Big Little Lies (2017)
Outstanding acting, script, production. HIGHLY recommend
Loved it. All the way through. Big big subject matter masquerading as small town trivia. It got deeper and deeper, gripping throughout.
The script, direction and production was excellent.
Every character is complex, interesting and entirely believable. The child actors are excellent and fit into the storyline naturally. We've all met these kinds of people, men and women. Set in a world of privilege it's a real behind the scenes / under the covers story. One of the best things I've watched for a long time, I will be rewatching it very soon.
Highly recommend.

Navalny (2022)
A must watch. Chilling. Compelling.
As Nalvany said: "All evil has to do is for you to do nothing. Don't do nothing." Watch this.
It's compelling, but uncomfortable viewing. A man with humour, humility, and an ocean of courage. What an inspiration he and his wife are.
Mare of Easttown (2021)
Superb! Outstanding acting, storyline and cinematography
This is the best I've watched for a long time. The acting (particularly Kate Winslet) is just outstanding. The script is superb, completely believable, twists and depths. The story has so many layers, it's gritty and real. Held me transfixed throughout. Highly highly highly recommend.
The Nightingale (2018)
Be careful. Strong violence against women.
No spoilers here. Reviews widely report heavy duty violence against women in this film. We can all understand that some grit can add to the plot. The brutal violence in the early scenes against the lead female character is designed to set the direction. But it's really really excessive. And very upsetting. The level of violence is just not necessary for the story line and is hard to watch. Can really not recommend watching this. At all.
I Care a Lot (2020)
Excellent. Really enjoyable film.
This exceeded expectations. A really enjoyable plot, excellent acting, nice twist, great pace, kept us entertained all the way through. Recommend!
Your Honor (2020)
Gggeat storyline, superb acting from the whole cast
This had me gripped throughout all 10 episodes. It never flagged. Great acting from the entire cast, superb script, really really enjoyed it. Highly recommend!
Joker (2019)
Utter destruction of personality. Compelling.
Outstanding movie. Featuring the utter destruction of personality. Utterly incredible performance from Phoenix. It explains everything about the dark side of the Batman movies.
Probably the most violent, yet compelling movie I have ever seen. Highly recommend, but be aware... it is beyond dark.
Bridgerton (2020)
Light and uber-fluffy. The lightest of plots...
Highly hyped, this disappointed quite a lot. It's the Michelin restaurant equivalent of squirty cream. Light and predictable plot, deliciously over acted, a gentle Sunday afternoon viewing at best - I think the U.S audience will lap it up and think they've had a history lesson. Enjoy!
Upright (2019)
Superb. Compelling. Just got better and better.
Superb. Compelling. Funny. Emotional. Just got better and better with every episode. The best of Oz filming. Tim Minchin and Milly were absolutely absolutely absolutely superb.
