happens to Ben and Naomi is not told.
What this has to do with "love" is beyond my understanding of love and caring.
L'esigenza di unirmi ogni volta con te (2015)
A wife cheats on her nice husband, finally kills him, and runs off
With her new lover, a grumpy but young and hung police officer.
The story pretends to show a "struggle of a woman in love", but actually the story is about a cheating woman without any morale and dignity towards her husband.
The only positive about this woman is that she admitted to her husband that she is "in love" with that police officer.
Her lover is even worse, telling her pretty soon that his ex wife cheated on him with his brother, and it took him a long long time to recover from this betrayal.
But does not hesitate to do the same with the husband of the woman is sleeps with.
Maybe I am too dumb, but what is this story supposed to tell us?
Cheating is Ok, if it is "L O V E"?
Where We Started (2013)
A story told as often
Will and Nora meet, find their spouses sooo terrible that they find each other soooo different, sooo wonderful, and, yes, maybe with hesitation, end up in bed.
This is not shown directly, Nora starts kissing Will, cut, Nora lies in bed in underwear, Will comes in, in clothes, told her, you fell asleep. She doesn't dress up but goes back into his arms later, talking about life, plans, what to do with their spouses...
Just to be reminded by a phone call, that losing their terrible spouses doesn't feel sooo wonderful either.
Nora tells her husband "I LOVE YOU TOO"!
What a liar.
Will even calls his wife and tells her, at the very end "I LOVE YOU"!
What a liar.
The play itself I found reasonably convincing, from that point its a nice movie, but the story and its message?
If you feel bad and you find someone who shares that feeling, and has all time of the world to benevolently listen to all your grieves, hop in bed?
The message is, to me, this having sex with a stranger is normal in such a situation, this is what you do, this is what happens, everybody does it, and when the real world knocks, well, then, no remorse (against your spouse, just lie and tell them you love him/her), just go back to your regular life.
This message is so bad. What about a message of self restraint even if it gets tough. At least this is what marriage is about.
To stick to your vows WHEN it gets tough.
The alternative is to separate, but not by a "warm exchange", but separate FIRST, if your spouse and your family is sooo unbearable.
Then look out for someone else.
